Over the last few years, I have accumulated a small collection of cedar posts. It is time to manifest this pile of old wood into a recycled work of beauty. No trees were harmed in the making of this video. Red Cedar trees were the main point of interest of this Homestead pasture fence #diy #cedar #chainsaw #asmr #farm #pasture

Security, and privacy. One day I would love to have a cow and a few ducks and chickens just free to roam
@@Austinpowas you will young squire. Just get to it , trade haggle, buy when you can or have to. Cut your own lumber or use logs in a mortice an tenon fashion, learn how to make your own mortar the old ways will teach you if you want to learn. I'm still using the barn my great grandpa built in the 1880s out of high timber logs. The only limitations you have are those you place on yourself. It's hard work . But think it thru , draw up plans an kick it in the ass. You'll do just fine. An the smile you'll be wearing for a job well done is worth more than money. Talk to the elders where you live ask about the best way to do chores the old way. Most will be glad to explain ,help, teach, your motivated.. that's the hard part for most folks. So get your butt moving an make those upgrades an buildups. The old Bear
@@oldmountaindawg4593 I've always wanted to build a hydropower generator. Soon!
@@Austinpowas wood or metal.. couple of bearings an saddles, with zert fitti gs for lubing.dig out a good spot in a river or stream for good flow. Line in with flat rock 10 to 20 ft going into it and out , it for good flow in the winter if it freezes over on top. Two to four ft for wheel size should be big enough. Get a pulley you can mount on the shaft . Any large old dodge, GM, or Ford alternator to run your fan belt thru from the shaft to the alternator. Dig a trench to a shed , garage, or room. Use old deep cycle marine batteries on shelves . I run 15 of them when I use it. You'll need a converter then into your power box to the house unless you want to run DC. THATS A WHOLE DIFFERENT GAME. LOL make sure your fuses will carry the load you want to use. You might want to build a cover for the water wheel so it don't freeze up in the winter. I'm lazy I use kerosene most of the time. But flip a switch when I feel the need. You should be cutting cord wood now to be dry enough to burn proper this winter. I got ideas for goat pens, chicken coops, an rabbit hutches if you need some. So Hollar if I can help. Enjoy your evening.
@@oldmountaindawg4593 l love how you know the full procedure already. Converting current from AC to DC is something I have 0 experience in, and id imagine that wiring the proper fuses are key in this situation.
Nice work young squire. Keep leading by example. The old Bear.

why?
What you might not notice is that each of these holes has enough water to mix with the concrete as I pour the bags. The day after I poured, the cement was fully hardened. If water appears in your hole, it is not a problem, as you can pour concrete into water, professionals do it often. (a W/CM ratio of 0.33 would be ideal). After about two hours your concrete will have transitioned from a plastic to solid state. Ground water will become your concrete’s friend as it will aid curing processes. Chemical reaction of hydration allows microscopic crystals of Portland cement to grow and interlock as sand and gravel together continues to happen for days, weeks and months after concrete has been poured and it needs water to complete this chemical reaction.
@@Austinpowas thank you
@@SkillfulCurve The main reason why people are against dry pouring is that the concrete may become 'segregated' and typically in building, this isn't allowed. The maximum permissible free fall of concrete to avoid segregation may be taken as 1.5 m or 150 cm. Fortunately, the holes I have dug are all approx 40-48 inches deep.
Your a mo@on... No air, no chemical reaction... There is a reason it's called (air injection concrete)... You need air to make the chemical reaction, that's why it gets hot... Because it's curing Your no air (AKA dry pour) will never get hot and thous will never cure ...
Bro, you’re already there, why not just do the job correctly?! You can rent a mixer for not much at all. How often are you putting a new fence in? Not often is it? Then do it correctly and it will be an even longer amount of time.
Note* I am using pre mixed bags of concrete* these bags have the proper ratio of sand/ Portland/ and crushed stone. You're mad that I didn't add water before it went into the hole? There was plenty of water in the holes for the chemical reaction to take place. These aren't footings for a house. The concrete sets just fine. Renting a mixer is more time and money that this fence doesn't necessarily require. If I was using a mixer,I'd be adding the sand/Portland/ and gravel to a water mix. I could be mixing the mud in a mortar tray, did you think about that ? Why would I waste my time mixing 2400 lbs of material for the same reaction.
This isn't going to work like you hope it will
Why not?
PREMIX YOUR CONCRETE!
All of the bags are already pre-mixed
I use half a bag w/ bricks & rocks so post stay plum till set
Youre gonna regret that one day
One day, you'll be right.

Hi there, How are you? I saw your videos, your video quality is good but not properly SEO. Your SEO score is very poor. That's why your channel is not growing organically. SEO means Search Engine Optimization. I think you understand, for views, subscribers, and comments your video should be ranked on top of CZcams, Proper SEO that means keyword session ( low competitor keyword selection) can help your channel to rank on the top. Thank You
Cool😎.

You’re making amazing videos on your CZcams channel! What is in your mind about your channel?
I'd love to turn a property into a functional farmstead, and document the process! That is where my mind is taking me.
@@Austinpowas That's a fantastic goal! One tip that can help with discoverability is including relevant keywords in your video titles and descriptions. If you want to learn more SEO strategies for increasing subscribers and video views, I'd happily share some additional tips!
@@ElevateByMoshiur I've wondered what I should be adding to the description. I'd be delighted to receive any criticism
@@Austinpowas Descriptions are a key part of video SEO. A strong description should include relevant keywords and a compelling summary that hooks viewers and encourages them to watch. You can also use the description to add timestamps for key points in the video. If you'd like some help crafting a more SEO-friendly description for one of your videos, I'd be happy to take a look and offer suggestions!
@@ElevateByMoshiur How Would SEO optimize this videos description? Which key words should I use to describe the simple act of feeding my dog treats as a reward for being obedient?

Up here In Ontario they are like gone
😮 The few I have are hanging on, but just barely. It's easy to notice that the top half of the top half of the tree has no leaves in the summer.
Same thing happening over in Ontario Canada! They unfortunately cut down all the ash trees in my area.
You need to lash out and get a hydrolic splitter
I know, it's going to happen sooner than later!! 😉 Do you have any recommendations? Should I go for a big rig?
Im in far southwest Virginia ive watched our entire white ash population pretty much go extinct with in 5 years. Theres a huge ash in my subdivision thats gotta be a hundred plus years old perfect huge specimen thats just got a few water sprouts on its main trunk left. Id say it wont leaf out this spring pretty sad. Unlike the hemlock thats got some of its population resistant to it enemy the ash has zero chance of survival.
Yeah….it’s sad. I’m on the other end of south west Va, North of Roanoke… and you can see all the standing deadwood in the local forests.
@williamclausejr.7476 I've also noticed all the crimson king maples and quite a few white pines are dying out around me. Not sure what's up with that but alot of standing deadwood !
Sounds a lot like what happened in Alaska, almost like someone wanted to destroy our forests... just a dumb conspiracy theory though
Which trees do you mainly burn in Alaska? Which trees do you believe were targeted?
@@Austinpowas Spruce. There are huge forests of dead spruce. Caused by a beatle from a country that if I say it I'll get called a racist. Its just a conspiracy theory though so dont even worry about it, no one wants to hurt USA.
Put some grip on it

Consider it done! ✅
👏👏👏
there's an area of my town where they lined city streets...they all had the ash borers and would randomly fall across the roads...they finally had to take them all out...literally thousands of ash trees
That's crazy, thousands!!!! This is no joke. The cool thing about trees, is that they know how tall they're supposed to be. Hopefully the new vegetation grows in quickly!
@@Austinpowas there must have been an ash forest here...lol...central Indiana..a large percentage died standing and the reason most of these fell was overly saturated ground on the side of the roadway... once they die, regular storms and whatnot can bring them down...these were pretty large trees..the root systems are large but i don't think it matters when they are so close together and the tree is dead anyway....they say if you want to plant ash they should be at least 60 feet apart but don't do it on the eastern half of US....a positive i found was it's good burning wood with high btu's....if I had to trash a bunch of these i'd look into selling as firewood...
