The usdm gearbox I'm using has a very tall (compared to 1-4) 5th and 6th gears. By the math it should be around 270km/h but I've never gone there and I doubt I could with drag. 4th gear is ~150kmh and I go into 5th once on course.

Good questions! My setup is using the racecapture pro mk2. The dash above the gauge vents is using the racecapture app (now using wifi instead of the OTG cable). The phone is connected via bluetooth to the racecapture and running solostorm and is triggered automatically. Racecapture gets the majority of the ECU data along with an internal accelerometer and a GPS receiver in one package. There are other ways to do this with a separate GPS and OBD2/canbus reader if your car supports that with a variety of price points. The petrel data website should have multiple options listed. I am running a standalone ecu so this is the most convenient way for me to get this data. the Racecapture also has some extra sensors feeding into it that aren't in the ecu. So i have data being logged in solostorm, racecapture, and internally on the vipec ecu. Just depends on what kind of data i'm going for but solostorm is the quickest and most convenient to improve my driving as it compares laps in a useful way. My camera is a DJI action cam (original one) with an external mic going to the passenger floor so it's less windy. These are not synced with the racecapture or solostorm as that camera is not supported however it's easy to upload the video after the fact in solostorm to get this overlay you see in the video here. I believe a bunch of the gopro hero cams and garmin are supported by solostorm so it will trigger the camera for you and sync the data accordingly so you can get instant overlays after each run. @@imminent3178 nothing more than really what was seen in the video. It needed a fair bit more work and a bunch of stuff redone. I lost my ability to work on it where it currently sits unfortunately.

Thanks! The car has a welded in roll bar. The rules for knox are different for street prepared cars (like mine) and GT cars which have full cages. So my car has a 4 point roll bar. Full interior, stereo, airbags, back seat... Same spec as SCCA club roll bars or you can look up the CACC time attack rulebook. I do trailer the car to knox but it is street driven normally. Lots of people drive their cars to knox.

I never drove them on a car that was quiet enough for it to really make a difference. Similar to Dunlop z2, re71r, etc... The current "street/track" tire I'm using is the continental extreme contact sport and they're are maybe a little quieter.

Custom front control arms and axles to use legacy/impreza knuckles and brakes. Rear suspension is entirely from a first gen legacy. Custom mounts for everything.

J K this was the last session of the day so our run group was pretty well sorted. you can see me checking my mirrors fairly often, especially on the straights... I had a new z28 camaro hot on my tail and he was really gaining ground in the straights with more than twice the power but I would pull away slightly in the turns. I apologized to him after the session. I didn't want to hold anyone up but it turns out he was enjoying chasing me and seeing my lines to help him improve. not sure I'm the best teacher though!

Yeah, i was driving on the 21st and spectating on the 22nd. I saw the black camaro following you. It looked like you were super fast in the turns and he was super fast on the straights. Really fun watching you guys lap together!

I was in the Z. It was blast chancing you! it was getting a little boring by my self all day. I'll get you in the corners next time. I've got some good video of that session, just haven't had time to post yet

Awesome! Ya shoot me a link when you get it uploaded. I'd really like to see how we compare. And ya, I think we both left lots of room for improvement on that track! I was getting more and more comfortable with the layout and not having to think about where I was going. I'd like to try playing around with my lines and seeing where time can be gained.

I am running a 245/40/17. I normally run a 255 but they didn't have any in stock and I really didn't want to use the re71r at area27. I feel like that would have been the end of them haha

I killed my re71rs at area27 hah. You'll see how much wear went on a brand new set if you go to VCMC this weekend or UBCSCC autox June 18. I'm probably going to pick up Firestones like Justin

ya i know all about how they re71r wears on the track. I did 2 sessions at mission in the dry at time attack. I knocked off 2.5seconds off my previous best and took about 30-40% off the tread. lol I knew area 27 would kill my re71's so I had them on for Knox and swapped to the zestinos for area27. I'm glad I picked them up because they look like they have barely any wear after the full day at area27. I'll continue to use them for track days and daily and save my re71's for autoX and time attack sessions.

Haha the 71R's lasted 2 track days on my Fiesta as well. I don't think I will go that route any more since I'm not autocrossing/competing, makes more sense to go with a dedicated R compound for track
