I can see that. Rest assured, I ascribe to the non-aggression principle of "use no force and do no harm". That being said, I am in favor of everyone being peaceful but not harmless. There is a real need for the capability to defend oneself against any level of force directed against your life and liberty. This is an intrinsic right to all humans. In the best case, the need for that would not arise. However, it is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. There are bad guys that have the intention of harm towards others. There are good guys that are able and willing to stop them if necessary. If anyone has a problem with that I am not certain they fully understand the realm in which we live.

I love a little due diligence. How did you find your way here? I am curious to know.

We’re in the united states. We bought the land with the hope that our adult children will join us. I’m not so sure they will (at least right now.) We are considering others, but am hesitant without a good written expectation that outlines our dream.

Hello. Having written expectations is definitely necessary. People don’t have the same work ethic, values, beliefs, etc. This is something I am currently working on. We own our land outright. The goal is to build a homestead that also benefits others. Ex) having enough produce/ fruit/ goods etc to both share and give.

I’m sorry, it looks like my reply didn’t post. Some of the things we’ve learned is that we have to write out expectations. Verbal agreements are not sufficient in today’s society. With that, everything needs to be covered (as much as possible.) I also need to work on discernment in regards to bringing new people in as I tend to see good right away and it has taken me much longer to see issues.

@@theresafriedle9003 Writing down your agreements does seem to be the best approach. Being willing to benefit others with your homestead is the net gain I was talking about. Abundance does follow the hard work. It is good to find the easiest and most productive way to handle that.

Or perhaps end all foreign entanglements altogether.

Dear drive-by commenter. It appears that your comment would be meant to silence or detract from the message. Had you delved further into the content, you would notice that not a single person was accused of anything. This is quite unlike mainstream religion that thrives on intentionally accusing individuals. The apparent irony doesn't really exist unless there were no factual points made. It is interesting to note that religious "truth" always needs a defender. Real truth is not in least bit concerned with outside support. Perhaps there are better ways to broach these tough topics. I am in favor of no appearance of irony but the again I am not responsible for the lenses people choose to see through. You are welcome to make your case, should you be capable.

Thank you for the good word. Don't live in fear. Do what is right. Avoid what is wrong. Seek truth and walk in it and your days will be long on the land, as promised. Judgement is always available for those that will not know their Creator and his ways. Life is always available for those that do. Peace comes to those that walk in love, even in the face of trials and tribulations. If religion has stolen your peace, then perhaps seek a different and more narrow path. Seek the truth in quiet places and you will find it. You are the answer to the sickness in this realm.

@@tywiggle I'll dig through but can also reproduce those ideas if desired but wrote much about the highways built by the trauma based reactions that helped bring the circus to life.
