thank you so much!
Thank you so much. This is so helpful.
Since I liked your video, we wanted to share that our boy (15) passed the college composition clep! Here is a tip for other parents: if your kid tells you they didn't quite finish the second part (the last writing assignment), do NOT panic as you wait for results hahaha. I was pleasantly surprised to see a 61, although the writing was not finished. So that is like a 76% right? But it is sent to a college just as a yes/no (accepted or not according to their requirement) right? Pensacola Christian requires only a 50, I'm not sure about other schools.
Still confused. My son did modern states and has the voucher. The written portion- will he be given some random topics? At that point is there literature attached so THAT he can say author, pg# ? He only used modern states so this has me nervous.
How’d it go?
This playlist is amazing!! Thank you. I just have one nagging question. Before they get to the pre-tests and studying from the book, what curriculum are you having them study to prepare? Basically what’s the best way to fast track the whole process!? Like how do you ensure the curriculum you’re teaching is going to align with the testing that they will be doing?
This was great. Thank you.
This was great. Did y’all find that colleges accepted clep courses openly and highly? We are debated whether to go the clep route or dual enrollment classes. Thank you! Subscribed. I also have a channel mainly about homeschooling and happy to be able to connect here 😊
So excited to see you posting again
Looks like it’s going to be a great school year. Definitely will be getting the psychology book for my 16yo. Thanks for posting.
I just recently discovered your channel. This is so helpful. However, what grades do you give them on their transcripts if it's pass or fail for CLEP?
Advice: -learn the colonization of America Jamestown & Plymouth Rock -memorize the presidents in order & what they did -crash course for American history & modern states -practice test scoring >70 before taking
Where do you do practice tests of your chosen clep?
College Composition is 6 Semester Hours and College Composition Modular is 3
any tips or advice for chemistry clep? how can i get +60?
None of my kids have taken the Chemistry CLEP, but I have heard it is one of the hardest. Maybe a CLEP Facebook group could help you connect to some people with experience to share?
I’d love to hear an update on how this has gone for your other kids!
It's going great! (One of the "other kids" here 😉) My brother graduated college in 11th grade with a general associates degree and took his senior year to work and take several more college classes. I'm a junior this year and will be graduating with my associates degree in May. My younger sister is in ninth grade and is studying for the Biology, Government, and American History 2 CLEPs. She's already taken and passed a handful of other CLEPs.
My eyes blurred, I think the video mirrored
This is super helpful, especially as a fellow Minnesotan! I wasn’t sure if middle schoolers were prepared to take a CLEP test, but it sounds like they are with focused studying!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. I'm learning so much from your videos. Please come back, and share more curriculum favorites.
Thanks you for information 😊
I'm really bad at biology 😅
I am doing the bio clep I need help
what is the webside ????
Hi, Amy! (It's Amy in DL) I'm watching all your videos again to start thinking about CLEP and PSEO.... but I love this recommendation for English. I'm wondering if you'd do an update video on how your son's last year of high school rounded out and any other golden gems of curriculum that your family has loved. Thanks!!!
A passing score is worth 3 credit “hours.” Just a little clarification. Thank you for the info!
I would like to here his essay about “should you obey all laws.”
Where do I locate the goal sheet?
If you are in Minnesota, you can find one by searching Minnesota Transfer Curriculum.
hello can you please tell me if when doing the seond essay they give you the option to copy and paste when we are doing cites?
You have to write your own citation.
I am studying for the test on my own, where is the best place to study for it?
We used a high school biology textbook and supplemented with crash course videos and free-clep.com
This was super helpful. I had just written down a similar schedule for 8th grade with a plan to do 1 CLEP per semester starting in 9th. I wasn’t sure if 9th grade was too soon to expect my kids to test. This is encouraging.
Am I able to interview you? I am very curious to do this
Thanks a Million for this video. God's blessings. Subscribed.
Hi - I haven't read all the comments, but how can my high school senior clep out of EN101 right now before college?
Hey, sorry I missed this question. Check with the school your student wants to attend to see if they accept CLEP credit. If they do, the College Composition CLEP should take care of Eng 101.
I thought this was a split screen and was not ready for him to grab the camera hahaha
Hello have you taking the test for any nursing course exam.Adult Health 1
Y'all look like twins! 😉
do you by any chance still have the free clep prep BIO practice test, I was trying to access it, but it keeps saying internal error? or do you recommend any other practice test
We were able to use it recently on the freeclep-prep website. I would definitely take the one from the Official Study Guide purple book.
@@amyhawn7735 i dont find the webside they all tell me for a 30 day free trail but a have to pay ? pleas help can you send a link?
I bought a CLEP study book from 2020 and is this booklet still good to prepare for tests in 2021
Sorry I didn't see this message sooner. We are still using the 2020 books and it's working just fine.
So if I take an exam on August 1 , do you think it would be available by like the 12th of August ?
Thanks much appreciated!!
I was just going to rely on the modern college, so I’m glad I saw this video!
This was very helpful! I'm really good at English and writing papers, but haven't done so in awhile. Do you have any suggestions on where to begin? I have the college board study guide book. Also, if I was to take the clep with the two 45 minute segments, will that give me credit for freshman comp. 1 and comp. 2? Thank you!
Great videos! We don't know where our kids will attend college and I saw some colleges have an asterisk by the Life and Physical Science General Ed requirements that says "Life and Physical Sciences must include both a lab and a lecture." Does that mean that they won't accept Bio CLEP for a gentle ed requirement? They have taken Bio honors at our high school. Thanks!
CLEP sciences do not transfer as containing a lab component. I would say the CLEP would not satisfy that college's requirements.
Thanks a lot!!!
Thank you for the information! This is very helpful!
Thank you for this video, about how long did you prepare for the test? My daughter is finishing biology (at regular high school) and would like her to take the test over the summer. She has a B in the class but has struggled with the material.
It will take some patience. The best thing to do would be to have her take the practice test from the CLEP Study Guide book and use her score as a gauge for study. I would think 4-8 weeks depending on her motivation and comprehension.
Hi there Amy, I had no clue where to get essay practice for the Analyzing and Interpreting literature essay portion, is there any way you can help me with this?
I don't believe there is an essay portion with the analyzing and interpreting literature CLEP. At least, if there is, we did not take it. There are two essays with the college composition CLEP.
I'm a homeschooled high schooler and am currently on my 10th clep test. I also took the clep biology, but after going through the rea guide intensely I only got a 50 (which is still a pass, but cutting it a little close). These videos are super helpful. I like hearing your tips and how you studied for the exams, and it helps me to build up confidence beforehand. Please make more!
Thanks! Which CLEP would you like to take next?
Most of the PSEO courses offered in the colleges we have begun looking at are the gen ed courses. So if we are able to CLEP out of them, what courses would a student take in PSEO? What college are you working with that has upper level credits they can earn as a high schooler?
For an Associates of Arts and Sciences the student needs 60 credits. We did roughly 35 of them PSEO and 28 CLEP. I have spoken both with the U of M system and the MSU system here and they have both said my 12th grader can take upper level classes for his last year of PSEO as long as there is room.
i got recommended by my english teacher to take the one with the two essays. however, im thinking about taking a gap year so i wouldn’t know if the credits would still be good and i don’t exactly wanna say no🥺
Clep credits are good for many years (I think 20!).
What curriculum did you use?
We use a variety- for which grade and subject?
@@amyhawn7735 I have one going to be in 5th grade and one going to 9th grade. Want to know about all subjects and how it help them to be ready to take the clep test. Maybe you could make a video.
Thanks for the tip- I will do that!
This is awesome!! I was just speaking to my students about this and here is a video a few days later.
