Tripp was attacked by a dog and was in critical condition for a few weeks. But he healed and remained "spirited". He was released and should do well! #opossums, #opossum #ferncroft wildlife

Tripp has been released but has decided to take take up residence on our property - for now. We watch on the night cameras and he returns frequently scrounging for food. He looks great - see for yourself!

Our goal - our mandate - is to release the animals we rehab back to the wild. Before releasing, they spend a few weeks in a "pre-release" pen to finish "wilding up". Pre-release does not always go a planned. This little male stayed behind.

It's been 48 hrs since we admitted the seven tiny opossum neonates. The most critical period has passed and FOUR have survived. They are like little miracles. Tube fed every 3 - 4 hrs they are gaining grams (no losses) This is an unusual passel... they don't stay together. Everyone has it's own sleeping spot! No guarantees, but I think they are going to make it. Wow!
