We're a couple of friends who love endurance sports, from ultrarunning, to cycling, to swimming. Covering as much ground as we do, we get to try a lot of gear and we enjoy talking about our likes and dislikes. We created the Descenderists page to record our adventures together, discuss what gear works for us and what doesn't, and to celebrate our favorite part of endurance sports: running downhill.
I climbed a mountain! (Run Enchantments Traverse and Summit Dragontail Peak)
I head up to Seattle to link up with my friend, Seb. Seb likes to climb mountains. He offered to take me on a trip up Mount Rainier but a snow storm made us shift our plans. So, we decided to get a long run in and climb a mountain on the same trip.
This was my first time doing any mountaineering. It was such a beautiful trip. Washington is obviously so much different than California, then you add in the alpine and being above the timberline. It was such an amazing experience. I had not counted on how scared I would be. But once you get up there the only way out is down anyway. Enjoy the video!
Less than 3 weeks out from Amelia and I running 7 marathons, in 7 days, in 7 states!!
