After this game Collin Samuel was named Hibernian player of the season.
I was there what a game and what a season we had COYB, we then went forced Dundee into a reply at Dens Park
Pumped out the next round by the dee 😉
One of the loudest roars I ever heard out of the old away end when novo equalised in the first game. The replay up at dens was decent too, we had a decent support up and it was a good game until we got overrun late on. Great season to be watching the bairns, the dee had some side as well

Sounds frightening. On 30/1/79, as a Villa fan I came within an ace ofb being attacked at Everton after the game. Seriously frightening, Merseyside a very dangerous place to visit in the 70's...the old trick to flush out visiting fans........ ''Yer got the time mate?'' If you didn't have a wedge haircut, spray-on jeans and trainers they could spot you from a thousand yards. Really nasty.

It was a good day mate, second last ever cup tie at our old ground, last one being a 1-1 draw with dundee in the quarter final
We've never won the top division, runners up a few times in the early 1900's, won the cup in 1913 and 1957 same year as villa I believe
Should make sure the world knows brockville Park was also the 1st ever televised floodlights match vs Newcastle because they put it out there wasn't falkirk v Newcastle United

Yes - 1957 - the last time my Villa boys won the FA Cup. Big help that Peter McParland flattened their keeper who had to go off....won 2-1. Horrifying - 65 years ago!

@@lennylaa1686 we had to win the first div 2ce before we got promoted due to Brockville being a bit of a deathtrap, we never made it to the final that year but we have had 2 finals since then losing both.
@@lennylaa1686 yes we won the league almost went unbeaten at home was last ever season at brockville Park we lost on last day to inverness then we was denied promotion* not the 1st time we was rejected promotion, so motherwell was saved* because of stupid rule even tho we was gonna groundshare with Airdrie but the 12 spl clubs rejected so we forced SFA TO change rules that allowed inverness CT be get promotion the following season groundsharing with Aberdeen btw 1st time we got rejected promotion was 2000 season Aberdeen would of been relegated
@@bigangryscotsman remember we was rejected promotion twice saving both Aberdeen and motherwell the only too long term spl clubs that's never been relegated

Falkirk had a great team that season, only SPL politics prevented promotion.
You forget how atmospheric a ground Brockville was!! Collin Samuel was some player aswell!!
If he didn't spend as much time in Rosies as he did on the training ground he'd have been a world beater.
