I live your tbrifting videos! Just wanted to respond to the challenge regarding the quality of store items 1:52 in your area. First, the thrifting is only as good as the other stores and populous in one's area. For instance, there are statistically higher amounts of Oregon Myrtlewood items created in your area than in the midwest. Even with mass-produced souvenirs and shipping, there will sill be more in your area. Therefore, there will be a greater proportion of Myrtle Wood in your local thrift shops. It is then, inherent that some areas will just have thrift stores that sell different things. Although frequenting thrift stores will enhance the chance of getting that score, it will not change the fact that items in one area of the country are just better than in other areas. Thank you.
That is a really good point and makes total sense! The thing I love about thrift stores is that there is “something for everyone” because even if there is something valuable on the shelves, it might not appeal to you. But it’s the that the more often you go, the more likely it is that you’ll find something you like 😊 thanks for watching and commenting! 💜
You can always go to UPS store and ship your items home.
I thought of that, but just didn’t want to pour more money into it because we would’ve had to Uber, purchase packing material, and then pay the high shipping fees! But that’s a great idea and I know people do it all the time. I’m just too cheap when it comes to that lol!
Sarah, I'm so glad you got the painting. She really looks like you! 1967!! ohmygosh! The frame was not a quality one, imo. You can easily have it replaced at a good framing shop. They will be able to suggest the right frame that matches the age of the painting. Based on the pictures you took of the back try and research some more information. This should be very interesting. Can't wait to see it hanging in your home! TFS
Ok thank you for saying that! It made me feel better about having to leave the frame behind!!!
One idea, when you find a piece you absolutely love and want to get back home…stop by a UPS or USPS and have it shipped to your home before you head back🙂
I was going to suggest the same thing.
That’s a great idea! We didn’t have a rental car and I know shipping fees can be high for such a large and heavy item, so I didn’t explore that because I didn’t wanna spend more money on this lol! I am too cheap when it comes to this stuff!
Candlesticks look like Romanian Milano. Great find ❤
Oh my goodness, you’re so right! They are so beautiful!
What, cool pieces in that Angel thrift store! ❤
There was so much to look at! I loved it!
I didn’t see much MCM in the thrift stores. Glad you had fun.
You are right! I think the MCM stuff is in the more curated vintage stores. Palm Springs is a city that knows the value of MCM and thus wouldn’t just donate it.
That is an amazing store!
Another way to be sure and cut something just where you want it it to use the frame’s glass as your template. You can see exactly where your image will be. Pencil around it to cut. Perfect every time!
Great tip!
I have antique market envy! Nothing nearly as nice like that where I live.
Portland has excellent thrift stores and antique markets. You’ll have to come for a visit sometime 😊
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Hi Ann uk 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️
Hello 😊
I love shopping at antique malls because you find, I think, a lot more variety, even though the prices are higher due to booth expenses. The mall you visited has really beautiful items. One request: If at all possible, please try to move the camera a bit slower. At moments it was hard to look at the video. Thank you so much and hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day!
Great input! And thanks for the feedback! I noticed the fast camera movement when I was watching back and will try to go slower next time 😊
I suggest keeping the writing on the bottom of the print and placing it in the frame behind the print. I love those prints too. Great finds.
That's a great idea!
Sorry for the MAJOR delay in posting this video! I was on vacation and ran into audio issues when trying to upload. Thanks for watching!
Is that a print of the famous Rembrandt "The Man in the Golden Helmet"? What a great find!
Omg it is! Thanks for identifying it!
Awesome Video!!! You have to "set" boundaries for thrift shopping!!! EVERYTHING pretty is not funtional!!! I like it but do I NEED to buy it??? You have to enjoy thrifing by "looking" not buying!!!! Thank you for sharing!!!!
So true! Thanks so much for watching 🤍

I recently learned a trick to put out candles without any smoke. I use a toothpick or piece of skewer, you push the wick into the was and it will snuff out the flame with NO smoke at all! But I love that snuffer so pretty
That’s a great tip! Do you pull the wick back out of the wax before it hardens? Or how/when do you get the wick out next time you want to light it?
@homegirlcreative yes you just dip it enough to put it out and then place it upright again.
We want to see clothes too ❤
Ok good! Thanks for the feedback!
I love the smell of a blown-out candle! it brings back happy birthday party memories!
Aww that’s a good point! I don’t know why it just doesn’t agree with me 🤔
I found a small sombrero at the GW Bins that I had to get for my weiner dog. He didn't like it!
Hahahaha!!!! That sounds so cute though!
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Interesting Velasquez paintings you found. I love thrifting but struggle to find a lot of the same style. I was collecting colored glass rare dishes and murano type stuff but eventually gave up at having it look cohesive. Guess it's a good reason to gind a new place with more space, tough in the city. I ended up donating a lot to neighbors. These days I'm sticking with MCM natural wood and stuff. Easier to decorate with and always looks nice.
That sounds beautiful! It takes time to develop your style and overall look. Thrifting is a low-risk way to experiment with different styles and find what works for and feels like you. Glad you found your “thing”! Thanks for watching ♥️
Awesome coats. Nice when u sneak some clothes thrifting in here and there. 😊
The clothes are always a fun surprise! Thanks for watching ♥️
Love the coats! What a blessing!!
Totally!!
If you get a picture of him in the hat I would love to see it...too cute!!!
I tried to capture it at the very very end of this video.. it didn’t last long though hahaha!
Well done! I love that you really were selective! And the cat hat made me chuckle!😂 If you ever do a meet up, let me know! I have always wanted to go on Laura Caldwell (sp?) Portland thrifting day!🎉💛
Oh fun! I’ve never thought of doing a meet up! Thanks for watching ♥️
Great video! You have so much admirable restraint. I've been buying a lot building up stock for a vintage market this weekend. Afterwards, I need to use this kind of restraint for a few months until fall market prep. Your cat is adorable too 😁
Thank you! It’s been a learned skill to restrain myself. I’ve been collecting more than usual again because I plan to re-open my Etsy shop, but I have enough stuff and told myself no more until the shop is live!
You guys have the best thrift stores in the country. I watch a lot of thrifter channels on here. The book racks at the beginning of your video make me sooooo envious!
I’ve picked up on that too. We have so many stores and really affordable prices too! Thanks for watching ♥️
Did I miss something ? You said you spent $88 on $6000 worth of furniture ?
Hi! Yes, you must’ve missed where I broke down what the pieces I thrifted are worth. The dining chairs go for $600-700 PER chair and I got 6. The nightstands go for $1500 for the pair. It’s difficult to know what numbers to use in my titles and thumbnails because value/worth can vary based on where you’re looking. Thanks for watching!
I lucked out I found that same bath tray in box new at the goodwill bins I love mine 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙋🏻♀️
Omg no way! Thats such a lucky find!
I just came across your channel recently and am enjoying it. I live in Vancouver and have been a part-time reseller for 14 yrs, so fun to see you at stores I go to as well as some I don't. The Heywood Wakefield nightstands were an awesome score. I'm sure others have mentioned this before, but I would caution you to not use Charish and 1st Dibs to find comps. Their items are ridiculously overpriced. They are helpful for identification sometimes though. 🙂
Oh hi neighbor! Thanks for the tip on finding comps. One other person mentioned that and I had no idea.
Great .
Prices are high for donated merchandise. Who do they think they are, Goodwill?
Using the wallpaper is should be more than a place holder … looks great!!
Thank you! I actually love it now too!
🩷
The bedroom wall design..👀🤔
It’s loud, I know!
Great finds and great job selling some. I am in love with those teak dining chairs. I couldn't believe how much that cream colored lamp with the raised bumps looks like the Anthropologie vase everyone is crazy for. 😁
Right?! I guess it’s further proof that history repeats itself, even in home decor!
@@homegirlcreative So true!!!
I noticed two lamps at 6:12 of your video. The stems are brushed copper & the bases are slate. They look to be made by Janna Ugone. If you go to her website, you'll see that these table lamps go for $520 each
Oh wow! I had no idea! Thanks for telling me 😊
Hello!, what is the wall paint color?
Hi! It’s called Seedling by Behr.
@@homegirlcreative soooo pretty! Thank you?
@@homegirlcreative !!
Hi from uk Ann loved coming around with you 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hello! Welcome! Thanks for watching ❤️
Love, love the peacock lamp. I love cats too.
🦚 🐈 thanks for watching!
Not that pictures are worth more just Goodwill sees an opportunity to charge more for pictures. Wallpaper picture is cool. Love the bath tray. Turned out lovely.
Great point!
so pretty ❤
Thank you!
You should hit the shops near the Oregon coast! They still have some good prices and lots of places will barter
Thanks for the tip!
Score I live near Oregon so I’ll have to stop by there
You definitely should!
So beautiful 😍 but don't forget to clean everything you got at the thrift store.
Absolutely!
Just Beautiful! I'm doing my bathroom at the moment and it's so hard to choose art for this space!
Thank you! Isn’t it difficult? Thanks for watching ♥️
Very pretty! I love the fact that you used the wallpaper in that way, it’s so pretty! 😊
Thank you so much!
