    The problem is simple and everyone knows it. Yugioh is too complicated. Your progression format/decks at the end would be a good idea.

    A shame you never got into Bandit. Chaining Smokescreen and the Lights Out revolver to reverse skeet-shoot enemies is a blast, especially with crowbars.

  • @Practicalinvestments

    Yugioh tcg is basically being carried by the competitive whales at this point. That’s the state the game is in, if you aren’t a whale that spends thousands a month on yugioh product/cards then there is no point in getting into the game because you will just consistently be fodder for the whales that do spend thousands and frustrate yourself and still spend hundreds just to not even win. But have a slim chance of winning, once.

  • @peekay120
    @peekay120 Před dnem

    Ultimately, I think its called "taking the Maxx C challenge" for a reason, when your opponent resolves Maxx C, you are expected to lose at that point, and playing against it is going to be a massive struggle.

  • @Practicalinvestments

    I can send you my Infinite Forbidden pulls if you want and are still looking for data, It seems very clumped, like a lot of the last few sets have felt this way, either you get 10x of the same expensive card, or 10x of the most useless garbage with no in-between, And it definitely seems clumped based on the data I’ve read as well, But basically my box was a hit, I got a QCR Fiendsmith Engraver, secret rare mulcharmy purulia, and one of the $30 secret rare white woods cards, And then also got 3 ultra rares 2 of which are about $15-20 each So insane pulls, but from the data I’ve read there were literally 50 cases clumped together that had no QCR fiendsmith engraver As well as previously for terminal revenge also seems very clumped, one box gave me almost no ice barrier secret rares and the other gave me nearly all ice barrier secret rares (still evident short prints as I only got 3x spright blue and like 5 each of the others)

      Thanks for the offer of pull results but I'll pass. I have also found that clumping seems to be an issue in boxes ive seen opened.

    These are all really fantastic suggestions, sadly, it will fall on deaf ears, as Konami doesnt give a single shit about the tcg playerbase, they never have, and they never will. Konami would rather abandon the tcg entirely than actually take the steps to fix the systemic issues with the tcg. like others have pointed out, this is not a unique problem with Konami, this is a problem with japanese companies as a whole having a mindset of "japan first, last and always", and there is no solution.

    it's a shame that even "budget" decks end up being around 100 dollars. this just isn't feasible as an introduction point for new players. local game stores don't play on starter deck/structure deck power levels either so you're SOL if you don't have anyone new jumping into the game with you. cardboard really shouldn't cost this much

    • @johnnoreau3570
      @johnnoreau3570 Před 14 hodinami

      $100 dollars for a deck isn’t bad when I’ve spent 500- 1,000 on magic for pioneer or modern.

      Its really cheap compare to other games and massive produce reprints really reduce the prices and prize money is nuts compare to other tcg.

    I think this is the only game where Kiaba is actually a pretty decent guy and Yugi ends up taking credit for your victories, where as Kiaba insures that you will be remembered and even sends you back to your own time as well as making sure you will have the support of his decedents and Yugi doesn't even try to send you back to your own time, you just get stuck in the past and aren't even mentioned or remembered.

    I find it incredible that when I hear that yugioh cant retain their player base 80% of time the alleged reason is that "its too expensive". Yugioh has always been expensive and I mean ALWAYS. If one person can prove to me playing meta was cheap I will concede and be happy. So if the game has alwayd been expensive what changed? The game itself has gotten a bit cringe and hostile. Why would a new player want to play against a bunch of people that take 5 min to combo off and beat him turn one??? Imagine if chess would last one turn, nobody would play or watch it. Hence why people play edison, not necesarily because of the price but because its fun, you interact with your opponent and every turn each player plays keeps changing the tempo of the game keeping you distracted and on your toes. Modern Yugioh right now has no tempo you just make sure your opponent cant play their first turn like a complete jerk, not a healthy game at all.

  • @StonedDragons
    @StonedDragons Před 4 dny

    The problem is that the power creep more or less renders all previous decks unplayable even getting new support, unless that support is so crazy its bound to be abused outside its intended use (aka circular). Take Galaxy-Eyes as an example, the new support done wonderful things for its consistency, it can OTK out of nowhere and often through interruption with any halfway reasonable hand. Now put it up against tearlament, kashtira or anything snake-eyes where everything special summons, everything recurs and everything is a 1 card starter so they can play half their deck as out of archetype hand traps that is just hell to go into.

    I like the idea, but it will never happen. TCG boxes are cardboard equivalent to slot machines. Turns out Konami is a company mostly associated with gambling. Here is my take on the ideal way to fix yugioh products: 1. Remove TCG exclusives from core sets and put them in an exclusive product for the TCG. OCG and TCG should get the same cards in the same core sets card for card. 2. Stop short printing cards (again) and improve card quality. 3. Stop producing deck building sets and go back to structure decks. 4. Merge the ban lists again while separating the when the list go into effect, or have a world wide release date even if it means less products per year. 5. The F/L list should not be used to push product and be used for its intended purpose. 6. There should only be 2 reprint sets a year. 1 for cards released within the year at the end of the year (replacing the advent calendar) and 1 in the middle of the year right before or after nats reprinting older cards just enough to keep prices reasonable, but still enough to give people value. Either way the tins would just be replaced with boxes and promos can be placed within the box. 7. The cost of boxes should be reduced to 55 USD plus tax and the number of products per year should be reduced. Product fatigue sucks and when the product constantly sucks, it feels worse. (1 quarterly core set. 1 annual wave of 2 structure decks, 1 TCG exclusive set, and 2 reprint sets)

    • @MonkeyFightTCG
      @MonkeyFightTCG Před 4 dny

      Very few card games are good at caring about thier players. Most Japanese companies only care about their Japanese playerbase like konami or are so large and old they take years for change like Bandai. Often both like bushiroad. Western companies struggle alot with western corporate greed and culture meaning all the issues that come with that. WOTC is the poster child for this. Pokemon still does okay. I really wish I liked the tcg as much as yugioh or one piece. Mosr Other indie games are okay, but it feels like most of them are actively speedruning 30 years of tcg mistakes.
