For Q6 first slide when they ask to name identifier for private method do you need to add the double underscore before the name
When it's just the name/identifier, you don't have to. If it asks for the private method then you will. You shouldn't be penalised. But ofc better save then sorry, so if it's identifier you don't need to cuz underscore essentially tells you that it's private.
At 6:50 why did you have to add an extra method for the Pattern class, can you explain that please?
It's because we r overriding that in our cells class. We can only override it if it has been declared before. Adding the IsWild method to both the Cell class (from which WildCardCell inherits) and the WildCardCell class itself is necessary to distinguish between regular cells and wildcard cells. This distinction allows the program to identify and handle wildcard cells appropriately, particularly when checking for pattern matches and placing symbols. In Cell Class: It provides a default behaviour for all cells, returning False to indicate that regular cells are not wildcards. This ensures any cell instance can be checked for being a wildcard, regardless of its actual type. In WildCardCell Class: This method overrides the default behaviour, returning True to specifically identify instances of WildCardCell as wildcards. This allows the program to differentiate wildcards from regular cells during pattern checks and scoring. The IsWild method allows the program to distinguish between wildcard and non-wildcard cells. By adding it to both the Cell and WildCardCell classes, we ensure that all cells can be checked for being wildcards, with WildCardCell instances correctly identified as such. I hope it make sense 😬
@@callmehumonyh that makes sense thanks

What questions do you think the last two !4 markers could be?
Predicting the exact questions is a little trickyy. However, if you thoroughly understand the questions on the zigzag doc, you'll be well-prepared for whatever comes your way.
Let's hope it's some double cell point or wild card
@darkbrotherhood5363 idk how to do neither of them😭
@@mushifiqurrahman2630 Try n ace through all the other sections. You only need about 70 marks for an A* 🥲😥
@@mushifiqurrahman2630 u can still get marks even if u don't get it. Like copying the blocked cell class and editing that to the task. I think for one of my mocks I litterary copied a loop, sent it in and got 2 marks 💀

@@callmehumon do you have the C# version of these documents? no worries if not! thanks
@@amanda-we9fv unfortunately I don't. So sorryy. All the best with ur exam :)
@@callmehumon thank you regardless:)
im so worried for Section C and D :((
At this point, you might want to memorise some of the important programming questions and hope those come up! Personally, if you understand all the zigzag question well, you should be fine!
@@callmehumon once im done with the links you've sent, would that mean id be okay? im really aiming for an A, paper 2 is okay for me but its paper 1 thats the main issue :((
@@callmehumon which ones should i memorise???
@@Synzoku If you feel confident with pretty much any questions being asked in sections A and C (everything covered in the PDF/spec), that secures you 50 marks right away. Now, you need about 40/50 on both papers to get an A, and about 70/80 for an A*. So, realistically estimating, Insh'Allah, you'll be good.
@@m27w93 If I were u I will focus on understanding everything for sure and in terms of memorising it's pretty unpredictable which definition they might put so I wanna say everything...cuz the pdf covers everything from the spec. But if u understand it fully n are able to talk about it then you should be fine.
Thank you so much !! this is so helpful
the links don't work
You might have to copy/paste it in the browser!
for q 3 on the last slide, is that something that is actually on the spec? I can see it says you have to have experience coding with virtual and abstract methods, but i cant see where it says you need to know the definitions. If you do need to, do you know where i can learn them? because they arent on the physicsmathstutor slides. Thanks
Yes u r right about that. It's more commonly used in C#. Please refer to this if u need to understand it better: www.trccompsci.online/mediawiki/index.php/Abstract_-_Virtual_-_Static

Hey All, I wanted to address an important correction regarding the UML diagram I used in the explanation. Public: Attributes and methods that can be accessed from anywhere. In Python, these do not have any underscores at the beginning (e.g., def method(self)) - denoted with a + sign Protected: Attributes and methods intended for internal use within the class and its subclasses. They start with a single underscore (_) (e.g., def _method(self)) - denoted with a # sign Private: Attributes and methods intended for internal use only within the class where they are defined. They start with double underscores (__) (e.g., def __method(self)) - denoted with a - sign. --> Also, the diagram incorrectly used arrows between classes, which in UML diagrams imply inheritance. Instead, it should have used a line representing association.
You also used arrows between classes when you shouldn't have, as arrows imply inheritance
Yep! U r right. My bad. I should have doubled checked before using it.
I think you got the public, private and protected specifiers wrong in the UML diagram
Yes u r rightt !!! Apologies. I got the diagram off another ppt. I should have double checked :)
Tysmm for pointing it out btw! I have added a comment about it now
yo just lyk idk if u know this or not but ur saying pattern wrong
Thanks for pointing that out! Can I pls ask which part r u referring to?
@callmehumon just everything. I think u r pronouciating it pat-rr-n. It it's really pronounced pat-err-n. Just search up how to pronounce it. Either way your content is great it doesn't really matter tbh
@@vas9277 lol 😂 I thought you meant the actual pattern in the puzzle, so I was a bit confused. I guess, we learn n improve everyday

Yes definitely a lot more straightforward :) All the best with Ur exams 🙌🏻
Hello! What was the answer to the last slide question 2 at 5:43? It seems to be blurred out in the video
Apologies, an example of composition association in the code is the relationship between Puzzle and Cell Class. Composition is a strong form of association where the part (e.g., a Cell) cannot exist independently of the whole (e.g., a Puzzle). If the whole is destroyed, the parts are also destroyed.
You are so helpful in explaining the code! Absolute life saver ❤❤
