IGUNNU KO TEKO DOCUMENTARY
Igunnu Ko is a fascinating symbol on sight, aside from its height and Charistmata that we know now, the cultural belief of its worshippers by the Tapa people has remained the same since 1805. When I imagine the Orisha Igunnu itself, it is its height, it is a symbol of strength and individuality, it is also growth and these are non-coincidentally the similarities found with trees. Cameras aren't allowed at the rituals on the eve of its festival, this is a beautiful thing that stands to preserve the rich and magical culture and is left open for those who wish to understand its purpose. Just like all other traditional and secret cults, some might never fully understand the Orisa Igunnus visit to the human world, unless of course one is open to full initiation into this peculiar tribe, and holds their experiences and testimonies high.
