You can also show them images with the screen of the camera. That works too!

My 50mm 1.2L spends most of its time as well in its flight case as well while I carry on with my main squeeze (the 28-70) and my new side piece (the 24-105 2.8), until I have an assignment which calls for that aperture or the utmost in lens quality at that focal length. Architecture, landscape, still life, low-light, and especially long-form video where I have the 50 1.2 manually focused and mounted on a tripod as a safety angle (dance theater and recital recording). Nothing beats this lens when you have the time and space to use it.

Love this ! I don’t believe my Flashpoint strobe has TTL. How can I accomplish this in manual/regular mode ? Just adjust power until I get the lighting I want for the space ?

I don’t miss at all the 50 f/1.2 with my 28-70 f/2 except on indoor in short space.

I bought both the RF28-70 and the RF 85 1.2 from Canon as open box or refurb and at the same time bought the Canon 4-year warranty that covers drops etc for right at the same price as a brand new lens with a 1-year warranty. Very satisfied with that purchase.

Hi Vanessa. In your opinion if you had to do it all over again would you have gotten both 50 & the 28-70 lens?

I use Evoto Ai because it’s the only I know so far. I’ve done two successful projects with it.

50mm - never wide enough, never tight enough. I’d rather bet one way or the other 35 or 85.

Where does Evoto Ai rank?

I am a Panasonic GH5 user till date , though a great camera it has a very bad autofocus ,the way cannon locks to the subject is dope ! Does the eos R5 have IBIS and can it record to an external ssd ?

Vanessa.... Question do you find the R5ii has better Dynamic range than the R5i for photography??? And what camera is better for DR between the 2 new cameras. I had the opportunity of trying out the new Fujifilm 100Sii and a few lenses for a week. Slow AF but wow amazing DR. Got spoiled with that.....haha would like to improve that with one of the new cameras.

My main camera is the R3 but when using the R5 I added the vertical grip. When using the 28-70 its front heavy so the grips do help to balance the weight from camera to lens :)

Would you pretty please consider producing a short-ish video on the relative quality trade-off of fixed versus zoom. We're all chock full of opinions but do YOU really and truly think, all other things being equal, that a photo shot at 50mm on a 20-70 is that much worse than a photo shot on a fixed 50? Thanks!

Waste of money. 50 1.4 is all you need. The nifty 50 refers to 50 1.8 lenses. Not 1.2 has to do with affordability.

I bought the 50 1.2 about six months ago. It hasn't come off the camera since I picked it up. It's literally perfect.

RF 28-70f2 with the RF85f1.2, the two are the best combination - even if I miss my 50f1.2😅

I want an AF 50mm 1.0 like they made decades ago but it focuses fast!. It can even have some chromatic aberation and fuzzy corners, doesnt' have to be optically perfect and clinically sharp. for now the EF 50mm 1.2 works fine for me and it's a lot more affordable.

I don't think a $2300, 2lbs lens fits the idea of a "nifty fifty". 😂

I love my zooms, but the lack of lens stabilization on the 28-70 has me returning it. Had to many candid shots that weren't tack sharp with my R5 than like with the 50mm and the 24-70.
