Hi! Good question - the main reason for me was the fact that I'm a Canadian citizen which means that I would be paying domestic tuition and have easy access to grants and loans. If I attended a school in the states it would cost significantly more. In terms of opportunities yes, the US may have more but Canada still has a good business sector. If ever I decided to move to the states there are ways to do so.

That are generally the same, just a matter of the name. Rotman, for example is a BCom vs. Schulich is a BBA. I would look at the actual program content and school.

Hey, to start off you definitely haven't made a mistake. Make sure to take a moment to recognize what you've accomplished and getting into Schulich isn't "easy". People will always say stuff like that no matter where you are ... grass always seems greener. It's way too early in your university journey to be thinking about a high paying job, use first year to get a feel for things, attend clubs and events. If the curriculum hasn't changed your first intro to finance is 2nd year regardless. Schulich may not be the top target school for finance (specifically investment banking) but that doesn't mean no one gets there. I have lots of freinds who got into finance. My main suggestions would be to reach out to upper years / alumni in finance to understand their roles and how they got there. Sstudy and learn outside of your classes - try to get relevant experience through part time jobs, internships side courses etc. Keep good grades.. You can also potentially look into transferring to ivey as their business program starts year 3 (I know 1 or 2 people who did it ... you do have to grind as its limited spots).

Have you met anybody from Schulich before you joined Schulich. It's five months since you posted You only know what you are looking at when you pass out MBA from Schulich business school. I have no confidence and trust and am wary of guys pedalling for an education institute.

Hello, I haven't met anyone from Schulich yet. My program starts in September, so I haven't started yet. I need to take out a loan of about 95k CAD for the tuition fee and would like to know if it's worth it? Would one be able to pay back within 5 years comfortably? Thank you.

There isn't necessarily a set amount I cam give you, but if it's on the busier end it could be 40-80 hours a week (anything over 60 is extreme and probably only a few unique instances). On the lower end it could be 20-40 hours.

Great point, thanks for catching that! The numbers in my video come from the 2021 report (which covers the class of 2021) - I did this intentionally, as the other three schools covered only have reports for the Class of 2021 at this time. This way there is a fair comparison. I will be making an updated video when all reports for the Class of 2022 are available. Hope this clarifies!

Rotman (UofT) and Schulich (York University) are in Toronto. Queens University is Kingston, Ontario and Ivey (Western University) is in London, Ontario. Both are about 2-3 hrs from Toronto.

Hi! BBA is a great degree it's very flexible allowing you to work in a variety of jobs and industries. In regard to the scope of the job market, most are concentrated in the GTA area. I have friends and family who've gone through the PR route and haven't heard any significant setbacks. I'm by no means an expert but from my limited experience I would say your son has a decent chance.
