    This was very helpful to me. I have two minor disc bulges. Both have annular fissures with small central disc protrusion. My doctor thinks the one at L5-S1 is what is causing my discomfort. It has been frustrating to me because I have been dealing with this for about 6 months. After about a month I was feeling much better and I gradually felt better every month until I hit the 4 month mark. Since then I have had a few set backs (which I did not expect). Both my chiropractor and doctor told me that the disc needs to heal and that I would likely have set backs until it does heal. I could not see how that would happen. I am wondering if the healing will be gradual and I will slowly feel better or will I wake up one day 6 months or more from now and just feel better? In the meantime, it does make sense to try to find the balance of working on my core while not irritating the disc/nerves.

    Thanks so much for posting this! I was a PT with neuro specialty, also did backs but not my specialty. I think I have an annular tear. I am doing some PT with neutral spine and avoiding lifting pushing pulling bending and twisting. I started doing extension exercises on my own that seemed to let me sit longer than 5 minutes without getting stuck... now with neutral spine I'm seeming to get worse... or was it that I had to sit a long time...

    I spend 10 - 11 hour shifts in an office chair with few or many times no breaks. I admit I have poor posture and slouch with my pelvis moving forward in the seat, especially later on in the long shift. I notice stffness when I get up and now when I walk I have shooting mild pain in my left glut and down my left thigh. The glut pain feels deep and around where the bone attaches to the muscle. Could this be early sciatica or a hamstring injury from prolonged sitting?

    If I have an annular tear that you showed up on the Mri and it is absolutely positively causing extreme pain on both sides of my sacroiliac joint, is it safe to slowly build my core gently when I have an annular tear from L5-S1 also there are some bulging discs and some arthritis and other discs all in the lower lumbar that all show up in the most recent MRI plus some spondylosis and disc degenerative disease, I was bowling a year and a half ago and then I got depressed and spent two months in bed which made my core totally horrible, I cannot be on my feet more than five hours or I am in excruciating pain the only thing that has helped me right now Is having four oblations done Under twilight sleep which actually next month will be the fourth one, is it dangerous to slowly work on my core now slowly and carefully???? I have done physical therapy and I t didn’t do anything And I am doing acupuncture and the only time that helps for a little while is when he hooks up some electricity to the needles during acupuncture I have wasted 13 visits and now he is trying the electricity and it helps for a little bit, thank you in advance you are absolutely phenomenal

    • @supermushroom3175
      @supermushroom3175 Před 8 měsíci

      Annular tears never heal despite claims they do. PT, massages, chiropractic care, steroid injections, etc are worthless for this condition. They are designed to ransack our wallets. We have a physical tear inside our bodies that will never heal because there is no blood supply in our spine discs. The only real option is fusion or artificial disc replacement. That's it. Unfortunately spine tech is still in the stone ages and those are currently the only two stone age procedures that can potentially resolve the pain

    You obviously don't know a lot about osteopathy, adjustments are ok if physiotherapists use them but "catastrophic " if chiropractors use them, that's what it sounds like this guy's saying, makes no sense

  • @footyball66
    @footyball66 Před rokem

    In my experience chiropractors are useless. The one I went to told me they could fix me in 12 weeks. Adjustments did nothing to improve my injury. After 5 treatments of adjustments I was told to do 3 stretches for just 1 week and all my back issues would disappear.....I did those stretches for 3 weeks and had zero improvement, then stopped going to the chiropractor. One other thing.... they adjusted my neck in order to fix my back..... there was no reason to do so..... my neck was perfectly fine, but to cut a long story short, they adjusted me without allowing me to relax.

    • @Faithandseekerofchrist
      @Faithandseekerofchrist Před 9 měsíci

      The same thing happened to me when I got a neck injury and I was laying on the table but I wasn't fully relaxed and then she used the activator on both sides of my neck and I felt a huge shock and then I felt really light-headed and dizzy. Later on, I went 24 hours without sleep and then I had extreme heart palpitations and was screaming in agony because my pain intensified on my neck and head. My ribs are also very sore because she worked on them as well and now they hurt way worse and the last time I went was a week ago! She wanted me to go three to four times a week and even when I did pay the co-pays it was still very expensive and she knew that I was on medical leave! NEVER AGAIN! I guess the reason why I went was because my doctors weren't available because of the holidays and they are usually booked during the holidays. But the point is is that when it comes to your health, you can't take shortcuts. But even Physical Therapy would be a better option but I wouldn't feel comfortable going until I have my primary doctors recommendation and on top of that I'm getting a MRI.

      It's a good thing that they do because going to a chiropractor actually made me worse! I mean a physical therapist may be painful but at least they actually educate you and help you on how to better improve your posture and exercises and work with your muscles. I'm going to see if my doctor recommends a physical therapist but I'm definitely getting an MRI next month.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Hell is real and Heaven is also real. You don't want to spend an eternity in Hell torment without God. The only way to escape Hell is to follow Jesus Christ our Lord and saviour. The video states... who's best for lower back pain ? It depends, a qualification doesn't always determine how good that Practitioner is... Some people can have a good talk but doesn't reflect in their treatment Also all occupations at the core have different training.. They were taught different principles, different skillsets, and different treatment systems How they see the person, and the condition is different Yes they all can treat pain, but HOW they treat is another story... and how isn't just about techniques either This gentlemans description of Osteopathy is not accurate at all...

    Thank you for this very informative advice! I've pulled my hamstring 3 weeks ago, It's a grade 1 injury, in the upper third, starting some 4cm from the tendon, that was determined by an ultrasound. I had 1 week of RICE, 2 weeks of magnetic, and tekar therapy, side by side. Now I'm at the end of week 3, and I still can feel the injury. I don't feel the pain, but some kind of inconvenient sensation that is not allowing me to run any faster than my fast-walking pace. I'm 35 yrs old trail runner and being so much of the track really keeps me worried, as I supposed my treatment will get me back to training slowly at this point, but no way I can do it. This is my first hamstring injury ever. I can also feel my leg loosing a bit of strenght now. Do you have any advice? Thank you so much.

    I have a bachelors in Physiotherapy and a doctorate in Osteopathy. I also do high velocity techniques when needed. I do acute care using Osteopathy and a bit of exercise. When the condition is more stable, I transition from manual therapy to active exercise. All profession has their own bad eggs. It's up to the patient to find someone who can treat their condition the best. Truth be told, you can be doing the best well researched treatment plan for a condition but it still won't work for a specific patient. Instead of stating the negative of a profession, educate the patients on what you do and how you do it.
