Just intended to give a good idea of what they look like under the water. You do get some horizontal movements here. I just unfortunately do not have a big swimming pool to show the baits. But I was more getting to the tail action and rolling of the bait. Appreciate the feedback tho

3/0 was what I was using. Could definitely get away with a 2/0 as well. Depends on the brand and application. I was using a gamakatsu 3/0 heavy flipping hook

I mean to get fish out of the thick grass and not loose them you need to set the hook hard and winch them out fast. Big fish don't fly out of the mat lol

Hah, I mean if I didn't set the hook hard I would loose fish. Just unfortunate for this guy he was smaller than the average frog fish and ate right next to the boat. Got to drive the hooks home, I've lost many fish on bad hooksets.

Because he was too small, and I didn't want to keep him anyway. Want to let them grow for the next time we catch him

How can I tell it's big through the matted grass? You have to assume they will all be big or you won't set the hook hard enough when you do get a big one.

You were using a Topwater, right?

Yes, a top water hollow body frog. If you look up other people's videos I guarantee they set the hook that hard. This one was just unfortunate enough to be small and eat close to the boat. Reflexes kicked in. Setting the hook hard is important for frog fishing with the heavy duty hooks and the frog body you need to get out of the way. Not go mention needing the momentum to bring fish through the matted vegetation
