If you do an internet search for a 1981 rabbit diesel battery, you'll come up with group size 41. I pulled my fleet farm battery out today, part number 36R72, still at 12.7 volts, 7 1/2 yrs old. new battery is Duracell AGM battery part number SLI48AGM.

These look awesome but then I noticed that they look EXACTLY the same as the lasfit brand. The tire tread is identical. Do you know anything about that or if there's a difference that I'm missing?
I'm not aware of the lasfit brand! But what I can say is I still love my 3W!

More tips and tricks: 1 the stupid BCK screws dont fit in the holes theyre supposed to....but they also dont perfectly fit in a 7/16' socket, meaning if you try to force them, youll just spin the socket, had to jam cardboard in with the screw to get it working. 2 getting the gas bracket thing onto the ball joints is a huge pain. Even after using needlenose pliers to open the little tabs. You can see the tabs are connected around the back and if you look, when you needle nose the two tabs, the part in back expands a little making a hole. if you jam something into that little hole, it opens the tabs enough to get it installed correctly
I’m at 1.7 not sure why it’s not locking into place when pushing front and rear panels downward. Any advice?

0W-20 oil is just for environmental protection purposes to make emissions look better
The manual says to add 0W-20 oil, but I think that is too thin, can we use 0W-30?

Hey man I got almost the same kit from CVF but keep having issues with alignment. I followed the instructions to the T yet my belt keeps wearing off along the outer edge of the serpentine belt closer to the rad. I also noticed that on the idler pully in that it's not aligned properly. I noticed a gap in the air compressor pully. What do you recommend doing
Can you add some spacers to align? Might help to put a straight edge in there where you can to check alignment. I had the bouchelon performance kit before and when turn on the ac, it all ran off the alternator fully and caused too much load and the belt would squeel with ac on. The cvf kit stopped the problem. Also, is everything turning freely? Is your ac pump good? If alignment perfect, maybe something siezing, raising hell on your belt. Hope this helps. After I was done my back ached for 3 days, being hunched over the car wrenching.

ONE MORE TIP: When putting the pistons on the ball joints, take a small enough flat head on the back side of the socket for the ball and socket piston and slightly pry the springs open while inserting the ball into the joint. Otherwise they might bend and you'll have to fix it or get out replaced.

That's nothing. I had a buddy with a Rabbit Diesel back in the mid 80s. On a cold start at -20C, the instrument cluster would vibrate 3-4 inches. Eventually cracked every circuit board in that poor beast.

Sounds like you've done the right things! I've had that happen a few x, no suction, in my case, I didn't have the tank lever locked in! Are you getting cleaning solution spraying to the carpet? I'm assuming yes. I wonder if something somewhere is plugged! I wish I could be more help!

I can smell coolant after driving, can’t spot any leaks and coolant cap seemed to have gotten loose as I saw some coolant outside of the cap. 30k miles anything I should check?
First time hearing of a coolant cap getting loose on its own. You might need a new cap.

@ferrasjr3653 when I bought my M5, the previous owner had paperwork from a bmw dealership that showed they recently replaced the hoses and heatshields. Not from what I saw!
I also noticed the coolant was low in both reservoirs on my x6m but the sensor did not read as such so I’ll have to go ahead and diagnose that. But in the meantime, thank you so much.

The directions are so vague on how to attach the hinges. These directions have about driven me nuts. I’m almost ready to take it back to Costco…. Thanks for your help.

What thermostat are you running
I found that that if you assemble the lid lock latch to the bracket prior to attaching it to the lid, it will work perfectly. You just have to insert the bolt from the back of the bracket. For the latch that’s located on the front of the container, I found that if you insert the Phillips head bolt from the front of the container and the nuts on the inside, there will be no interference between the two latches. Although the directions were pretty bad, it’s a solid storage bin.

I will never let anyone change the oil on my vehicles. I purchased a new 24 Explorer and they told me I get 6 free oil changes with it. I said, if it’s free, give me 6 filters and all of the oil. They looked at me like I had two heads? I left the Ford dealer with 6 filters and 30 quarts of oil.
Ya it was only at the dealer because it was "crank, no start". They replaced the ecu. Was it an honest mistake overfilling? Or was it because I told him it burns oil? Who knows.

@TJ-qz6hr At the 4,954 mile point, I added oil 2x. So I told the service advisor it was burning oil. I picked the jeep up at dealer, drove it home yesterday, and today I popped the hood, checked the oil and it was over-filled one quart. Which is why I was sucking out the oil in this video. So you might be thinking, hey, maybe YOU overfilled it by adding that quart before it got towed into the dealer! I took a picture of the dipstick showing it was low, like, below the hash marks low, also the picture shows color on the dipstick indicating some age to the oil. The picture I took today is clean oil, checked several x, clearly over-filled by a quart. I bought that sucker to suck brake fluid from the master cylinder for doing brake fluid flushes. But it came in handy today. Either the bone head accidentally over-filled it, or they put extra oil in for when I come back in 1500 miles to check my oil, and at that point, the oil level would have been at the full level. I've heard overfilling can cause all kinds of different problems, all of which I don't want to find out. If I don't have to, I won't be bringing it back there. The day I bought it, I noticed the battery cover under passenger seat was lifted up, I looked at it, and found a broken tab. I brought it in, and showed them. Then I waited THREE HOURS for a tech guy to look at it and I get the vehicle back with them telling me they ordered the part. Week later, part is in! Come on in and we will replace. I come in, wait 2 hrs for the cover to be replaced, they tell me it's done, I get home and looked. Nope. Not replaced. I looked up the part number what they DID supposedly replace, a fuse cover under the hood. And that's when I SHOWED them the broken cover UNDER THE SEAT. Not under the hood. They're stupid. I don't want to deal with more idiotic bullshit because I've dealt with their stupid before.

Wow, that is crazy. I guess if u got a killer deal on it that would be one thing but if not and it’s within lemon law I would try and return. That’s horrendous to have a brand new vehicle not start like that. Would make me fear what’s to come as it ages

Hi, I just bought this and what terrible directions!! I have had to improvise literally almost everything. I'm at the point where I'm putting the hardware on the top...the directions for the hinges are not clear. I have given up for the night but will attempt the finish soon. Do you have any suggestions for the hinges? This feels so flimsy. I had no success putting it together upside down then flipping it, that was a joke. I put it together standing up. Thanks for the video and tips...the company doesn't have this model assembly on CZcams. Oh, I'm putting together the picnic table that I bought with the deck box....wish me luck 😂
I feel your pain. The hinges don't seem to go on the way the pictures show, as they both are the same, not a right/left, and then when you try and put it together it doesn't seem to go, we tried again, attaching the hinge and everything went together but there was a point where it didn't seem like it was going to go. Where my directions were CLEARLY wrong was what I showed in the video, that bracket piece, if put together exactly as shown, will be 1 inch away so you have to flip it the other way. And then without drilling a couple holes, for relief of the hardware I can't see how it would go together otherwise. And then I needed the big clamps I showed. How many people out there have clamps like that? If you have some C clamps that would work as well, to use them to pull the top bar up tight to the lid so you can run the screws in. Hope this helps. All in all I didn't swear too much, but there were enough sticky points where I'm like, ok, I need to make a video about this so if people get stuck they have a point of reference. I don't regret buying it, but the directions show that someone made them and clearly didn't test them on people. And and here's the deal... if someone reading this is saying/thinking, I had zero problems dude! My response is, well they clearly updated the directions and the plastic pieces, specifically where I had to drill the holes in the lid.

Acknowledged. Yep, all I did is plugged it into the outlet inside the poleshed closest to the house which ended up being a garage door opener outlet up above. Super easy!
