It’s amazing how different themes are used throughout the Secrets Can Kill soundtrack. The Fear Danger theme is most prevalent, but you can also notice that Mystery Light at 2:50 is almost like the slowed down, minor key of the Aunt Eloise House theme at 9:14

Thank you for this absolute gem of a study mix- the song choices, the transitions, the length are all perfect. I've studied to this so many times that it now instantly puts my brain into work mode in the coziest way!

Danger on Deception Island isn't in my top favorite games, but I do still love it a lot for a variety of reasons. One is that it involves the ocean and sea creatures. Orcas happen to be one of my most FAVORITE animals, so I remember when I first played the game, I was in awe that an orca turned out to be a pivotal part of it! 😁😄😊🥰😍🤩❤ And the moment when you finally have Nancy get an up close and personal encounter with her? TOTALLY AWESOME MOMENT!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Another reason why I love DDI is all the exploring you have to do in it. It's one of the earliest games that doesn't start off with Nancy intending to solve a mystery, but transitions into one. As the game unfolds, however, you find that more than one crime scenario is taking place, what with the vandalism of Katie's boat, the burglaries of the Hot Kettle and two other stores, the discovery of the wood from the Whitechapel Dawn, and the "fishy activity" Hilda mentions to Nancy. And yet another reason why I love this game is because of the awesome soundtrack! 😁❤😁❤ I love the soundtrack pieces "Jig" and "Discovery 1" the most, and I think it's because they sound so happy and upbeat! "Pub" and "Caves" are also very pleasant, and "Mystery" lives up to its name by providing an air of mystery to the plot, as does the "Caddy" piece. So yeah, this game has amazing music, too! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Collecting clams was a major pet peeve for me when I first played this game because I missed those rocks that Nancy has to hop to on that small beach to collect the last two clams. 😠😤😡 But now I have memorized how to successfully complete this task. Eleven clams are on that beach, and the last four are at the lighthouse. Yes, DDI has also made me want to go to Washington and check out the whale museum, as well as spot wild orca pods! But I've been wanting to do that for a long time before this game, and really from the first time I saw Free Willy, one of my favorite movies ever, in 1993. 😉😊 AND I LOVE Finding Nemo! 😁 It's one of my very favorite Pixar films! ❤ I adore Finding Dory, too! DEFINITELY a great sequel to explain Dory's story! 👍🏻 I like to do impressions of the humpback whale, too! 😆 Your impressions of most of these cetaceans, and even Andy's line "Whales rule!" are good, but a little silly, too! I can't even bring myself to imitate the orca sound! 🤣 I've even heard that sound effect in a few movies, and recognized it because of this game! 😯😲😮😵

Wow! I have not been able to play the OG only the remastered, so how fun!

My favorite song of all of this soundtrack is Matinatta (4:41) because it reminds me of an Italian version of Super Mario Galaxy Comet Observatory.

Golden Age of Nancy Drew Music 1998-2008 expect for those songs that are annoying, like Secret of the Old Clock, The Final Scene, The Haunted Carousel, and The Creature of Kapu Cave but at least those games have some good songs.

An underrated classic from this game would definitely be Warm (5:42), my favorite one of all of this game's songs, it's so good.

One of my favorite Nancy Drew soundtracks. My favorite track is Recorder (8:47) because it reminds me of listening to old Baby Einstein music 1997-2004.

The Haunted Carousel is definitely one of the Nancy Drew games that I like because I do enjoy the majority of the earliest Nancy Drew games between Secrets Can Kill and Danger on Deception Island. But it's one of those that I rank in "likes", by which I mean, while I do like it, I don't love it nor is it one of my favorite games. Heck, I actually enjoy Danger on Deception Island more than The Haunted Carousel. I guess I feel this way about it because Carousel is not a history mystery that involves finding hidden treasure. And despite the title featuring the word "haunted", it in no way has a strong aura of being scary or truly mysterious, unlike the crimes in most of the preceding games. I found that to be quite odd since its teaser that is featured at the end of Ghost Dogs made it sound much scarier and more sinister. And I mean, sure, just like Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake, Carousel has some mysterious, difficult-to-explain events taking place that most people might brush off as haunted or cursed. But even before I started playing the both of them, I did not believe for one second that the "ghost dogs" were true ghosts, nor that the carousel was actually haunted. If I could name just one thing that I have learned from playing these games for decades, it's that there is ALWAYS a logical explanation for anything that seems out of the ordinary...although I will admit, some of the hauntings in both Message in a Haunted Mansion and Ghost of Thornton Hall do seem too extraordinary to be explained by simple logic. 😨😨😨 And again, regardless of its title, The Haunted Carousel is in no way a scary game, and neither is Ghost Dogs. Message and Thornton Hall, however, do get my votes as being some of the scariest games in the series, with the scariest of all being Shadow at the Water's Edge!!! 😱😱😱 One of the minor reasons I do like Haunted Carousel is because it has several hidden cookies and references to its most recent predecessors. Here they all are: -When repairing the card reader of the roller coaster, or the Barnacle Blast game, you can see notes from a "Nick F.", as in Nicholas Falcone from The Final Scene. The second note uses the words "fight the power", which was Nicholas's catchphrase. -There is a red handprint on the door inside the roller coaster, a clear reference to Secret of the Scarlet Hand. -Elliot has a painting by Poppy Dada (Secret of the Scarlet Hand) in his office and he mentions that he met her. -Joy's notepad has a picture of a dog, which looks like one of the Rottweilers from Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake. After Ghost Dogs and Haunted Carousel, future Nancy Drew games contained many cookies to previous games, such as the recurring appearance of Koko Kringle bars and other related products, and those references gave me an even greater reason to enjoy these games! 😁😄😊🥰❤ I remember that Haunted Carousel was the first game in the series to feature Sassy Detective Awards. But whenever I play it and Deception Island, I never get any award other than Puzzle Master. In fact, even in the later games up until White Wolf of Icicle Creek, I rarely get anything other than awards you get for solving puzzles fast, which is disappointing because even though I love solving the games' puzzles quickly, it would be nice to occasionally get the other kinds of awards they offer. Heck, in the games that have an Easter egg, I rarely even get the awards they have for that even when I find them! 😠😠😠
