Is This The Breakout Year? | DC United Homegrown Players In 2021
2021 is a year with big changes for DC United. A new coach, Hernan Losada, will be changing the way DC United plays and we will be watching closely to see how the young players fit into the new system. The DC United homegrown players could be set to breakout this year and thrive under a new coach and in this video we take a look at each one. Currently there are 6 homegrown players on DC United's roster: Bill Hamid, Donovan Pines, Moses Nyeman, Griffin Yow, Kevin Paredes, and Jacob Greene. Let me know your thoughts below!

Yeah sure it's cool you know being our stadium and all but the design is awful. It was $500 million but you have teams like LAFC, MNUFC, FCC that have cheaper but WAY better stadiums. The Heineken roof thing is a joke, they need to finish the stadium.

It’s still to early for that, plus mls would have to agree to lose some control over its teams which will never happen. The use is going to have to go for this to work but this would be cool to see with in the next 20 years.

The best part of the 2020 season was finally letting the HGs have their time to shine. They got plenty of minutes due to being sturdy and not getting injured like everyone else. Last season showed we have amazing talent who should be developed properly. Paredes, in particular, would make a great LW/LWB since he's crafty and has a great defensive rate. My one fear for next season is the young guys not getting enough minutes. The team has brought on a ton of new forward depth and will be signing more midfielders which will clog up playing time between players. I just hope these guys get more time to shine so they can be sent to Europe and DC can actually get a payday.

I'm all for Pro-Rel but USL needs to be on solid footing with MLS-caliber stadiums and a national TV contract before it could happen.

"Haitus" is a nice way of saying downward spiral lol. I believe in order for true change to happen Kasper, the owners, or both need to be kicked out. But I have faith in the new guy who seems like he actually wants to make a difference. Ben is a great human and is a legend but his firing was overdue.

Also, correction on the video: "Orejas" was an essential part to Peru making the Copa America 2019 final, not just the semifinals. He scored the opening goal to Peru v Chile and started the score to an epic Peruvian game. :)

Great video, I really appreciate your work on "Orejas." I'm Peruvian and have been watching this kid play since he was 17. I'm excited to see him come to the MLS and be given the honor of wearing the great DC United #10 that once belonged to El Diablo Etcheverry.

All the leagues should stick it to the MLS and make their own league system with promotion and relegation it’s sad that one league is trying to dictate the whole league system that would be like the English premier league trying to tell the English F.A. They call the shots it’s sad and your not alone the elite clubs here in Europe are trying to force UEFA to make the champions league a closed shop with only the elite teams sorry but if you win your European country’s premier league you should have the right to participate in the champions league regardless of what European country it is and how popular that league is

@Joe Public I’m from Dallas and I don’t feel fc Dallas represents me in any way. I don’t want to make the drive all the way to frisco to watch them. Or could u imagine DFW area having 3-4 teams in MLS that earned their way there.or a team from Waco or some random town in the Midwest. Imagine a player like Vinicius jr in2033 playing for inter Miami going to an away match in Ottumwa, Iowa haha I mean isn’t promotion and relegation like the American dream?
