Volley challenge across a pool, who fails first? Would this be a good Youtube and TikTok challenge?
This is a skill tennis players can practice anywhere and have fun doing so. Find something you can volley over, across or through. Should we do a TikTok challenge to get tennis players to try something similar?

String Review: Toroline Wasabi & Toroline Super Toro blended with Restring Sync
Love this project. Be good to know if you tried a range of tensions
Thank you. No, but going forward my default string tension will be 48lbs. This should be the most happy medium for most players to get the most out of the reviews
It takes more than one session to get used to an extended racket and see the benefits. In my case it improved both my forehand and my backhand. I agree that it's not good at the net, and not necessary better on the serve. In my opinion it's not a good option only for small players, it depends more on your stroke style. Doesnt work for one haqnded back hand and people that put a lot of spin. But you can get a lot of easy power with an extended if you play with not much spin and short setup. My racket is even longer at 28' and i love it.
He's also a decent spot server
Fognini very smooth also
Yes, another very good comparison!
@@TK-Tennis I always wanted to emulate Fognini's "effortless" style. Clean hitter, doesn't waste a ton of energy. Efficient.
@@K4R3N me too, hit great with less effort ;-)
Who is Karue Sell?
Well known Tennis CZcamsr working his way up the pro ATP tour rankings at the age of 30. czcams.com/channels/hv2KPUqL3Pq6R6rA6smWbw.html
@@TK-Tennis at the age of 30, good luck to him
@@RamsBereit I doubt he has any illusions or unreasonable expectations. He's just seeing far he can go, that's alone is more than most are willing to attempt.
I think his mental state is also an advantage. He can see the current state of the game as it is, and make adjustments accordingly. It is like he views the match from a third person perspective, hence detached from the emotions of playing the game.
Mariano is french, not italian
Yes, I knew this and the origin of his surname tricked my mind when recording it and missed it during the edit.
You also got his name wrong, it's "Mannarino"...
@@ivanromero4936 Yep, total screw up during editing. I even looked it up on the ATP Tour website and somehow still made the error 🤦♂
Hand eye coordination is spot on! So well analysed..
Appreciate the comment 👍
Snapback is an own category for itself? Is snapback something to achieve for the player or just something to generate spin?
Snapback and spin often go together since more aggressive snapback should impart more spin, but it's just one factor for spin potential. The strings texture is another factor. I made it its own category since many players like to know how well a string returns to it's default position. When strings do not return to their default state, it can and often does make the string less controlled and predictable.
@@TK-Tennis So a string with good snapback scores in the snapback category and then again accumulates points for Spin and control. So double or even triple score for one single attribute. Am I right?
@@sebastiandomagala9233 No, my scale lists the characteristics and attributes of a blend combination. The final letter grade is not an accumulation of scores and it's why i don't use a number system. The final letter grade is simply a subjective final output on how I rate the setup. It's wholly qualitative and not at all designed to be quantitative.
Cool!! I love karue
Very helpful, thank you
hysterical, loved it
I need to buy a heavier racket. I am male and 47 years old and 185 lbs. I just started playing tennis 2 years ago and have a pretty strong quick swing. I currently have a wilson blade 105 . At 9 ounces (very light) I am hitting inconsistanly and very frustrating. Then a friend actually let me try a 12.5 ounce Wilson high beam ceramic racket and I am in LOVE with it. Hitting shots inside the court perfectly and with TOPSPIN, amazing. I never heard of a ceramic racket but it felt great and produced. My guess is that because i have a fast swing, the heavier racket is slowing down my swing and giving extra forgiveness due to added weight.
Those are opposite ends of the spectrum! I'd like to know how you fare with a 350gram racquet long term.
His return of serve seems to make the biggest difference. Have to be able to chisel out breakpoints against some very dominating serves!
His weakness: not a 🦒 Adrian Mannarino is French.
Good call-out. Sloppy on my part. I knew this and the origin of his surname tricked my mind.
It's a good Sell.
What about super toro and wasabi-X????
👍Super Toro/Wasabi X and Super Toro/Snapper are up next. I mentioned that at the end of the video
@@TK-Tennis When?
@@TK-Tennislooking forward to that. Can you give us a spoiler if there is a A+ hybrid coming? Thanks
@@llamawizard ETA this upcoming weekend, need more time to compare
@@rafaeldea I only have one session with the Snapper and no time yet with Wasabi X, so I'm not comfortable with any spoiler insights. I expect to know where they will grade by this upcoming weekend. I also want to compare them to a full set of my baseline strings, such as Grapple Tour M8 and Kirschbaum Super Smash
The neon pink Enzo Pro is livelier I believe (1.24mm) rather than the grey 1.25mm version. What tension are you stringing at?
I suspect you are right. I prefer higher tension, usually at 58ish...but moving outdoors this was 55lbs.
If shes a Karen what was serena lol
Very well explained brother!
Thank you friend
Just get msv hex and hex soft in black n white colors.... same factory in Taiwan but half the price... the colors effect slickness ...get msv bussard also to test as cross and full bed
I've had quite a few people suggest MSV. It's something I plan on doing. It's my understanding that the majority of strings are made in just a few factories around the world, however the formulas are unique to each brand...with the exception is that some brands are simply rebranding strings used by many companies.
All rackets made in China, sure, they are all the same so……
Thanks TK. I like the rating system and look forward to more. Would/could you consider having one graphic up towards the end of these reviews to see how these 2 (B+, A-) stack up with all your other string review so far? It'll eventually turn into a mini tier-list!
👍I've been thinking about creating a library of the results somewhere publicly accessible. A spreadsheet would be the most basic but boring option, but I'm still thinking what the best long term solution would be.
Waiting for an A or A+! I bet Super Toro with WasX or Snapper will get there.
Oh wonderful idea, like a shared google Doc! ❤ @@TK-Tennis
Why you feel the need to produce a video such as this is beyond me, pathetic, must be better ways of spending time
where's the mocking
Just tried M8 in my whiteout 18x20. It’s great! Had Wasabi and I like M8 better. I unfortunately was trying a different Multi in the cross that didn’t work out as well as I hoped. Back to Velocity MLT, Gosen AK CX Pro or Prince Lighting Pro. Any other suggestions? I found the multi I was using for Toalsen moves to o much. Strung at 47/49
Good deal. What was the biggest difference for you between the Grapple Tour M8 and Wasabi? For Multi's, Velocity MLT is hard to beat IMO. I have blend review using two racquets coming out tomorrow, it will be Super Toro in the Mains and then Caviar and Enso Pro in the crosses. Surprisingly the best blend combination I've tried so far is Torline Super Toro or Wasabi in the mains and Kirschbaum Supersmash in the crosses. It has the best combination of responsiveness and plushness, but again my sample size is still quite small to date
@@TK-Tennis I wish I could do full poly but I have tennis elbow from doing that and some late backhand slices. For my 18x20, the square Wasabi closes off the string bed more than the M8. I’m finding a better launch angle and actually more spin oddly enough.
@@TK-Tennis I would like to try Toro Toro. Is it stiffer than M8? I love TW university for this info but unfortunately Toroline and Grapplesnake are not on there yet so it’s hard to know.
I also like the thud response from M8
@@ryansolomon4178 Haven't tried Toro Toro yet, so can't say. From everything I've seen from other reviewers Toro Toro has a crisp firm feel very much in-line with the Toroline brand. Grapplesnake Tour M8 seems to be a very are friendly poly. It certainly in my Top 5 Poly's and #1 in terms in plushness.
I think toroline + Caviar will be better

TK as you have seen below, I customised a head speed mpl , I am thinking for my all-round game not sure it suits it! So I wanted to ask you, how doe the customised gravity MPL play? Have you tried the speed MPL with the same customisation? and if so how do they compare? I am thinking the Gravity will be slightly more controlled due to 16x20 and thinner beam. I play a flatter old school type game. So i am thinking Gravity might be better for my game after customising it the same as the speed.
I played with the new Speed MPL a couple of months ago and I thought it played very well even in its default light form. The new Speed plays very similar to the Gravity, more than the prior version. The extra cross string makes no difference in my opinion, both the Speed and Gravity with 16 mains have the same control profiles. I do ever so slightly prefer the sweet spot and the thinner beam on the Gravity, but the thicker beam and stiffness on the Speed gives it a little more pop. The difference is really negligible, but you might be right in your thinking that the Gravity would suit your game a little better. With that said, I would suggest trying the Prestige MP-L as potentially a better option. It plays really nice as well and seems to be even a better potential option for a less spin traditional style of player.
UPDATE: I mistakenly said the yellow crosses were Wasabi X when in fact it's Toroline Caviar.
Wasabi X or Wasabi?! I didn’t know WasX is available in neon color now. I think you’ll like Toro with Wasabi (X) more, Enso Pro is a bit too muted and not the best in terms of durability.
💯agree about Enso Pro. I went through a set of Super and Enso and the Enso broke earlier than expected and there is nothing exciting about it, it’s kind of flat
I totally flubbed in the video. It is Caviar
@@TK-Tennis Caviar is pretty good too!
What overgrip is that with the perforations and ridges?
Wilson Pro Perforated. They are slightly thinner than most overgrips, feel great but don’t last long
@@TK-Tennis I am currently using Solinco Heaven over grips and quite like them so far.
@@ryansolomon4178 nice! I have not tried those yet, may do so 👍
Toro obsession
Just the latest phase ;-). Players seem interested in Toroline atm
Qu'on l'expulse du tournoi cette pétasse !
How long before it snapped? I’ve had Zero / Enzo in for a month and the enzo is close to snapping now. Been great value and excellent playability
6-7 hours of play, which was about an hour longer than when i had Sync in the crosses, but an hour less than what I typically see with most of my Poly Blends.
Fantastic Advice

Hey TK, thanks for these tests! Qq: do you believe this blend would be better with super toro or toro toro in the mains?
Can't say, havent tried Toro Toro yet. In advance of any video, I will say Super Toro and Wasabi X is likely the best blend I've tried. Using it now
@@TK-Tennis thanks! Looking forward to listen more and durability. I was about to buy enso pro with toro and super toro to test, but now I will give wasabi x a try for crosses
@@rafaeldea 👎a little disappointed with Enso, expected a little more.

Thank you for so much for this video :)
those new insulated bottles are heavy / sturdy af. if you've ever heard one drop on the floor right in front of you then you know it sounds like a bowling ball dropped to the floor
These courts are wow.
Totally agree with having a heavy racket for the one hand backhand. I have been playing with lead for nearly 15 years with my EZone 100+ at 400g. The stability is key. Lead at 3 and 9 is key for offcenter stability. Lead in the throat is key over overall racket stability and lead in the handle is key to keeping the balance the same. Volleys are better too as it forces you to use proper technique and eliminates swinging through your volleys. Lead also allows for hitting with a heavier ball your hitting partners will immediately notice.
Nice legs and a Karen. I played on red clay and light rain as a player alot as a kid
5:30 You can easily make it 0.25" longer by putting a foam spacre from a donor racquet eg. Wilson. That fits perfectly and easy to do as the foam handle can be easily cut with an exacto knife or similar. You also forget that Head used to have the Adaptive range with adjustable lengths. They were a sales disaster....
Nobody plays with extended length racquets these days. They died out over 20-30 years ago with Michael Chang and co....
It is not uncommon for players to use extended racquets. Here's a list and it is just as common for doubles players. Andreas Seppi Andy Roddick Benoit Paire Bernard Tomic Caroline Wozniacki Daniel Hantuchova David Ferrer David Nalbandian Diego Schwartzman Dudi Sela Elina Svitolina Eugenie Bouchard Fabrice Santoro Jelena Ostapenko Jo-Wilfred Tsonga John Isner Juan C. @@victormercado1912 Completely pointless list since they're less than 1% of the entire player base. Most of those were also from a different era. It's therefore VERY uncommon for players to use extended length racquets. At the rec player players, its even less.
You did suggest “Nobody” plays with extended length racquets. There are top pros using custom length racquets and on the recreational side there are still many options. Undoubtably some people are buying them
@@TK-Tennis You're not a top pro and never will be. Nor is anyone who watches this channel. Trying to copy what a pro uses is about the dumbest thing you can possibly do. Like I said, nobody (in the real world|) uses with them.
@@googlereviewer1944it’s ok just to say you made a mistake instead of making personal attacks. I simply pointed out both top pros and recreational players do use extended racquets and you decided to deflect and ignore that your original statement was inaccurate. It’s not a big deal
