I read somewhere that in some form of ways Starlight is supposed to be like a reflection of Twilight sparkle. Like example if you got back to season one the opening episode. If she never gave friendship a chance and only wanted to focus in on her magic only and her studies. I know they created Moon Dancer but that was just a copycat. But from what had heard if Twilight had never accepted Friendship she could be like Starlight. But Starlight is supposed to be like the twilight who didn't make friends, and her powers grew and whatnot. I don't know if Twilight would become evil but like I said the two like mirror each other or so I have heard.

Discord just likes to troll people and get under their skin but he's not wrong, Twilight should have a plan for Starlight's future like Celestia planned one for Twilight it's only fitting, so he's not wrong. But he does like Fluttershy the most, he is just trying to be friends with the girls, but he would never choose anyone over Fluttershy not in a million years. but there not a couple there just friend's right now. But his feelings for her do run deeper.

As I told you before. Twilight almost could not defeat Starlight she had to convince her on her own to stop. And that changed the path for Starlight to become good instead of evil. I think honestly that Starlight has a hidden talent for magic and is stronger than Twilight Sparkle but that's my thoughts.

The reason that there are corrupted gems in the first place is because of the Diamond Blast, which happened in an attempt to end the rebellion. During this, Rose used her shield to protect Garnet and Pearl from it. The reason Bismuth Isn't corrupted because she was inside of lions mane when it happened. And the reason Amethyst Isn't corrupted is she hasn't formed yet. So the only survivors of the diamond blast were the Gems and Diamonds on Homeworld who weren't fighting on Earth, Rose, Pearl, Garnet, Bismuth, and Amethyst. All other gems on the planets surface got corrupted.
