COLD WAR: A Novel of the Berlin Airlift
Stopping Russian aggression with milk, coal and candy bars…. The dramatic story of the Berlin Airlift!
Berlin is under siege. More than two million civilians must be supplied by air -- or starve.
USAF Captain J.B. Baronowsky and RAF Flight Lieutenant Kit Moran once risked their lives to drop high explosives on Berlin. They are about to deliver milk, flour and children’s shoes instead. Meanwhile, two women pilots are flying an air ambulance that carries malnourished and abandoned children to freedom in the West. Until General Winter deploys on the side of Russia….
Based on historical events, award-winning novelist Helena P. Schrader delivers an insightful, exciting and moving tale about how former enemies became friends in the face of Russian aggression - and how close the Berlin Airlift came to failing under the assault of “General Winter.”
"Cold War" continues the story of the Berlin Airlift where "Cold Peace" left off....

    At 0:35, Ju87 Stukas were over Stalingrad, Sov. Russia---not over London.

      @HelenaPSchrader Před 3 lety

      Yes. So what? A video teaser attempts to evoke the atmosphere of a book. Stukas were used in the Battle of France, over the Channel and in the Battle of Britain. Access to photos of exact locations and times is costly and time intensive. The image is evocative of those air battles regardless of where it was shot.

      @@HelenaPSchrader Yes. I realized what many people are now saying: that your book is more about entertainment than it is history...or even historical accuracy. So, thanks for confirming that yourself.

      Frankly, "a lot of people" don't interest me in the least since veterans of the Battle of Britain say it was "the best book" they have ever read and got it "smack on the way it was". Petty criticism of a teaser says nothing compared to that kind of endorsement. Enjoy your pettiness.

      @@franz.isler799 She's hanging on to any tiny shred of pandering comments about her book...most singularly from Bob Doe (who passed away in 2010, so note when this book was published...ostensibly under a different title). She even deleted my comments. This is an author who's very defensive (and sensitive, to say the least) to any criticism since this book isn't selling so well.

      @@rittmeister3659 Apparently we're a bunch of party spoilers, tarnishing her teaser parade, though ii seems in reality not a "teaser"but a pounding, reverberating drum beat. One thing is clear: Yes, I saw your earlier comments now it's gone. It won't get deleted if you were pandering. Wait--that's a no brainer..She couldn't bear the slightest criticism and gets out-rightly defensive, which to her is simply pettiness.

    There are a lot of reasons to like this book. It is fantastic. The story line is exciting, and compelling. Details of the aviation action is as accurate as I can imagine. The stories of the people and aircraft that support the airplanes is fascinatingly detailed. Schrader deserves applaud for that. The other parts of this book are of the people on the ground and, yes, a romantic tale is in it. But, that doesn't crowd out the pilots, maintainers and crews in the air war on both sides.
