The Battle Creek Garden Tour committee appreciates your videos and support!
I am amazed at the talent and love people place in their gardens. Thank you for sharing so many amazing gardens!!
The gardens this year were amazing, but I always say that. I love the garden tour. It's so inspirational!
Hi Jess...Just a comment or suggestion about the tote and the slow-stitched heart. How about not putting the heart in the center of the bag? I think it gives a cute touch as a small decoration, say in the lower left corner of the bag. (I guess I just think accents don't always have to be "centered"). Or...how about applying a background piece of fabric behind the heart? A gingham square matching the gingham in the heart would be cute. (P.S. Is there no a/c in your craft room? :( ) P.P.S. Do you still have the pin with the little blue cat? I need to buy that from you.
Excellent ideas! I do have some great gingham fabric I can use as the backing. I love gingham! No a/c in my craft room unfortunately. Worse, it's also my exercise room with my spin bike! The pin is already winging its way to you via USPS.
What cute fabrics! I love the bunting. We always pick apart our own work I think. I think it adds to the charm of handmade items. Perfectly imperfect!
Thank you! Yes, I think you're right. I expect commercial stuff to be perfect, but often it isn't at all. It's less charming than when I imagine someone sitting down and making it from love.
The projects you have made are really cute! I started slow stitching a few months ago and I really love it. I have been making pouches and purses. It is really so much fun to see what you can make with your pretty fabrics and trims. Good luck at your craft fair.
Thank you so much! Are you on instagram? I'd love to see your pouches and purses!
@@catobear9 No, I have not used instagram. Sorry.
Hello Jess! If he's still available, I'd love to buy the little blue cat in the yellow cup, please! I mean...he's "BLUEY"! ;) I think your projects looks wonderful and I hope they sell well at the event.
It's yours! I'll save it for you and get it out soon.
@@catobear9 I haven't signed in to CZcams for awhile, so I just now saw this. :)
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!!!!! I could see your slow stitched pieces pinned on purses, backpacks, and clothing. Best of luck with the sales-I say wear a few-they are eye-catching and adorable.
Thank you! They are addicting to make. I am trying to make something for everyone with them. I just completed a couple of religious ones in case my mom's church friends are interested, and I think I've got a UFO one up next!
How much would you pay for one of the pins at a craft fair booth?
Just saw this question. It's hard to judge something like this...because it is such a personal thing when it's your handiwork. If I had to say, and I hope this is reasonable, I'd easily pay $8 to $10 for one of your pins.
You are such a talented content creator. Can't wait to see what will burst through the raised containers 😀
Thanks! I'm honestly using my video editing on my own to improve for the shelter. I've got a ton of education videos to create this summer and there's a bit of a learning curve on the software. I do like to look at the garden videos in the cold of winter though. Reminds me that summer will eventually return.
Beautiful!!!❤
Thank you! It's starting to move fast now. We're having temperatures in the 80s this week and I'm having to water every other day!
Jessica-I can’t believe you remembered… 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Of course! I loved spending time with you when we were kids. It was an important part of my life!
This looks like such a fun project!!!!❤ I'm so glad you shared about it!
Seeing everything was a treat! I also haven't see many of SGZ's zines so that made things even cooler!
Oh how I wish you saved the yellow gingham curtains from childhood-so cool!
I think you had those strawberry shortcake plushies on the walls of your bedroom? Oh, and we could use our brownie uniforms! So many fun fabric memories.
everything you showed was amazing!!
Zines are so much fun! I love to share.
I actually haven't watched star trek, but im planning to because my partners parents love it :>
If you've never watched, I always recommend The Next Generation's episode The Inner Light. I watched it again last night and again I ugly cried.
Thank you so very much for your kind words!
Hi Jessica! I really like your letter tracking spreads. .. I'm going to try this!
I've read that there are "permanent" versions of Parker Quink inks called "Super Quink", however I haven't seen any modern Parker ink box/bottle with such a name ("Super Quink") written on it so far, but just "Quink". How to differentiate the "Super Quink" (permanent ink) bottles from the standard "Quink" (non-permanent ink) ones? Or is it the same ink that some people call it "Super Quink" when in fact it is just "Quink"? Maybe they refer it to as "Super Quink" when there's no legend "washable" written on the box/bottle (black, blue-black) and as "Quink" when there's the legend "washable" written on the box/bottle (blue)? It's just so confusing!
❤ the zines
Thank you so much! If you'd like a Star Trek zine via snail mail, just email me your address to jessicaleegilbert(at)gmail.com!
I had no idea that there is such a diversity of topics covered by zine artists. Fantastic review!
Thank you!
Thank you for watching! I hope you have zine creation in your plans for 2024. Become a zinester! If you enjoyed this video, please like and subscribe. If you've made a zine so far this year, please comment about your project!
Fantastic review! Your knowledge about this rather old art form and your creativity with your zines is informative and fun to watch. It make me want to create my own zine.
This is GORGEOUS!!! What a beautiful thing to do for your mom!! ❤
Thank you so much! It was fun to think of what would be helpful for her throughout the year. I think mine will not be quite as pretty when it's done, but fingers crossed!
Hello! It looks like you are in the middle of nowhere...but it sounds like there is a freeway right next to you? I loved the sound of crunching leaves. What a nice walk.
Our shelter and the Bark Park are right on the highway. I kind of tune out the roar until I hear it on video. The shelter sits on 20 acres. Today is 63 degrees!
My best friend, Enjoyed watching this video my friend Really awesome views Thank you Stay connected
Beautiful gardens! Thanks for sharing!
Your garden is beautiful, Jess! I am in awe. I so admire you for putting this altogether in such a lovely way!
Thank you! It's really looking good this year. Not getting much in the way of vegetables, but the plants are huge!
Goodness gracious me Wow now that's Exquisitely Gorgeous 🥰❤️
Magical!
Hi Jessica! Your garden looks so pretty!!! I'm just writing you a letter reply and telling you about our drought ... I thought I'd pop on and see the latest post card video and found you'd made these videos which I didn't realize!!! :) We're hoping for rain today here ... just my sunflowers, peppers and squash are hanging on along with the drought resistant trees. :)
Lovely!
Isn't she doing a remarkable job on it?
Do you have a Tutorial? It Looks amazing!!✨
Not yet! But I will be releasing tutorials with the next few projects, so keep watching!
This is such a fun idea! In the past, I did a few artist trading cards after I took an online workshop. It was fun but I never thought about incorporating more of my fountain pen inks and stamps and stuff from pen paling... I believe I'll give this a try!! Also, I'm so delayed in replying to your letter ... Yikes it's like I've been in a fog. ❤❄Sitting down right now to write you a letter!!!✒✉
Chris, thank you so much for watching! I can't wait to see what you put together. The inks are fun to use, but you won't want to mod-podge over the top of them as it makes most of the ink run. A sealing spray would work. I feel like I'm sleepwalking through a lot these days, especially work. Maybe warmer weather will help?
Hi Jessica! I really love your idea of doing a pen pal letter spread ... I just put one in my bullet journal for Jan-June! It will help me a lot kerp track of things better!!!!
Oh my gosh, I could never keep track, especially during InCoWriMo, if I didn't write it all down. It also helps me realize if some people have dropped off my writing list so I can check up on them.
The historical romance series I've been reading mentions cards like this! What fun!!! I also remember in the Laura Ingalls Wilder books how they had little cards ... with their name!
I'm tempted to make some myself, but I never hand out business cards. I think next up is Artist Trading Cards for me, though. Stay tuned!
I love the one with the horse!!! What a fun hobby!!! ☺
I'm always so surprised what is put on old cards, or what people write on the back.
My best guess is Daicfostle? lol
After I looked at it on video, I think it's Danforth. My old eyes aren't what they used to be!
I love the removable skunk-fonts of all 3 were great
They don't use great fonts like they used to! I was watching My Fair Lady on the spin bike last night, and the opening title sequence fonts are glorious!
Love the blue entry doors. $6 a night..... sign me up :-D
Yes, can you imagine? I think the sketchy hotel rooms in Battle Creek are up to $39 a night or more now.
These cards are very pretty! Mom Mom put together memory albums for 1961 thru like sometime in the early 2000s and in the older ones she kept and all the old Valentine's, Christmas cards, birthday cards etc for the whole year, plus pictures and written captions -- what a treasure. All of them are at my brother's in big tubs now as she is in assisted living. I was thinking the other day how many vintage greeting cards and ephemera are in those. She has given them to us ... I only wonder when I'll be able to sort thru them. :) The third card you showed, folded there are many like that. I know the birth announcements are all in those albums too - back then before facebook and Instagram people sent out the birth announcements!
My Mom has a christmas card holder that is made of old christmas cards. I'll have to get a picture of it. I save all of my cards, banded by year, and all of my penpal letters. Maybe someday your Mom's cards will be part of a national collection!
Oh I just adore the red barn and other buildings!!! If like to do this with homes I've lived in and my grandma's place & Dad's place. How inspiring!!!
Thank you! I find that painting, in any form, really gets rid of my internal chatter. I like who I am when I paint.
Oh this is so neat! I have a pen pal in Alabama who uses vintage stamps too and it's always such fun to get letters with the old stamps. Many, I remember from childhood! Thank you for sharing about this neat Etsy shop!!!
I was sitting here in my living room reading your letter tonite when I read about your post card videos and here I am I found your channel!!!! I love this!!!! What fun!!! I'm so glad you're doing this!🌹
Thank you! Honestly, you're my inspiration.
What a beautiful photo on the front.. I would love to go there

Jessica - Thank you! What a wonderful review of my Etsy shop. What a treat. I can tell you are as equally obsessed with vintage stamps as I am!!
You're one of my favorite sellers, and I want everyone to know about you!
