Imagine if Legacy of Kain had an animated series that rivaled Gargoyles.
It probably would have turned out more like the Mortal Kombat show.
@@julien-lemay True, but due to the voice acting, character design, dialogue and writing of the Legacy of Kain series, they're all very similar to that of Gargoyles. Hell, some of the Legacy of Kain Voice Actors like Tony Jay were in Gargoyles.
@@samflood5631 I never knew Tony Jay was in Gargoyles, but it certainly fits in with his contemporary work.
this is CRAZYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks! That's very kind.
I could watch it over and over again
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Your work is impeccable, when I earn my own money, I would pay to watch a complete series haha Even if it's just the first blood omen xD
@@davidguzman5728 At this point, I just hope someone does something with it. Not a mobile game though.
@@julien-lemay Yes, maybe the community can do something, gather signatures, move people, I don't know haha
Damn, I loved it!
nice work
Thanks
Man your animation is so damn good.... your work is amazing. If I may ask for permission to attempt to do the other steps like the clean lines and coloring to practice? Or you want to work on that yourself?
Thank you very much! That's fine, and I wouldn't mind seeing it if you end up posting something.
@@julien-lemayThanks! You'll be the first person I contact to show ya!
This is impressive.
Thanks
@@julien-lemay You should make anime series Blood Omen. Many episodes, would be awesome to watch.
@@markowolf9892 Unfortunately, life has been slowing down my animation projects in various ways. I'm not sure I'll be able to set aside the necessary time for something like this again, but I would like to revisit LoK at some point.
@@julien-lemay I agree.
Where can I find more?!
Things are a little tough at the moment, but I am hoping to revisit the game and series in the future.
This is amazing never stop😂😂😂
Thank you, I always value the encouragement.
I love this so much
Thanks
Amaizing work, love to see LoK content even after all these years
Thanks!
Adorably! Great job. LOK series deserves revival. I hope Crystal Dynamics do it in next years.
Thanks! Crystal Dynamics are interested in revisiting the series, but we'll have to see what happens with the parent company...
This looks fantastic! Even the facial expressions are amazing!
Thank you! They were challenging, but rewarding.
The fact that this exists at all so long after the original games just proves truth to Kain's words. "As long as a single one of us stands, we are legion."
The series was remarkably short-lived for the number of titles it generated, but it certainly made its mark.
An excellent piece
Thank you
They’re not the property of Square Enix anymore, Embracer Group now owns Legacy of Kain.
Yes, and it looks like the franchise just may change hands again before too long.
Wow this is amazing
Thanks!
OMG WE NEED MORE OF THIS AAAA
Thanks! Maybe someday.
Yo this is actually impressive good shit man, I don't even know how this got into my reccemended but I'm thankful. Blood omen 2 and Soul Reaver 2 introduced me to the series.
Thanks, this has been my most popular video by a huge margin. I was a little surprised at how many people enjoyed Blood Omen 2 as much as me, since it always seemed to be one of the less well regarded entries.
Bro holy shit i wish this was a whole movie i want more 😭 it looks so fucking good
Thanks, it seemed like a project worth trying.
"But you'll never know how it ends Faustus , For I'll bury you first of all" 🥶
One of my favourite lines.
The Animation is Phenomenal 🥶🥶🏔️🏔️♾️
Thanks!
Es to es epico. Arte 👌
:) 👍
This is the best thing I've even seen. Edit: I'd even pay to watch a full animated and colored version of Boss fights from BO2. Edit 2: am I the only one who thinks that beside the perfect animation, the dialogue voice lines are also a masterpiece and they fit so well with that style?
Thanks for the kind words. The voice lines were one of the main reasons I undertook this project. A good number of people have floated the idea of an LoK animated show; my usual response is we should hope for a new game first.
That looks soooo cool!
Thanks!
My God, my soul yearns more of this masterpiece. I must thank you for this, great job!!!
Much appreciated! Glad you liked it.
Très très belle animation ne lache rien 👍👍👍
Un grand merci !
Very cool
Thanks
Unfortunate it was rejected, it is a very lovely animation!!
Thank you!
Awesome.
Thanks
Impressionnant.
Great animation. But since this appears to be DBZ era Frieza I'm gonna go ahead and say OUT OF CHARACTER! I doubt he would dirty his hands or move that much dealing with these obvious grunts xD Unless this is what he does on vacation 🤔
Thank you. If memory serves, I started making this shortly after seeing Resurrection F, and wondering what Frieza's off-screen training would have looked like.
I know this is a minor moment in the series as a whole, but goddamn.
LoK's writing is excellent in general, and BO2's dialogue effortlessly keeps to the series' standards.
How is it that I'm only getting this put in my recommendations now? Awesome job, good sir.
Thank you very much!

This was beyond epic
Thank you kindly!
Brilliant, this is a masterpiece
A bit overly generous, but I'm glad you enjoyed it!
wow
Thanks
Amazing work, how long did it take you to learn to drawn then animate?
I guess it's technically been close to 30 years so far. I still wouldn't say I exactly "know" how to draw or animate. But modern tools and materials make it more accessible than ever!
@@julien-lemay Oh man. I really want to get into art and maybe animation, but mostly graphic design along with programming so I can design games but because I haven't done anything so far, I'm in my mid 20s right now, I fear that it might be too late for me to get started again ever since I sort of had a passing interest in art that I loosely know how to draw but have not honed any new skills as of late. I'm in a bit of a rut.
@@doclouis4236 I suspected the "30 years" answer might be hard to interpret; I really just meant that I've been drawing all my conscious life, but I'll never know everything. That's why I followed that response with a commendation of current-day methods, many of which are very new. It's only been about 10 years since I really started reading books, watching tutorials (like Proko's) and drawing regularly. Before that I was doing my own amateur game development alongside various other projects. I still do, but my main focus is definitively animation. For now. Mid-twenties? Don't worry about it, you can do whatever you want. All you need are the right toolset and references.
@@julien-lemay Thanks, I suppose. I'm just going through a sort of mid Doomer phase at the moment (you know the wojak meme I'm talking about), concerns with health and a future career at the moment. I even held off going to community college due to me wanting to take a break after graduation and get a part-time job. I sort of took a longer break than I expected and I do know what career path I want to take, I'm just nervous if I'll be productive and successful. But if you could recommend me any material for an aspiring professional artist/animator, that would be greatly appreciated.
@@doclouis4236 I haven't animated anything professionally yet; my hope is that this channel will attract employers, and ideally create an online following. So I've learned to keep hope alive. Now, for references: For human anatomy, Proko and Aaron Blaise both have brilliant CZcams channels as well as websites. Proko's site has great photo reference packs for sale, and Aaron's has paid video courses for animating/painting humans and all sorts of animals. The courses can be expensive, but they often go on deep sale so I'd subscribe to the newsletter. (Also, make sure to learn general proportions before anything else. Otherwise nothing will ever look right.) For environments... You can find any number of video tutorials on 1-/2-/3-point perspective, but past that, architecture/city planning is extremely variable and so are natural landscapes; as much as I dislike the usual, flippant advice to "find your own references", that may be necessary, depending on the sort of setting you want to render. If it's a realistic, modern place, I'd make a habit of taking pictures of buildings and streets whenever possible. Progress can be infuriatingly slow sometimes, but practicing with a clear goal does help a lot.
Let me make this crystal clear. If you do not produce more of this AMAZING stuff, I will bat form my way to you, tape a stylus to your hand and MAKE YOU MAKE MORE. I'm, of course, joking, but this animation is so goddamn good, there just needs to be more. You have far too much talent to not use it on a franchise that desperately needs revival. Your work is impeccable and I am so grateful for people like you that keep Kain alive.
Much appreciated, but I suspect that Crystal Dynamics' head office is where you really want to bat-form over to. I chose this subject matter partly because of how obscure the series has become, but thankfully, Crystal have shown much more interest in Legacy of Kain recently. I'm tempted to try my hand at a few other cutscenes, but given the amount of time this took, I'd rather diversify my content for now to avoid any pigeonholing.
@@julien-lemay I saw the recent interest, and I'm very excited for where it takes us! I can really only image just how long this stunning piece took; it takes me long enough just to finish a drawing. But I'm going to throw you a sub and keep an eye on your work regardless. You're extremely skilled at your craft and I think I can learn quite a bit from you. And who knows? Maybe you and I both can bat form over to Crystal HQ and make a point. 😄
@@lazydave9761 Thank you. This took over two years, but I learned a lot on the way.
