The focal point of the debate should be on evaluating the harm done to public health via the shutdown (isolation, child development, economic poverty, job loss, small business shutdowns, etc). These are the determinant factors on whether we overreacted. This is not a mere discussion of whether the disease is harmful, but rather of weighing the harm from our response versus the harm of the disease itself.
