Armor All Leave On Hack To Restore Old Goldwing Plastic and Rubber
A way I've been using Armor All to restore dingy, weathered plastic and rubber parts on my old Goldwings, cars, and trucks, and other things that might need protecting on their plastics and rubber. You can use any other kind of protectant, but I've not found any that work as well for the way I do it. Just wipe it on and LEAVE it on. Don't wipe off the excess.

My 1987 Honda Goldwing GL1200 Interstate started making a strange buzz sound after my first ride this year on March 29th. It happens about every 3 to 4 minutes. In the video I cut out some of the excess and have about five portions of where the bike is making the buzzing sound. The buzz in the video happens every 6 seconds or so.

Led lights use much less voltage and will Overload voltage regulator. Which results in battery charging issues. Gold wing forums suggest a Moffett regulator to compensate for excess voltage not being used .my advice don't do it,fried 2 regulators, stranded more times I can remember due to previous owner installing Led headlight. Do some research and there are goldwing forums with members that are technicians that can explain it better.
I Have an alternator conversion kit on mine now. So no regulator to worry about. And LEDs have improved a lot the last five years. For me it is much better nighttime visibility than any other headlight. I am a member of several Goldwing forums. goldwingdocs.com is my favorite. Every old Wing that I find to rebuild will have an alternator on it when I'm done with it. There is just too many devices that can overtax the RR and stator now. Like USB ports, heated gloves and jackets, GPS, cameras, LEDs. I'm certainly done with stators. Too many headaches. But that's what they had back then. Conversion kits are the only way to go for me. Thanks for commenting.
I always come back to this video for cucumbers in vinegar.
Stuff is amazing and worth every penny.
Earth is flat
Quit watching midway because of the crudeness. That was disgusting.
No cutting needed. Run wires back tru holes. Made extra work for yourself .
What's going on with this cutting? This is the second video I'm watching in which it is recommended to cut out a part of this casing. Why are they cutting it if it's not necessary? 🤔
Use hand sanitizer if you don't have hair spray. Just twist the throttle you will not break the cable. Take care.
Thanks for this.
Hey thats exelent!! I have some stuff that cost 20bucks, this will work great. I have even solderd fine threaded stainless steel bolts with a washer at end to thread into the tip. They work well for a time. But this will be great for the costy stuff.. worth the time.
Save good cock- I’m sorry, Caulk
How long does a can usually last you?
I can clean both my GoldWing and my Harley Electra Glide three times top to bottom with one can. You don't need a lot each time. I have tried a lot of products over the years but for the best bang for the buck, you can't beat the Pro Honda cleaner. Check out the results on my channels banner page and my recent review of the Sharkroad slip on pipes for my Harley. A lot of Harley guys use the Honda cleaner.
I make this but add tomatoes. It's good. But not all that sugar. Also good with oil added
Never heard of putting sugar on cucumbers.
Oh yes, very similar to cucumber vinegar salad my mother liked. From the South.
Can I use the hot glue in the connector for my sprinkler system wire? tia
What voltage is your system? It's probably 12V or 24V. I've used it on both 12 volt and 24 volt connections without any problem. Just make sure the wires are securely twisted together and the wire nut is tight before you seal it with hot glue.
I whole heartedly agree and pray along side of you brother! Those last 3 lines - WOW! The Lord Jesus Is my Salvation. I'm a Catholic and haven't seen this before! Thank you for sharing! 👍 xoxo

Hi mate i have 33.1 reading on my 2nd reading,is that high? My primary is 3.2.
According to the manual where i found the tolerances that I used to show the test, the highest that the secondary resistance should be is a maximum of 27.9. BUT, as I said in the video, those specs were from a 1984 manual, and I am not positive that they aren't different for the 87. I will call Honda tomorrow and see if they have the exact specs for an 87, and see if it is any different. What year is the one you are testing?
It would have been great to see how you got that front cover off instead of starting the video with part of the bike already taken apart
You're right, sorry about that. By "front cover" do you mean the aluminum trim above the globe? That allows you access to the four 10mm bolts that gets the globe off? If you have a 84 to 87 Goldwing, you take off the mirrors, the top bolt of the mirrors holds the aluminum trim on. Then you need to just pull up a bit on the middle of the trim because there is a little mount that kinda holds the trim down. But there are only the two upper mirror bolts holding that trim in place. Hope that helps. But don't get the one I put in. They make great ones now that just plug and play.
And there is a little piece of plastic trim at the bottom held in place with two small little screws. Careful taking those out and putting back on. Easy to lose.
@@patrickbrandon549 Yes, we found your video but spent about an hour trying to find the screws behind the trim! Thank you for the reply, hopefully the next person working on their Goldwing sees this!
I think I'm getting a set. I had to remove my throttle lock because of adding heated grips. As an aside, I have a good friend in Marysville Mi.

Made this tonight! Loved how the cucumbers crisped up after the first 1 1/2 hour wait. . I did add the cayenne and it was wonderful! Thank you for sharing!
You're very welcome. I like the cayenne as well, adds a bit of a bite. But some just like it without. Glad you enjoyed it, my mom (Granny Frannie) would have been very happy about that.
I just looked at your channel and am wondering if you have tried all of the things in your "Recipes" playlist?
Some I have tweaked and done my own variation like the cabbage and Kale ones. But the new ones by Chriscooks4u2 I am going to definitely be trying very soon. I just discovered her! So many great reviews! The baked pork loin and the yeast rolls most definitely going to make in the next couple of weeks and the fried chicken! Yeast rolls were on my list to learn to make this year! I can’t get over how different your cucumbers are verses what my family has always done. So good!
@@Slipcoverchic Thanks for the reply. I'll keep checking your channel for updates, they look tasty. I hope you will keep me posted on you recipe trials.
Hey there I just turn my shut off main water valve because the water just kept running for 1 week now I seen this idk what to do probably I gotta go home depot tomorrow but what should I do?
There are a couple reasons a toilet will keep running. I could answer you better if I knew what kind of filler valve you have. But the most common reasons are either the float is stuck or the valve shutoff portion is plugged with something. It doesn't take a very big piece of debris to stop a valve from working properly. If you do replace your valve, try to get the kind that you can flush our after you install it. This video might help you understand better because I'm not the best at explaining things sometimes. czcams.com/video/oD0HETCc-OQ/video.html It shows flushing out the valve at the 1 minute 10 second mark.
One side says 90+ is that bad am I doing something wrong?
She's barely running at idle bud weirdly over 2000 rpm a little spit but it runs pretty well until around 4500 than it starts again
@@runsolomon That is odd for sure. Is your 90+ on a secondary resistance test? It certainly would cause erratic running. Did you test what the stator is putting out when running? It should be putting out between 14.2 and 14.6 volts consistently. But my guess is that you do need a new coil. There are certain automotive coils that can replace these and match the electronic specs, but not the size specs, so would need to have the mounting modified. You could go to a great site for answers called goldwingdocs.com and search for some posts that would help. Or join the site and ask questions yourself. Very helpful site. Let me know if I can help if you have further questions.
Yeah 90+ and she is running so bad they put the coils where they are exposed to water in a rain storm when they are old and the insulation around the terminals dries up it goes right inside
@@patrickbrandon549 I have another gw I got for parts so I have extras I just haven't had time to taer into it
is it like 2 ingredient pickles for burgers?
I was not familiar with 2 ingredient pickles but in doing an internet search for them I would say it differs a bit. In mine, while you layer them and put salt, pepper and sugar on each layer (and occasionally onions), after completing all the layers you wait for about 2 hours for the juice to form, then add the vinegar. And mine is not refrigerated.
oh, thanks alot
Patrick, thanks for clarifying the position of the cramp buster in relation to the hand in Traffic.
I love you brother Pat this is Darrell hope in Port Huron checking you out on the big web so just saying hey loads of love just for today
Thanks for posting, now I know for sure not to do what you did, they now make led lights with built-in drivers ,no fan ,exact same size of bulb as original !! Don`t see many wings in the amethyst grey
You're welcome. Glad it could help. I like the grey color, doesn't show up dirt as much. ;) I have been looking at the newer LED headlights and will probably put a different one in this Winter. This one is not very aim able, and because of the way the lens of the Wing is, the brights don't point right, it shows the top of the trees really good. It is a slight improvement side to side from the Silver Star H4 that I had used for years. If you do get an LED headlight, would you please let me know which one you choose and if you are happy with it? I would appreciate that. There are a lot of choices out there and a bit of help from a person with actual experience using one would be a great help.
@@patrickbrandon549 I suggest you check some of "headlight revolutions" videos on led lights headlightrevolution.com
I assume those are grip puppies? was that the CB3 you used to allow for the additional diameter of the grip puppies?
Yes those are Grip Puppies. But both the CB3 and CB4 will fit on the Grip Puppies. The owner of CramBuster sent me the slightly shorter version for free after he saw this video and noticed that the CB3 hit me right where I was stabbed. I am going to review the CB4 soon. Works great. But I think that the CB1 and CB2 would also fit around the Grip Puppies, but just be a bit more snug.
For the numbers use white nail polish. Paint it on carefully and wipe off the top. Use nail polish remover if you mess up or have to try again. Clean out the chalk first.
Thanks Meg. I will do that Sunday and let you know how I did. I Just have to buy some white nail polish first, and it could be a couple days before I remember to buy it.
Don't forget the nail polish remover (basically acetone if you have that). Thanks for the video. I have some rusted sewing machine parts soaking this evening in vinegar. Seems to be working well.
Good luck with your parts. It might take a day, or even two depending on the amount of rust, but it should work well. I think it depends on what kind of metal it is to a large degree as well. I do have nail polish remover for some project I did in the past. Thanks for the reminder.
Hope you don't mind that I shared your video on my Facebook page. This worked SO well. I have before and after photos of the plate (and the thumb screw) that are totally restored from thick black rust. I did a similar plate the day before and it took me all day to wire brush and polish. Thank you!

Hi Patrick, I want to commend you on the great video for CrampBuster. Could you please contact me on our CrampBuster website number toll free 800-735-5240 ? Just ask for Daryl. Thanks
I understand after talking to other people that have used these that when used on dirt bikes or dual sport bikes one can experience arm pump that can be very uncomfortable. The act of grabbing tightly on the grips when doing the technical riding on tougher surfaces causes some resulting pump on the hands which leads to forearm ache. But with cruisers there is a lot less stress just riding down the road, so I never had the arm pump discomfort. So if you are considering putting these on anything but a cruiser, please research reviews that people have done on these for YOUR particular bike. Thanks.
Thanks for making this video
You're welcome Charlie Ryan. I know I'm not the best at making them, but I will be doing some more in the near future and they will be better, (I believe). I crashed that '82 Goldwing that was in the video in May of 2017, but got an '87 Goldwing that I will be putting on new fork seals, stainless steel braided brake lines, rebuilding rear brake caliper, putting LED headlight on, and some assorted other stuff to it, so I will have a chance to get better at videoing and editing. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Looks great can't wait to make it thanks man
Patrick, I need to know how to test a Igniter on a 1980 CB750. We have bought a new set of them still won't run. Bought new coils after using your method of testing them yet not running. will run sometimes for a few seconds and quit. Backfires thru the carbs and exhaust. Please help.
Mark Smith I am out of town right now, but will look into it tomorrow and see what I can find. a motor need 3 things to run, air, spark, and fuel. if the coils tested okay, the next thing would be plugs, but at first thought, it sounds like a lack of fuel. just a guess though. I will have more time tomorrow to look into it.
It is legal in certain states
Which ones?
I have an 80 GL1100 and would love to know my specs but cannot find them.
If you aren't a member already, consider joining the site called goldwingdocs dot com. It is one of the best sites for all Goldwings including excellent how tos for any kind of Goldwing. I am sure someone there would know the specs you need.
Thx Patrick. I did get my specs and that's where I found them. An '80 GL11 should be .4 primary and 22k secondary.
Surprising amount of sugar. All the rest makes sense. I'll try a small batch your way to see how they taste. Life is tasting something new! Thank you.
You can surely cut down on the sugar if that is your preference, but I think that the sugar pulls out quit a bit the juices from the cucs. So if one did cut back on the sugar, maybe wait a bit longer for it to work before adding the vinegar. Like wait around 3 hours if you were to cut the sugar in half. Considering how much sugar is in my recipe, the end dish is not that sweet. Enjoy experiencing a new taste of life.
What about storage? How long will this stay edible? Can you leave them out or refrigerate? How did you do at the fair? Thanks for the vid.
You're welcome and good questions motorar. I guess some of that should have been covered in the vid, but I didn't think of it. We always leave it out on the table so as to just grab some whenever. When it gets low, I just slice up another couple of cucs and let em sit in it for a bit and have some for a little longer. About two or three days is usually how long I keep the same batch going. One has to be careful of the onions though. You know how people take dishes to cookouts and summer parties? Well occasionally people get sick from the food sitting in the sun, and most people blame the mayo or Miracle Whip. That isn't what causes the sickness. It's the onions. They can produce botulism very quickly. The mayo/M.W. has too much acid in it to go bad so quick. The vinegar in this dish thwarts off that poison from the onions for a greater period because it is extremely acidic, but I wouldn't go longer than about three days out of the fridge. I have kept it in the fridge after completion for a week before. It just doesn't work the juices as well when in the cold. I don't remember how the fair went. That vid is over two years old, and I barely remember what I had for breakfast. ;) Thanks for the reply, and enjoy.

Tricky lay out. Assuming she made the left from her left lane she is in the right at that very moment in her mind in that you are supposed to end up in the same left lane on the other street In other words when making a left turn from ones left lane you should end up in the other 2 lane road lefts lane and not in the right lane Its hard to tell by the map I think she saw the 2 lanes of traffic on your street and assumed the left lane on their left (where you are) was where she could land. Or perhaps the 2 lanes she wanted to get to were backed up and she scooted into your lane to clear the intersection Very interesting LIC Driver Circa 1968 35 years of it limousine

Thank you for your quick response. I will look for that relay and see if that works. It should. Mine is also an 1100 so it should be the same. Thanks again.
It should. I would like to give you the web address to a GREAT Goldwing website with many how-tos, and a bunch of good people willing to help out with any questions. It is goldwingdocs.com Make yourself an account there and you will be happy. There are even several articles about how to change over to LEDs. Let me know if you do, my username there is patbrandon1 I think.
Did you have to change the flasher relay to accomodate the LED's? If so, do you have the relay number you used?
Yes Brian, you need to have an electronic flasher installed. I used a Tridon EP-34 bought from a chain auto store called Advanced Auto Supply. That is for my Goldwing GL1100 Interstate. I will be back tonight around 8 or 9 pm EDT if you need any other info,
