These are just like the Elmwood Garage in Roanoke! The elevator at Elmwood has since been modernized by ThyssenKrupp in 2015. These are rare to find as most elevators are getting modded/modernized.

When was the cause

The last time I was here, half of these elevators were modernized, and the other half of these elevators were in progress of being modernized

I don't know if you'll see this comment. I worked at Floating Hospital in 1970s and I could swear that the elevator from the main Tufts hospital to floating at one point went sideways instead of up and down. Is this possible?

I think these were originally Dover Traditionals. Installed 1986, modernized 2013 (I'm guessing).

These lifts are actually manufactured by Embarba or something along the lines of that which is a Spanish company. Hi-Tec lifts just slap their branding on it when they install them. If it wasnt blindingly obvious these are of very poor quality and the voice is meant to just say "opening" and "closing"

This is a hydraulic lift. Oakland only ever sold a very small quantity of MRL traction lifts. You can hear the hydraulic motor when going up.

As of April 2024, these elevators are key-carded. But not smart keyed though.
