She will keep improving WELL beyond the 3 years. Don't listen to the Drs about the time frame. My son didn't stop at the 3 year mark either. The brain is SO AMAZING. Her brain is busy rewiring & making new connections around the damaged areas. Patience is EVERYTHING. It's definitely the longest marathon ever, not a sprint. Mama is like me. I’ve done countless hours of research to get my brother out of locked in syndrome…. He suffered brainstem stroke back in March 2022. Completely bedridden.. I get rooting for the human spirit and helping people rehabilitate is useful but I feel like after a certain point there isn't any point in letting a person whose higher function is gone live any longer? We tend to have this naive hope that somehow our "souls" aren't as intertwined in to the body as we desperately hope they aren't but reality and science continuously prove us wrong

Heart breaks for Kali...she has a fantastic father and loving family but I was studying for my PhD in neuropsychology before I got injured and couldn't complete the it...I suffered a mTBI and it took time to get back, anyway...I learned that most of the neurological recovery takes place in the first two years...after that, it's more functional recovery...and much slower...I don't know if she received cognitive therapy...I suspect she did...this family strikes me as the kind that would do anything to help...but some brain injuries are just too extensive...some part of her is still in there...you can see it in the way she reacts...I wish her and this family nothing but success and healing but the hardest thing about brain injury is the uncertain prognosis...

I was in a bad car accident. I was thrown out of the windshield (not sure how many feet). My condition was so bad, I had to be air flown. I was in a coma for 2 weeks & had to learn how to walk, talk, be potty trained all over again. I dont remember anything before the car accident. So thankful I was able to recover. I do wonder if some things I deal with today are from my TBI but I will never know. I have no idea who I was before the accident. So sorry about your daughter! I can't even imagine ❤

Thank you for all you do. He still uses the Quadraciser in 2021. It has proven to help with this continued Rehab s/p stroke. My brother is a Military Veteran of the Vietnam Era and a Retired Police Officer. In this video you see my two brothers who are working to get him to stroke recovery.
