Weather was very warm and sunny. Seas were generally calm but I remember one night filming the swimming pool water moving a little bit when I was at The Grill.

There are many advantages of cruising solo, if you don't mind your own company and many reasons people travel solo. When I took my first cruise in 2015, I discovered it would be very easy to do solo. There are so many places to see, experiences to have and adventures awaiting. We never know what's round the corner...

Hello, good question although two different experiences. I may do a video to compare them, although conscious I have only one experience of Silversea, so looking forward to Silver Ray next year where I can see how consistent their offer is. Queens Grill (and Cunard in general) lacks consistency in service, although I have always found the food in Queens Grill has always been excellent. I don't currently have any Queens Grill voyages booked, although if they had some solo Queens Grill cabins, I may be more inclined to book if the price was right.

Hello, thank you for your question and for watching my videos! I would suggest watching some vlogs on whichever cruise line you are going on, as all services provided by Butlers differ by cruise line. Unfortunately, if you don't do your research, you may miss out on some of the possibilities as they don't always tell you everything they can provide. On MSC for example, most useful is being escorted off the ship in each Port and bypassing the queues! Most will bring you canapés each day and serve your breakfast as well as packing and unpacking. They will also ensure you have whatever drinks you prefer in your suite, subject to the offer of the cruise line. They can make booking and reservations, arrange personalised stationary and laundry, run you a bath (making it a bit of a special experience). MSC Butlers escort you to dinner and shows etc. not something I have experienced on other lines but I believe there may be one or two others which do this too. Hi Philip, apologies, I have only just seen your message. Sounds like you picked very well for your first two cruises. I agree regarding the food, service and ship. Which ship experience was your favourite out of the two?

The suite butler was just a bit more experienced on the Cunard cruise than the silversea cruise but we all need to start somewhere . Sending my very best wishes Philip .

Hi Debra, I think it has the best views. I was able to watch a full 180 degree view as we departed every port which you don't see when you are the side of the ship (you only see one side). The wake is quite mesmerising. It's cheaper than a Q4 and the only real difference was there was one less TV and no walk in wardrobe room. I thought there was more wardrobe space in the Q6 too. I hope that explains a little for you? Thank you for taking the time to watch my video!

Apart from paying 100% solo passenger supplement, the cruise itself was fantastic. Well looked after by the staff and to be honest, the tables are very close together, so it was easy to speak to the couple next to me at meal times. I recommend any solo who can afford the price tag and would like to experience it to go for it. Pre-covid, there were plenty of singles and we sat at a large table with other singles and those who wished to share. Due to covid, I’m more keen to dine alone (certainly early part of 2022) as sharing tables were notorious for passing Covid on. Not sure whether that is still happening in 2023.

The 360 camera may make it sound louder as it was out over the side by a few metres. I certainly don’t remember it being an issue on the balcony and the suite was fairly soundproof with the door shut if I recall correctly. Thank you for watching and commenting 🙂

I didn't spend too long out there when we were underway, unless we were arriving or departing a port. I think it may be dependent on time of year and where you are in the world as to when the sun shines? The TV bracket was being moved by the movement of the ship. Perhaps the bracket needed tightening up? I have stayed in a forward stateroom on a rough transatlantic and remember the shudder when the bow crashed down into the ocean. I also remember feeling like my organs were trying to leave my body as I lay in bed!!
