As much as i wanna play it with certain metronome and keep up to it my way as a guitarist and feel good about what I'd achieve....but the feel of it originally by Richie is something different abd gives the goosebumps of really what it's meant to be.... Richie created it with the feel of the real meaning of the song ..... So much love for the creation of it ...... Phil is a great guitar virtuosity advocate, and i really love how he gives so much to the original style ..... . Awesome to hear them both....it helps in so many ways to enable a variety of articulation 🎉😊❤

Phil is sticking to the studio version (and he admitted he did that in the early days of his BJ career as 'there is nothing wrong with it and as way to pay respect to Sambora') whilst Ritchie is giving it a more blues feel.

The winner is Tico and Dave cos the drums and keyboards were great and they have been loyal from the start.

Phil X of superior guitar player hundred percent ... Bunch of super Bon Jovi fans here. I respect that they are just going to cling to Richie Sambora because he wrote the songs but Phil X can completely play anything like it's not even close Richie Sambora is in the dust. casual fans wouldn't be able to tell the difference I guess but every fan would be disappointed if they saw Phil and richest and side-by-side here at 10 and then copy to turn the best I could and then when they seen Phil ask completely dominate they say well yeah Richie still get a better feel or I just love Richie I don't care. That's the truth having said that I do prefer Richie Sambora's tone and I think he is a wonderful guitar player. I do not like Phil X tone very much at all, But his abilities are superior in every aspect

Reproducing someone else’s music is very demanding…

Phil is a better guitarrist than sambora... more tecnician... he put notes where their weren't and sound amazing ... anyway both are amazing.

It takes more talent to learn someone else's solo than play something you wrote with your own style.

I will always favor Richie but I’m a huge fan of phill X also and he was the right choice to fill Richie’s spot. Both solos were great. After the disaster tour the last couple years Jon has to come back and redeem himself he don’t need to prove it to us die hard fans we know he can the best singer from 80’s and early 90’s but he can’t go out with that disastrous tour it was painful to watch to say the least.

I have to give it to Ritchie - every note was so crisp and the emotion was felt from his playing. There's always an emotional attachment to music that you've written yourself and obviously that's replicated in your playing. Both guitarist are masters of their trade - but only one will be forever Bon Jovi. ❤

Richie is a GREAT guitarist. Phil is an adequate one. No contest. But in fairness Phil is a much better guitarist than me, so what the fuck do I know?

Sometimes some composers of solos and guitar parts are not able to repeat and improve their own music when they are olders, moments, age, everything ...it is the music and expresión of Richie....it cant be compared

Why compare guitarists like this? One created the music and therefore has the right/licence to play it however he likes and cannot be wrong. The other is painting by numbers (playing the original recording) note for note and cannot stray too far off track if at all. It's not nice and it's not fair to either of them. Steve Vai is a better guitarists than Sambora. Steven Tyler is a better singer than Sambora. Bob Dylan is a better wordsmith than Sambora. Now name an artist that has written, played and sung to the same or higher standard than Sambora. I've only got Prince (he danced too!!) but there ain't many more!!! BTW: The best guitarist in the world is probably playing in his bedroom right now and we'll probably never hear of him.

Beforei played it I knew who's was gonna be better. The guitar god I grew up idolising and who I've seen play that solo 10 times without a doubt.

Its not exact but close Phil does bot totally know it but still a great job on it.

PhilX is just better. Sam PRs is good and was there first, but if the roles were reversed you'd have to admit the better solo takes were from PhilX. It's a shame that he couldn't have been in the band from the beginning

Ritchie plays more passionately but Phil plays more smoothly.

Sambora not only created that incredible solo, he also plays it better, more soulful and with better, violinlike tone

Jon n Ritchie is a package, like Axl and Slash... but sure Phil X is a very good guitar player, just like Buckethead or DJ Ashba, replacing someone like Ritchue Samboro in a band like Bon Jovi is far from easy...
