What to do if the stem is stuck and i cant fold it ?(handlepost)

Where can I buy the Dahon part 387389 - the stem locking block? It’s the white nylon cube with a metal insert.

I just bought a used 2014 Dahon Matrix with lockjaw. The bike had very little use but the lockjaw adjustment was over-tightened and un-able to fold just by turning the quick release bolt. My first adjustment attempt was a disaster. I loosened the adjustment bolt to allow both « solid » locking and hinge movement on the quick bolt, but didn’t appreciate that the quick bolt was only 1/4 turn locked. During my test ride, this folded « quicker than a bear trap « after hitting the first bump. After more careful reading of the manual, I managed to adjust the top hinge to get the required 1/2 turn with a click, but the bottom hinge could not be adjusted (either 1/4 turn max, or no stop at all). My second test with one good hinge also failed like a bear trap. I now only use the bike with fully over-tightened adjustment bolts and loosen 4 bolts to fold. I am not impressed with the complex lock-jaw design that has a rotating lobe mechanism that has only a few mm adjustment range between the lobe stopping at 1/4 turn and not entering the « safe zone » and the lobe completely skipping out of the safe zone and free wheeling, with bear trap failure mode. Surely there’s a simpler and more reliable folding mechanism. I would prefer a hinged bolt with Brompton-like butterfly nut that takes >5 turns and gives some warning before failure.

Bad explanation! The 10mm is a lock nut. You loosen it first, then adjust the tightness with the 6mm hex bolt, then re-tighten the 10mm lock nut when you're done!

I tightened it too much. It won't fold anymore. How to loosen it now?

I think a job with part of the process, not complete. (2) Something very important before placing a new cable, which are made of steel, and is not seen in your video, is to always lubricate the new cable and the guide sleeve inside, with "WD40" bicycle lubricant. It is always good to lubricate and not install dry. (3) The brake cable guide, which is seen and comes from the factory on Dahon bicycles, is not good, it gets damaged and loosens at the stops, as time goes by. It has happened with other Dahon users, I have had to replace the guide 3 times and it can be dangerous if they fail/are damaged while driving at high speed, they can cause an accident. I made the decision to replace the Dahon guide with a guide from the RavX Design company, installing the "V-Brake Noodle Kit", they are safer and firmer. What are the dimensions of the bolt (diameter, thread type)? I can't find this information anywhere and in my country they sell without the bolts (I own a Vitesse D6 from 2004, going strong!). Suggestion: include bolt sizes on the manuals as a new column on each torque table
