Rhondas self worth is attached to her accomplishments. The issue with that is that Rhonda was a one trick pony. Once the other girls surpassed her skill level. Her ego could not handle it. So she crumbled. Rhonda thought she could strike with a highly skilled and multiple world champ in boxing and kickboxing. We all saw what happened. Then she thought she could do the same with Amanda. Done. Rhonda had that same implosion after the Olympics when she didn’t win. I’m always tickled when I see her shadow box particularly the clip at 5:00. lol what is she doing with her head. Any half decent coach would her told her to stop trying flex her weak striking and stick to what she is an expert at.

She was not a great fighter. Womens MMA at the time was just starting and like mens MMA it evolved into a much different sport than it started like. Men from the modern era of fighters would absolutely kill the pioneers of MMA. Just like with Rousey she had zero standup so once someone learned some take down defence and could fight standing up Rousey got smashed. Anyone who was saying that Rousey could fight or strike never saw Rousey hit the mitts or shadow box. She looked absolutely retarded when she tried to box. And now her excuse is that she had CTE and thats why all of a sudden she couldnt take a shot she said she would get hit and could not fight after because of head trama. That is all cap she took a lot of punches against Holly and then she got kicked in the head that would have knocked anyone out. Rousey couldnt strike and she had zero striking defence. It wasnt her punch resistance that had her lose it was that people learned some take down defence and that keeps the fight on the feet and that is when the self proclaimed best fighter who ever lived got smashed. I encourage anyone who thinks that Rousey could fight at all to watch her shadow box and hit the mitts before the Holly Holmes fight. She looked retarded and Holmes knew she would smash her because of it. Holmes actually can punch and Nunes can punch correctly also. Rousrys striking was the worst I have ever seen by someone people consider to be a top fighter. Womens MMA was just starting when she was doing her thing and the competition started to learn how to really fight. They learned how to punch and kick and defend themselves against Rouseys judo crap and her bunk arm bars and she was beat then. A real fighter would have learned how to strike and then she could call herself good but instead she had a yes man for a coach who did not teach her how to punch correctly and he fed her lies about her being able to beat Mayweather and she believed him. Has she looked at herself in the clip where she was shadow boxing and she went cross eyed while doingvit what was she looking at then. She literally goes cross eyed in that clip and she couldnt tell that she sucked from that? Rousey let things go to her head and we see that she hasnt been humbled she still believes in her crap and her hype. She was a crappy fighter who was fighting even crappier fighters at first. The women learned how to fight better a Rousey didnt try to improve because she bought the crap her crappy coach fed her.

I always hoped Miesha would somehow be able to beat Rousey but it was a nightmare matchup for Miesha. In fact, come to think of it, most of Rousey’s opponents were much smaller than her except for Holm.

She was PAINFULLY overrated & what's sad is that someone like Amanda has nowhere near the fame and especially the money that Ronda has.

She was great at armbars, not much else. And Dana kept throwing her softballs for awhile because she was the face of women in MMA as she won the very first female fight. Until female MMA was a bit more solidified and widely accepted, they were handing her fights. After it became a bit more commonplace and it was attracting both more elite fighters and eyes, and after quite a dominant, long run, only then did they allow her to fall. No one can be champions forever, right?

I think Rhonda's fall from grace was beautiful to watch. Very hard to like her. She really was a terrible sport.

She was a good judo artist with a ground game and her ego and coach told her she was the best puncher in the world. She should have stuck to her tools that won her fights. I see alot of fighters lose their strengths over time.

That turned out to be a mistake especially when Rhonda wouldn't touch gloves with Holly! Holly is a First Class Act and very professional! Never gets old watching that head kick from Holly on Rhonda.
