I show you how to remove the plastic faring(s) and gas tank off of a 2008-2012 Ninja ex250r. This is a fairly easy process. Tools needed can be found in the owner's kit. I recommend using higher quality tools for ease of use. you will need: an Allen wrench set (or drill bits) a phillips and flat head screwdriver and needle nose pliers

So where is the choke lever suppose to be at the bars to adjust? Off or on?
I was expecting the column a nightmare to get into, but that looks so easy! The sprayer switch just broke on mine, Looks like I can change it over the weekend!
Can you put it back together
Ah so this is why the left side of my bike is leaking oil. Didn’t realize the small bracket attached using the cover bolts as aftermarket.
Ty switch failed made a circuit to headlights and they were on even with the switch off and the key out killed the battery heard the ECU clicking pulled the switch and killed a short very fast thank you very helpful video
How did you fix this issue? I've put two new switches in mine and am having the issue with lights staying on and brights coming on when car is off. Also killed the old battery.
czcams.com/video/KDsa-iVb6vE/video.html ^^Would recommend this one instead
Yes, getting it out is easy if you can find those tabs!
Thanks so much for this! Fixed my mom’s car in about 10 minutes for about $60.
Absolute legend, thanks mate, from Australia
This is a awesome video ! but how do you remove the seat ? I need to install a power commander. The video made by their website does not show it. :(
The seat just lifts off. Remove the rear seat with the key(cylinder is on the tail on the left side) once it is off just life up and pull back on the main seat it will easily come off.
@@blewbot i have not seen any key cylinder anywhere on the tail but I'll check again and get back to you.
Where’d you go?! I’d love to see some more motorcycle vids from you!
Got one issue putting back together lost push pins replaced then but the one that goes on cowling around dash push pin won’t hold down
hey man, been having some trouble and can't seem to find a straight answer anywhere !! would truly be a blessing if you could just briefly explain what that extra valve under the tank with no hose attached was . i have the same bike and have all the other hoses attached however i have one more extra hose that looks like it would connect to whatever that valve thing is that has the wire coming out of it for the fuel gage ..
there is no O2 sensor?
Great guide, I'm having trouble removing the front fender, (the water guard over the front tire)
You need more lighting, it’s hard to see what you are doing down there.
My wiper stalk broke. I’m assuming the method is similar on the other side?
Does Ninja 650 has vibration problem
Im in the middpe of doing this right now. But i stopped short of removing the pop rivets because i dont know if this ruins them or not. I dont have replacements, can i reuse the same rivets when reassembling?
You ever end up trying?? I’m about to do the same for an oil / coolant change. Do I need different pop rivets or are they good to go being reused ?
@@BigDraco__1 yeah they're reusable, some may break if you're not careful but you can find replacements easily
@@dcpride26 awesome bro appreciate you responding 👍
Can you remove the head of the engine after removing the fairings to do valve clearance check?
Keep it moving people, nothing to see here except one monkey grooming another, totally normal behavior; just picking insects off of the other one's pads. Clickbait title.
En 300cc avec pot Akrapovic c'était une moto plaisir performante et fiable qui m'a donné bien du plaisir !
thanks for reminding me about the bottom tab too
If you unplug the gauge or speedometer, does it mess up the odemeter or anything else?
Nope. It's all good when you plug it back in.
They wanted $135 at O rellys and $127 at Auto zone..Amazon $57... yes shop around.
I just bought this part and it came with some grease. Where do i out the grease?
Thank you so much! Your help was perfect. I changed my own turn signal switch within 10 minutes all because of you! I'm amazed at the random helpful things people post and how helpful they really are! So thank you again. The hardest part was trying to get the switch out and you explained it perfectly. It worked like a charm!
Hey so my ninja 250 only has one hose off the side of the gas tank (where yours has 3) where does that line go to?
So you can use that oil drain plug as well? and where is the little gasket that goes on the filter shaft?
Your step by step is so clear and helpful. But it also made me think twice about removing them myself. My next worry is putting them back on. Thank you.
what size screws are they on the fairings?
Great helpful video ty
Steamayyy
March 2020 and this video is still relevant, thanks alot man, great stuff
Do you know where the line from the side front of the gas tank is supposed to be routed to?
Mine only has the one that's unmarked in his vid
Do you need to use Loctite to keep all the bolts in place long-term?
Thats shit looks hot literally..
i discovered this today
without the help of this video
Can i ride my bike without all the fairings and still be okay?
Can't see a problem with it, in fact it would essentially be a "street fighter" then. The fairings are cosmetic. They probably provide some aerodynamics but nothing that would prevent you from riding it.
Unfortunately this doesn’t apply to the 2010 model :( there are another pair of screws that seem unreachable on the front between the cover and the steering wheel. Still trying to figure out a way to remove them :/
Amazing video very helpful for beginners
This is by far the most detailed and easy to follow video about removing a ninja fuel tank. Thank you.
Omg I just fixed my turning signal myself and saved money from paying someone else to do it... And I'm a female. So if I can do it, ANYONE CAN!!!! Thanks for the easy instructions... GRATITUDE
Thank you for your video berry helpful for me👍
This is genius thank you
very helpful i subbed
Thanks man your videos are one of the best
your ninja has an extra component my 2012 doesnt have. What is this box toward the front at 3:34 in the video? I took a screenshot imgur.com/gallery/N4R8Ncn
looks like fuel evap cannister. www.kawasaki.com/Parts/PartsDiagram/6924/2012/EX250JCF Are you in California? non-California bikes apparently don't have this.
Hey man, great video especially the one on how to remove the fairings. How come yo haven't made any more in over a yr now? Your videos are very informative and of great quality.
Thank you so much for this video, it's great! I ran into a problem though - when I was removing the piece with the pop rivets (around 3:40), at the same time two nuts also fell out from I don't know where...I think they are 10mm. Or at least that's what socket they fit. I'm not sure where they came from, any help would be appreciated!
Karli M hmmm not sure where they would have come from. There are a few possibilities from that area. Exhaust header, radiator, somewhere up top. That area is kind of a catch all. I'd start looking at anything that you have taken off or had work done on before. Unlikely they would just fall off on their own.
@@blewbot Considering I have zero mechanical experience I should probably have someone who knows what they're doing look at it then lol. Thank you for the reply!
