Welcome to Bakers Bend Balangoda, nestled within the lush greenery of the Nonperial Estate, a hidden gem waiting to be discovered! Join us on an unforgettable journey through this picturesque location, where nature's beauty meets colonial charm.
Baker’s Bend is a viewpoint situated in Nonpareil Estate close to Belihuloya. It is a unique horseshoe-shaped bend located at the 23rd bend of the Nonpareil Estate Road leading from Belihuloya to Nagarak Banglow. Baker’s Bend stands at a height of approximately 1530 m. This bend offers amazing views of the surrounding areas, including Balathuduwa, Gommolikanda, the Adara Kanda Mountain Range, Udawalawe Reservoir, and Samanalawewa Reservoir. There is a story saying that the British Governor Baker used to travel from the area where the bend is presently located. One day, the horse he rode slipped and fell off the cliff, but the Governor survived. Grieved by the loss of his horse, the Governor built this bend in the shape of a horseshoe to commemorate his horse and travel companion.
