Delightful Donuts Quilt (Crumb blocks invited.)
My friend wanted a colorful quilt for his bed. This pattern was especially made for him. It turned out so well that we wanted to share it with you too. We want to make it in monochromatic scraps next! We made an official pattern that is for sale in our shop linked below. We included baby quilt sizes and twin in our queen sized pattern. Or, some of you can probably make it just from watching the video if you prefer. It's fairly simple and best of all, it has BONUS half square triangles. We' are filming a future video, making several baby quilts sewn together with those bonus triangles. SO MUCH FUN!

I love turning Mens shirts into jewel neck pullover tops. I also look for long sleeves, and because I live in Florida, cotton is a must. There are a lot of nice rayon shirts out there too, but I’m not an expert sewist yet, and rayon frays a lot. I pick all the seams apart very carefully, though. No just lopping off the collar for me. It’s so much fun!

I have used the term craft worthy since I do other crafts as well. Some people are craft worthy and some aren’t. My own mother was not craft worthy. Took me a long time to realize that and cut her off (like she cared). My older brother, who had been hard to deal with since the day I was born, is craft worth. He values the time invested. 🤷‍♀️

I have just finished making my first scrappy quilt and a friend has sandwiched it for me (because I am allergic to the basting spray). I need to quilt it now and am wondering if I need to sew my lines closer than my usual 4” because some of the pieces are quite small. It is a quilt for the Linus project, so it might have a tough life with some child, but will hopefully be loved as it is so bright and cheerful. I have managed to fussy cut in dinosaurs, cats, dogs, Mr Men, cars, trucks and all sorts of other little items to “find”. I only have a domestic sewing machine and don’t know how to do free sewing with the feed dogs down. Many thanks for any advice.

I agree with others that you are a great instructor! There are thousands of wonderful crafters, but not all of them are able to teach others to be the great crafters. Some of them (like my DH 😊) would say: "Don't you see? Its obvious!" And some just are not quite verbal and using bunch of "aaa" and "you no" or "you no what I mean" after every word, which doesn't help the learner... Many thanks to you! In 2 years my granddaughter is going to graduate high school, and I would like to make a quilt for her. So, I am getting prepared. I am not a stranger to machine sewing, but never have done quilting before, wish me luck, friends! Thank you very much for sharing!

BORDER ?? With the foundation still attached to the blocks does it make the center of the top thicker with a single layer border? How does that affect the final sandwich and quilt? (I skimmed through the comments and didn't find an answer.)

No debt! Absolutely know your financial limits! "All of it" is my phrase! I typically look for skinny bolts. Have a friendly conversation with the clerk, they typically appreciate not having to restock. Easy for me to do over $1k in a trip. Always find the "sale" items first - I will often pass on the 'full price' even if I truly adore it. I have now also begun to look for coordinating fabrics - in 3s, of course (IYKYK). BTW - my last tabulation was over 2-miles of stash. My two biggest problems: borders for the tops (esp those scrappy ones); and keeping the stash dust free (clean bins - interior labels facing outward on all four sides).

They have located needs for baby, lap an twin sized quilts. Lately I have had friends and relatives coming out of the woodwork "needing" my quilts. I love it!
