Jif strikes back! PB & Chocolate Vs MRE Chocolate Peanut Butter
So the MRE “Chocolate Peanut Butter” is 240 calories for a 1.5 oz package, which works out to 160 calories an ounce compared to the Jif Peanut Butter & Chocolate which is 200 calories per ounce.
Online at Walmart it’s $3.64, I paid $3.18 In the store on 7/22/24.

Too hot for me, and I like hot food.
I've never seen this Jif product until now. Cocoa processed with alkali is dutched chocolate, which I love, so it's gotta be good.
@@RealBigBadJohn crazy isn’t it? It aaa on a high side end cap in a rack, not in the main run. The oldest Amazon review I can find is dated May 21, 2024 and that’s for a case of 12. Really disappointing Uncle Sam reduced their nut butters to a 1oz packet and getting the chocolate pb spread is almost impossible and costly, and here this is 15 ounces for $3.18. Unreal. Thanks for the comment. It’s very tasty.
@@georgiabigfoot Note: I checked and my Wal-Fart has it for $3.64. You got a great deal.
@@RealBigBadJohn yea I just posted that link in the description portion. Unsure why it was $3.18 I’m sort of afraid they may be trying to push it out, odd it wasn’t in the main run with all the other PB’s. I’ve seen this kind of behavior before on excellent items food manufacturing gives no promotion to, seems like they would run advertising on something like this.
That 💩is disgusting, and I from Atlanta!!!!
Plot Twist: The can was bought at Costco.
Now your talking!! How do we get Costco to carry that? Maybe sell in a larger format.
a) You can just take the hot dog out of Costco b) Putting mustard on a chilli dog is a crime against nature and humanity c) Paying seven and a half bucks for a can of chilli that is full of soy by-product seems weird
A. No free soda refills out of Costa B. You are clearly from NYC and not an Atlanta or Chicago native. C. 7 and a half dollars for 8 servings is cheap compared to paying $5 per chili dog at the restaurant. D. I agree it is weird, in the restaurant they serve all beef chili, the canned version, while the same taste has added tvp. Thanks for watching.
First thanks for commenting and watching. A. Eating inside Costco affords free unlimited soda refills. B. Proof you aren’t an Atlanta native or from the south, likely NYC. C. 7 and a half bucks for enough chili to coat 10, 1/4 lb dogs is a deal compared to The Varsity charging you $5 for a single smaller format chili dog. Also I contend this canned Varsity product is 4 times the solids of the same size can of watery $3 Hormel chili. D. I agree, the tvp is odd. In the Varsity it’s all beef chili. Since you read labels, note these prior canned versions both have different nutritional facts and ingredients from each other and from this can. Of note, all taste the same, and taste the same as what’s in the physical restaurant. See my prior vid, The Varsity Atlanta Canned Chili Review Analysis and Flowers Bakery Hot Dog Buns czcams.com/video/lhGp26iovtI/video.html
@@JaksIRL well they live for mustard on hot dogs in Chicago and Bavaria so avoid those places too.

@@georgiabigfoot I wrote that there is not to be beans in the chili. Also chopped up pickles.
This is a lot of work smuggling ingredients in when you can just make a dog at home. You are only making Costco employees feel bad for their crap offerings. Varsity chili dogs are great!
@@RyllenKriel well the payoff is the Costco patrons walking by ogling at my chili dog, I bet it feels like driving a Cybertruck! I could have done this at home but why forego unlimited soda refills? Agreed, Varsity is great, thanks for watching.

Looks so good I think the Varsity get their Hot Dogs in Macon Ga.
Hey Luke thanks for watching. That’s interesting info about the wieners, Any idea the name of the place in Macon? Those wieners are unique as we all know but it’s interesting to me the Varsity wiener weighs 35 grams. It’s impossible to find that format size in groceries, the Oscar Mayer frank is 42 grams, Ballparks are typically 55+ grams and both Costco and Sam’s Club cafe hot dogs are 113 grams / 1/4 lb. Have you ever been to Chris Famous Hot dogs in Montgomery, AL? Their wieners and their buns are very similar to The Varsity, Chris’ is also very old, and Hank Sr. wrote quite a few songs at their lunch counter. Also I’ve never been to Nu Way hot dogs in Macon, wonder how they taste and weigh, etc.
@@georgiabigfoot Gordon Muir said they were made in Macon but never said who was making them

In the video I saw he said they were made for them in Macon Ga but gave no name.
@@lukedawg357SIG cool! Great lead I believe you. Ever been to Nu Way hot dogs in Macon ? I have never been.
Seems like a steep price for the can.
@@matthewschmitz8817 yea it’s a little steep but it’s a very packed can, unlike soupy Hormel chili or soupy wolf chili. That said Marie Callender’s and also Kelly’s chili are both really thick and are about $2.50 for the same size can. The amount o chili I put on cost me about 75 cents for the 1.5 ounces, which while pricey for canned chili is way less than paying $13 for 2 chili dogs, onion rings and a fountain drink at the varsity. Now I’m not opposed to paying $13 at the varsity. It has a certain taste, and experience there that harkens all sorts of memories eating there with my folks, and visits on school field trips, and on the way to a falcons game. Thanks for watching
It is a steep price, you can make your own chili dog toppings at home for far cheaper. The secret is moisture control. Don't use beans, use dried onion and garlic powders, use tomato paste and you can have a great chili topping for a dog or a burger.
Are you looking for something like the Dorman 621300? That shows up (along with other brands of the same product) for my 99 suburban OBS in the AC condenser fan assembly section of rockauto. Ive been looking into it recently and trying to find an installation guide. 105 degrees here in utah the past few weeks and my AC is struggling in traffic
Thank you for watching and your answer. That 621-300 looks appealing, you think it will fit the space on the driver side pushing into the condenser ? Or is it more for a gmt800 ? Same situation here on got 95+ days in stop And go it’s not cold enough, but driving 55+ A/C works great. Does the assembly diagram show how it fits in the 99 ? Does it show 1 or 2 ?
Ok I’m looking at rock auto and I see all the offerings have a certain shape so I imagine that’s designed to fit our space. Thanks for this lead. I should have gone to rock auto first. Do you have any idea how you will hook yours up ? Possibly a manual switch or is there a harness ? Or I’ve read where some tie it in to work when the fan speed is on high only, that seems like an appealing idea. GB

@@RealBigBadJohn well Sam’s is selling it by the pallet for cheap. To me it tasted like a tender beef stew with Irish stew components.
@@georgiabigfoot No, I'm saying the lamb/mutton would be a hard sell in the USA.

I'd love to try heavy mayo but I'd never be able to use a gallon's worth. Sure looks good.
@@RealBigBadJohn not sure where you live but Buford hwy farmers market has the heavy in gallon size for $12. That’s a deal and it stores well in the fridge, I tried freezing it but it separates and then doesn’t Re emulsify well. So what I do to keep my bride from flipping out is I divy it up into smaller containers and keep the extras in fridge drawers. It’s makes a really thick Tartar sauce with Heinz relish, and fry mustard added.
Last time I stayed in a place it was $45.00 dollars a night in Union City GA back in the mid 90's
I don't remember chicken salad there. This is a real find, thank you.
So the Varsity discontinued the chicken salad in 2019. They made a big deal back then how they would publish the recipe, and the general public cried “we need the mayo brand if you post it”. Sure enough they posted the recipe card and mayo brand to give it the right taste. My mother always got the chicken salad at north avenue at least since the 1970’s, Dad and I always got chili dogs( Onion rings and a coke. I love the varsity and while folks can argue there are other chili dogs out there none taste like the varsity. It’s a fond memory , filled with memories of a by gone era. You will enjoy a vid I’m working on right now about the red seasoning shaker on some varsity tables. I hope to have it up tomorrow.
@@georgiabigfoot I guess I never knew about the chicken salad because my standard order has always been two chili slaw dogs, french fries, and a large Frosted Orange. That's it. I ordered the grilled pimento cheese only once but didn't care for its messiness. Besides, I make the best pimento cheese.
@@georgiabigfoot I always thought the red seasoning shaker was cayenne pepper. Was I wrong? I always added it to the fries.
@@RealBigBadJohn well I smuggled some out last week. My opinion is it’s cayenne and paprika mixed 1 to 1. Just comparing straight cayenne at home to the smuggled powder (i sprinkled some in a varsity hat!) the cayenne is much hotter and wrong color to the varsity. Paprika at home Vs varsity was wrong color and not spicy compared to varsity. However mixed 1 to 1, same color and 99% taste match to the varsity. I even found the exact shakers varsity uses on Amazon and ordered them, I’ve read an online forum where people swear the varsity uses “hot Hungarian paprika”, and Paula deen says a substitute for hot Hungarian paprika is mixing cayenne and regular paprika. I always assumed it was straight cayenne too, but comparing at home side by side I don’t believe it is straight cayenne. Did you watch my varsity well done rings vid ?
@@georgiabigfoot Wow, extremely interesting, makes sense. Thank you for this info. You won't believe what I do. Agreed, watch this and note it calls for Dukes It’s chicken salad but I speculate it has similar components. The Varsity Chicken Salad Sandwich Recipe + Review czcams.com/video/w7mcThMwLC8/video.html
@@georgiabigfoot Ten-4, will do. During a visit to The Varsity about 20 years ago, I saw employees cleaning the dining areas with supplies from boxes labeled "Marzetti Original Coleslaw Dressing." I've always wondered if that was the secret.
@@RealBigBadJohnwait!! Hold the phone. Are you serious ? That’s a great lead. I think it’s extremely possible it’s the marzetti coleslaw dressing and possibly even additionally mixed with a mayonnaise, likely Dukes. Now Dukes does have 2 versions. Regular mayo and a “heavy duty” mayo which is a great thick base, check out my review of it. I’ll investigate marzetti and get back with you, Duke’s Heavy Duty Mayonnaise Ranch Recipe czcams.com/video/_14OX7PxD04/video.html
@@RealBigBadJohnI’ve done some poking around tonight and appears marzetti makes an “original cole slaw dressing” and a “southern style cole slaw dressing”. It’s of note you remember specifically seeing “original”. Looks like it can be had on Amazon. I’m willing the bet they mixed it with mayo, likely dukes. Possibly without mayo, but we will know as soon as we get our hands on some. Have you ever seen marzetti original slaw dressing anywhere?
@@georgiabigfoot Yes, I buy Marzetti Original at Walmart and Publix all the time. It's available in refrigerated and shelf-stable versions. I never knew they made a Southern-style slaw dressing. I'll have to look for it.

I had a backflip on my '15 and moved it to my '19 and still use it. It looks like you use your truck as a truck and the cover just kind of wore out. I don't use mine as hard and so far it hasn't broke off the locks like yours did. I think it is a pretty good product. Better than the one piece fiberglass cover I hated or the canvas cover that rotted in the Arizona sun.
That’s good, I definitely feel I got my moneys worth out of it, just wish I could have figured out how to reattach those support bars. It’s rated to carry 400 lbs on top and the most I ever carried on top was 250 lbs evenly distributed in those black totes with yellow lids from home depot. Those rivets have a very small lip on them, maybe the nature of rivets, but the metal they go into is very thin.
He didn’t show me shit
Thanks for watching , crimps are at 1:13.
Our Bakflip is about the same age and has done the exact same thing (garaged when at home). I'll be replacing it this year but not with another Bakflip.
Interesting, what sort of other options are there? In it’s prime this bakflip was glorious. I probably could have averted some of the bowing and warping if there was a good way to reattach those 2 riveted support beams that popped off. I sorta feel like if the manufacturer had used a different rivet that had a wider expanding head they wouldn’t have popped off. Thanks for watching and commenting.
