Greek but i am not sure about origins of song itself, they could easily be diffrent since we have Serbian version of it. Its possible that its Turkish and it stayed in Balkans after their occupation and got diffrent versions (Serbian,Greek). Now i can't promise I am telling the complete truth here, but that's my best guess. Regards from Serbia!

I found more info, original of this song is sang by Muharem Serbezovski a gupsy origon musician from former state of Yugoslavia. Its his original song. Greeks just sang their version of it.

It is not Muharem s original song. His version is just mostly known. It is try that is from Yugoslavia from the beginning of 70'. It is inspired by Indian film Friendship, which was very popular in that time in Yugoslavia. Tekst of the song completely follow the story of the film and many people thought that song is also from the film but it is not ( I watch it my self). It seems like some musisan ( it is not sure is it from sity of Nish or Skoplje) inspired by this film just made music in Indian style and write lyrics that is basically storyline from the film.

You made a mistake in the song. The line goes "Megaloni Kyo Theos" Not Keros.
