Yamaha Banshee Toomey T5 vs T6
This is my first video so please excuse the garbage editing.
Today I tested Toomey Racing T5 and T6 pipes for the Yamaha Banshee. The bike is a stock cylinder, ported, 4 mil stroker with Keihin 35mm PWK air Stryker carbs. I did many runs using a Tiny Tach to monitor peak RPM as well as the Drag GPS unit to track telemetry data. Overall consensus is that the pipes perform darn near the same in real world riding and is not worth buying the 2nd set of Toomey Pipes to match your application. You might see small differences on a dyno in a controlled environment but in actual real world riding the difference was not enough when factoring in rider weight, gearing, wind drag etc.
I did the best I could to get accurate results with the tools I have.

2004 CR250 Crisp Jetting *Raw Sound*

2004 CR250 that I’m doing a full build on. About 90% complete in this video. High compression, cylinder porting, intake tract modification, case volume correction, and full Pro Circuit exhaust make it sound CRISP. This is currently running VP C-12 fuel with Klotz Benol mixed at 32:1 and the jetting is still on the rich side. I'll do some minor tweaking to the jetting as I get the engine broken in.
2015 Genesis 5.0 Muffler Delete

2015 Genesis 5.0 v8 w/ 27k miles on the odometer. Was originally going to install electronic cutouts but it is not feasible in California. Instead, I removed the stock mufflers and ran Y pipes to the stock tips. The car is loud for a few days but settles in with a nice deep AMG- like sound. Worth it!

Yep. I’ve used the air striker also but preferred the mikuni for motocross, the mid to top power was much better.
I though the t6's sounded better but i like the race sked crotch rocket sound
The t6’s had some hours on the muffler packing. The t5’s were brand new

What exact handle bars are those & what jetting sizes are you using?
It’s just the pro circuit recommended jetting and the bars are the Windham bend.

Sea level with 38 pilot and maybe a 160 main. I’m running 35mm air strikers with oxygenated race gas so it might be a little different for you.
your a arms are on backwards
I prefer to install them according to the manufacturers recommendation, just like they are in the video.

What reedcage, carb, and jetting are you running? Also are you running a forged or cast, single or double ring piston? Sounds really nice.
Vforce with pro circuits recommended jetting on c12. I’ve run a few different types of pistons and didn’t notice a difference.

max rpm wont change. thats determined by your cdi... the rpm is based on where the power curve in relation to the rpm
There is no rev limiter on a banshee. Please clarify what you mean by “the power curve in relation to the rpm.” Port timing and pipe dimensions have the biggest effect on overall rev range.

I always felt like there was no real difference between the T5s and TR6s aside from the T5s having a little more of a crisp sound I found a guy selling a set of TR6s I can’t wait to see how they compare to my T3s

@@a_drewski the T3s are good but they’re made for J arm banshees mine is a regular a arm banshee and the head pipes hit the upper a arm bolts

It was pro circuits recommended baseline jetting for the ‘04.
What year is your car and how many mpg on highway
It got around 16 overall maybe 21-22 on the highway.
T5 for ported, big bore, stuff like that. T6 for stock bikes. That's what I've been told.

They both solid pipes but T5’s can support bigger mods like porting, bigger bore, stroked motors The T6’S choke it up when you include those mods
This is ported, stroked, bigger carbs, and a bigger bore.
@@a_drewski seems like everyone says what you said originally and they hate the t6s and they don’t run good on a modded bike. This video is literally proving to be no difference really on the toomeys. If you want a drag build cpi or shearers are the way to go though for sure.
How long you had this car and had you drove out of state lately and do you still have this vehicle
California has the most strict vehicle laws in the country with the exception of rear window tint, so if it’s good here, it’s good anywhere else. Driving out of state will have no effect on you.

In 1990 for my 16th birthday, my dad bought me a 1989 Banshee. I have LOVED these quads ever since! Should add an edit note. Commiefornia is why we don't have these nice machines being produced anymore...lol

@@blanchard899 sea level and idk it ranges from 30's to over 100 degrees. Air screw adjustment is all I do.
Just bought my first banshee (04) and it came with t6's , been wondering whats the first mods or parts I should buy. Bought a Urmosi Throttle though. Great quad btw!
Easiest and cheapest mods are to get a billet head to increase compression, pipes, and pod filters. Do the TORS delete on the carbs, they are more than plenty for a 350.

I own a 2004 too , I love the bike but hate the smart carb that came with the bike . Its hard to start compared to my other 250s .

@@Catman1987 I’m running the stock mikuni without any issues. Someone would love to trade you for their stock carb. The smart carbs run too lean in my experience and can be hard to start and the power is flat.
The 2004 Cr 250 has a throttle sensor plug correct ? Only because i found a Mikuni TMX 38 carb for my bike online new .
