Sally Parkes began her teaching career in 1998 and is an international yoga teacher trainer and author of best selling books The Manual of Yoga Anatomy and The Healing Yoga Bible. Having delivered many trainings across the globe in Dubai, Doha, Goa and Andalucía, Sally now runs predominantly online yoga teacher training programs in 200hr Hatha Flow Yoga, Pregnancy and Postnatal Yoga, whilst her yoga school, The Sally Parkes Yoga Academy, also hosts Yin Yoga and Fertility Yoga Teacher Training.
Sally draws on a softer and more inclusive way of teaching yoga which influences her pregnancy and postnatal yoga teacher training courses.

Can we do this after 4 weeks after surgery
I would usually advise to wait until 10 weeks after a surgical birth to start a yoga practice. Always get the ok from your healthcare provider before resuming any exercise after surgery. Wishing you a healthy recovery 🙏❤
I’m from Japan and so grateful for your video❤ I tried this yoga on the right day after surgery and the next day, too. Doctors and Midwives are really surprised to see how I walk easily 😂 This is worth trying for every mom who undergoes C section.

Thanks so much Sally. I couldn’t make Mina’s class today because Theo has a cough and I’d have felt awkward around the other kids but I’ve just worked my way through this with some tranquil music on in the background and I feel good! Re the arm lifting etc, do you have anything focused on the elbow/shoulder at all please? My left side is so sore from holding and carrying Theo’s weight there all the time! Thanks so much again and hopefully see you at a class again soon 😊 Lara x

Thank you so much for this exercise and your knowledge. I loved how you explained every move in detail. I am 11 weeks post c section and went in to fat too hard in week 5 which caused further pain in hips and back. This is perfect to rehabilitate myself back into movement. Thank you so much xx
I'm so pleased that you found this class to be of benefit. It's so easy to go too hard too quickly, but a slower rehabilitation is much more beneficial. Good luck with your recovery xx

10 weeks post c section (second c section) and I never did any specific c section recovery first time round I just waited 6 months and went back into bootcamp and spin and I don't think that helped at all. Is it OK to continue doing this daily until I am 6 months out or should I do this for a month and then move onto a slightly more detailed post c section recovery? Can I do post c section pilates alongside, as in alternate days or just stick to this for now? Sorry for all the questions but I really want to heal properly this time. I am pairing this with c section scar massage and lymphatic drainage massage. Thanks in advance ❤
I would also like to say that my GP actually suggested post c section yoga and pilates at my 8 week check up to help my recovery ☺

I would not recommend that you start any exercise until at least 12 weeks following a c-section, and please get the all-clear from your healthcare provider before exercising.

Thank you so much for this video. I haven't had a csection, but i did have a partial hysterectomy about 10 years ago. I don't exercise and most "easy" workouts are so intimidating. But you made this so easy. So so easy. I've been doing this stretch routine everyday for 3 weeks and i already can feel the difference. I feel good after doing this, i feel like i can do more soon. I can get on and off the floor more easily now! The confidence boost, knowing that i can exercise at an appropriate level, that i can succeed, has been so good for me. So again, thank you so much! ❤

Does this help to reduce belly fat after c section???
It will help tone and strengthen the abdominal muscles but is not necessarily ‘fat burning’ it is important not to do so much after CS though so pls take your time xx

Thank you very very much! I'm 2 weeks after a c-section type of operation and I needed to move, stretch and show love to my body but was not quite ready for the majority of after-c-section videos out there. Nice, gendle, warming up exercises!

Hi Coach Sally!! Is this class ok for men too? I have always been very weak and unconfident and really struggle very much. My mom told that these lessons will help me build very thick strong arms and great confidence! I did this lesson with my mom. It was really hard for me and I did not even use any weights at all! My arms and legs just gave up in the end. My mom did the full lesson with dumbells of 20 lbs (8 kg)
Hi Jeremiah, Yes this class is suitable for men too. Start by using your own body weight for resistance and then slowly build up the weights that you use. great to hear you are working out with your Mom! Good Luck!

I will do this lesson again and again without weights and see how far I can go in this class. I am very thin and weak. I wish I can have the thick arms like my mom has, if it is even possible for me. When my Mom lifts a 15 kg potatoes bag and puts it on the kitchen table with just one hand I feel so demotivated. I wish I can do that even with two hands.

If baby weight is 3.5 kg in 36th week ...it can be done for turning cephalic position to breach baby

it felt like two different flows, first a little stronger and the second similar flow just for total beginners. I got nice and warm in the first 30 min and was a bit disappointed with the second part when it was same stuff just a lot simpler.
