Swapping the manual shift shaft on a 1994 4l80e to a 1995 4l80e
zhlédnutí 136Před 5 měsíci
In order to use a 1995 4l80e in my 1994 suburban, I had to swap the manual shift shaft from the 94 to the 95. In 1995 the 4l80e came with a neutral safety switch and the manual shift shaft was lengthened to compensate for that. All other aspects of the transmissions are the same from 1994 until 1997 I believe. #1994 #Chevy #Diesel #6.5Ldiesel #GMtrucks #Turbo #K2500Suburban #Turbodiesel #Rockau...

Great video! Im wanting know what other fittings are needed to complete the project? The fittings you used at the block? Also, did you use the stock cooler and what fittings did you use there. Are you pleased with the inatall thanks!

I originally bought the Blue ribbon Oil cooler from Quadstar tuning but ended up kinking a line during install(My fault) needed just one line so I bought this kit. Link for the oil cooler I used. quadstartuning.com/products/6-5l-blue-ribbon-oil-cooler-kit this kit costs 330.00 right now.

Hey guys , I’m in trouble here in Southern California, I bought a 94 Sierra with a 6.5L and the truck is beautiful and runs amazing, but it started overheating once I took it for a spin, it’s got so many mods that I don’t even know what everything is, and I can’t seem to fix the overheating 🥵

Cover the basics, clean the radiator, especially behind the oil cooler. Make sure your thermostat is working correctly, upgrade your water pump to the 98 and newer pump or Flow Kooler pump, Fan and clutch. Flush your coolant as well.

I have been scanning the market for intercoolers, looking at HP cap and pressure drop across the unit. Currently a 600hp with <1 psi drop seems like a good option. Putting mine in a E350 C class RV. I don't expect a lot of increase, as much as lower temps and a better charge density. Most people think the burned fuel makes the HP. It's the heated air that makes the HP. It is just a big compressor after all. If the air density is higher, the resultant energy is increased. Black smoke is money wasted. And more expanded air is also a cooling plus. Ask Gale Banks.

I like that the boost sense is on the plate and not the duct. High velocity air across the fitting can skew the pressure reading. Reducing temps is always a good thing on heat sensitive engines like the 6.5.

Great job !! Do you feel more power with the intercooler ?

Not really, but it knocks off around 100 degrees of Intake air temps.

I just used some needle nose pliers and something to pry it up with. The tab above it needs to be bent out of the way to get it out.

Good posting a video on this. You're right there isn't much out there showing how to do this. I did this a month ago. A little intimidating a first but a simple process. Good tip on getting the stub in the appropriate spot too. Could be easy to miss that. Good luck to you sir!

I did this same project on my '94...! I've been very happpy. I also replace the gas tank and lines to 3/8 AN fittings. I couldn't believe all the crap in the tank...no wonder the older pumps kept dying...best thing I ever did!
