As for the Gold Roger vs Gol D. Roger thing, in the Live Action he is just Gold Roger and Kureha is the first person to ever say anything about Gol D. vs Gold, so maybe she just crazy, no way to know for now. *shrug emoji* Miss Doublefinger is Jan 1st, or 1/1. Great vid as per usual!

Nakama does not specifically refer to Pirate Crew (that would be "Kaizoku Ichimi" but im not 100% on that), it is a wider term that CAN mean pirate crew, but also work group, friend group, motorcycle gang, study group, baseball team. Basically anything that is a group of people that come together for a common goal, then Nakama is an acceptable term. In One Piece it is used both on the personal level (such as Luffy and the Strawhats referring to themselves, or Shanks and his crew) but also used in the impersonal way (such as Arlong towards Nami, Krieg's vrew, or Kuro's crew). Luffy and Shank's use of Nakama is about a group of people that come together and treat each other as friends and family. Whereas a pirate like Kuro or Krieg treat it as a group of people who are together to work towards a common goal, that goal being the furthering of the captain (themselves). So specifically to the Zoan-Type's 3 forms (this bit is never explicitly explained in the anime but is explained in external information that has released in the past): - There is the base form (or for most devil fruit eaters the, "man" form or "human" form), for Chopper this is his reindeer form where is is walking on all 4 legs/ That is what Chopper looks like without any of his devil fruit showing through. - Then there is the "Beast Form, for Chopper this is when he is standing tall with hands that have fingers and he is very muscular (Chopper calls this "Heavy Point" but it is his "Beast Form" or "Human Form" in Chopper's case). For Dalton this is his Bison form. - Then there is the form in-between called the "Man-Beast Form" (For Chopper this is his small cute form that he calls "Brain Point", where he is showing both his born-with reindeer characteristics and his human characteristics). For Dalton this is the form he took when he attacked Wapol. As to Chopper's other forms. According to him they are only able to be accessed because of the Rumble Ball drug that he created. This is backed up by Chess-Marimo stating their confidence that a Zoan only has 3 forms, being the base, beast, and man-beast forms. Lmao when you called Usopp out seconds before Zoro! I did a spit take!

Can't answer that Chopper question just yet. All i can say is that the answer is consistent with what has been shown so far (confusing as that may seem right now). Chopper's backstory is so sad, and Hiriluk's last speech at the end was beautiful. Still one of my favorite lines in all media with the "when does a person die" bit.

Luffy's voice actress is named Mayumi Tanaka, she is fantastic and absolutely perfect for the voice of Luffy (imo). Her pained Luffy performance is heartwrenching. The next couple episodes are gonna be Pain Piece.

Jamie Lee Curtis just recently tweeted out saying that she was asked to be Dr. Kureha, but because of her current film schedule she cannot play the role. They have already cast someone else, but have not yet announced who. Zoan is neither where it grows, nor another name for Ox. Next episode is a certified banger, cant wait!

Blackbeard was indeed a real pirate in our world. This is from his Wikipedia page: Edward Teach (or Thatch; c. 1680 - 22 November 1718), better known as Blackbeard, was an English pirate who operated around the West Indies and the eastern coast of Britain's North American colonies. A lot of the pirates in One Piece are named after real world pirates from the past.

So if you want to call Sea Kings by their name without sounding like you are saying the pokemon you call them Neptunians (Neptune - ians). Neptunians is the actual name of the sea kings, but "sea kings" is the layman's term for Neptunians in the One Piece world. This information is shared outside of the story and then they just call them by the name Neptunians in the future without any context (in the anime). I wanna talk about something else from this, but i don't want to set expectations that could border spoilery stuff. Great vid!

The pacing in this ep is rough, and unfortunately will not be the last time the show has pacing similar to this ep, but it was more focused on the comedy element of One Piece. The Zoro pose bit and Nami and Zoro arguing while being turned into wax statues specifically. Something that the author clarified when asked about it Goldenweek's power over colors is not a devil fruit, but a form of hypnosis. So that makes 2 characters we have met that can hypnotize people, Jango being the first. To be fair to Usopp, he was running around the area from 2 stronger people trying to murder him. He ran past and back to the wax set more than 1 time, and he is fighting 2 people. He is doing his part. Great vid!

You are correct that not everyone that comes into the Grand Line comes to this island. Only the people that choose the Wiskey Peak route will ever have their log pose bring them here. We don't know for sure, but chances are Shanks and most others we know have been to the Grand Line have prob never been to this island. Great vid!

Dorry and Broggy have both been cast for the Live Action, but that may be just for a wanted poster easter egg like they did with Jango. Crocus is also cast, so we are more than likely getting Laboon!

So the story of the next 2 episodes come entirely from the various cover stories (one page, single panel spreads that are on the front page of the One Piece manga). Cover stories are told at the pace of 1 panel per manga chapter. These 2 episodes are all of those cover stories combined into one. These cover stories are 100% cannon and will have a direct affect on the One Piece world, they absolutely should not be skipped. Just like the Buggy cover story episodes that happened back in the East Blue. In those episodes we see how Buggy gets back to his crew and teams up with Alvida. Something that comes into play once we arrive at Loguetown, as we now know how he got there and why him and Alvida have teamed up. I always wonder if the people that insist episodes like this and the Buggy episodes actually read the manga. If they did, or if they did at least a tiny amount of research on the One Piece wiki, they would know that these cover story episodes are indeed cannon. All that to say that these 2 episodes are NOT filler, this is cannon material. Just that some people think that because it was on the cover of the manga chapter, and not in between the pages of it, that it is not cannon. So yeah, ages are definitely hard to gauge in this show due to Oda's art style. Helmeppo is 20 Koby is 16 Agree on the Live Action Helmeppo. The dude did such an amazing job. Captured the evil Helmeppo and nailed the gradual change in Helmeppo's ideals and goals. The Morgan hypnotism thought def has merit. I personally would guess that it was more so already in Morgan to abuse the power he was given, but him thinking that he actually took down Kuro surely played a part in inflating that ego and pushing him off the deep end. so maybe like 60% him and 40% in the push from Jango's hypnotism, maybe 70/30, that's my guess. I don't think they specified that Navy HQ was on the Grand Line or not at this point, i don't think they had. Great vid as always!

I always assumed that the town was there first, but Baroque Works took it over and either kicked out/killed all the residents, or made them into forceful conscripts of Baroque Works. This is never specified in the show and i am unsure if Oda has ever been asked for clarification. Great video!

Great video as usual. This is not my favorite of the One Piece filler by any means, but it's a lot better of a little story than i remember it being.

Also RIP to the audio for the majority of this video. Also yeah that green cloak person is interesting. did you know they were shown in the Live Action during Rogers execution scene. Just the green hood of the cloak though.

So for the filler stuff ill get a little more in detail with it to hopefully clear anything up you have not already gleamed (and to correct some incorrect information on my previous list). Overall there are only 100 filler episodes in all 1105 episodes of One Piece so this is not something you will need to fret on too much over the course of the show (the anime will eventually start to pad out the episodes to make up for the lack of filler eps). 1. Ep 54: The only part of this episode that is cannon is the last bit specifically from 21:00 to the end of the episode except replace the Navy with a storm. 2. Ep 55: The only cannon part of this episode is from 2:55 - 8:00 (except the thing that happens just happens on it's own not by the acts of anyone on the ship). 3. Ep 61: Everything from 13:25 onward is cannon the next filler episodes are 98 and 99 (though i personally enjoy 99 but that is mainly because of the screen time we get with the character that episode revolves around). 3.a. Technically episode 102 is filler as well but i always tell people to watch it anyways due to some talks between some characters that are informed by later actions (in that they set the later actions up without spoiling it. 4. The Filler arc you have probably been told is REALLY good is called G-8 you dont have to worry about that for a good while now (at least a few months). East Blue: 1-53 54 (21:00-End) 55 (2:55-8:00) 61 (13:25-End) ???????: 62-130 There are 4 filler episodes in this grouping that i left in due to them just giving us more character moments that i liked. These episodes are: 98, 99 102, and all but the last 5 mins of 101 (the last 5 mins of 101 has a VERY important moment in it that cannot be skipped by any means). ???????: 131-135 (This group of episodes are all filler but i personally enjoy them and recommend them especially due to the crew interactions that happen within them). 144-195 ???????: 196-206 ???????: This arc is a mess and the most egregious of the "mixed cannon episodes" for the rest of the show That said it's a pretty fun time regardless so i would say just to watch it all but ill leave that decisions to you. 207-212 217-219 ???????: 226 (19:20-End) 227-263 ???????: 264-278 284-290 293-302 304-316 (I Strongly recommend episodes 317. 318. and 319. especially 318 and 319). 320-325 ???????: 337-381 ???????: 385-405 ???????: 408-425 430-456 ???????: 459-491 ???????: 493-516 That should last for a long while. and i am confident on these numbers here.

I really love the line that Yasopp tells Daddy in the flashback. "You navy men have hang us hang us when you capture us, but we pirates are FREE to let you live or die as we see fit." (paraphrased). Really helps to call back to the type of pirate that represents Shanks crew, and by extension Luffy's definition of a pirate. Also excited for the next vid, it should be a hoot considering the character(s) they teased at the end there.

Yeah Smoker hot boxed that room. Also i checked the wiki and Smoker is 34 (not a spoiler as it is never stated in the show). Also the "My pants ate your ice cream" is the cutest darn thing ever. One neat thing about the size of different characters in One Piece. Oda really likes to play with perspective, especially with the antagonists. He also is a bit of a caricature artist, he exaggerates character's proportions to kind of show you their personality with their looks. Also Luffy is 5'7". So for paying attention to background details. You don't technically ever have to pay attention to them, but if you do pay attention to them you will find more information about the world and the characters. This particular scene is a filler scene, so none of the posters in this scene mean anything as they are all non-cannon, but there are plenty of scenes with little bits of "hidden" information in the background that you can spot (aside from PandaMan) if you chose to pause and look for them. The main reason to do this is for theory crafting, but the small details also exist as a way for you to see what Oda had already been setting up hundreds of episodes prior, like a little trail of clues that dont make sense on their own, but all come together at a later point. Also not to be a downer, but Luffy does indeed drink alcohol, but he does not go out of his way to drink it. He will just drink whatever the rest of the crew is having. As a matter of point for this, when Usopp joined the crew and they got the Going Merry, they whole crew did a toast, that toast was with alcohol. Great Vid, Cute Pupper, Good Vibes.

I might have mentioned it last video, but this is NOT filler. This is all cannon material that played out in the cover stories of the manga. Everything that happened in these cover stories are cannon and actually happened in the world of One Piece. Hunger and food work with Buggy the same way it works with Nami or Usopp or you or me. He gets hungry and needs to eat, he puts the food in his mouth and it goes down into his stomach. His DF (and all devil fruits for that matter) are basically magic, so the food goes to where it would normally. It's not often that we get to flashily experience the story from THE FUTURE PIRATE KING'S perspective! The great Captain Buggy the Clown! :3

That's a cute bag. I like the minimal design for the Strawhat logo. Yeah this first opening is okay to watch, since you have recently seen the Live Action. That said, almost every opening after this one will have spoilers. ESPECIALLY the next opening. Small Note: The part of this episode where Fullbody comes across the Strawhats on the ocean is filler. None of what happened there is cannon, and a detail from that filler scene may confuse you later when it is seemingly contradicted. In my mind, there is zero reason to change the actress or the way the actress looks in the Live Action. The reason the character slims down in the anime is literally just a dumb gag played for laughs, her personality shines through the dumb joke regardless, but that is more a testament to her character rather than the gag of her "change". They can keep her Live Action character looking the exact same without any significant change to the story or her character as a whole. You probably already know this (since you most likely already watched them) but the next 2 episodes are cover stories that were being told over the course of the East Blue saga. The material is cannon to the story.

I think Luffy's absurd strength and just being a force of nature in the East Blue is something that i didn't realized i missed as much in the Live Action until recently. Now obviously the Live Action just couldn't do it for budget and actor safety reasons. But in the source material Luffy is just a force of nature that rolls in and affects the story, forcing the story to react to him. Whereas due to the restraints of money, time and safety, the live action had to write Luffy as more of the underdog that fights his way through with pure willpower and the aid of the people he has attracted to his side. Which is not a bad way to write a story, just a different way. This is honestly a testament to how well the Live Action writing team did with adapting One Piece to live action. As the anime community considered One Piece to be way too over the top and wild to be brought to a live action format with any amount of authenticity. But the live action OP team really showed that they could bring the world more down to earth without having to sacrifice the themes that really make One Piece what it is. Next episode is great, the post arc parties are Oda's favorite scenes to draw and it really shows. They are almost always some of the best episodes every arc. Great video, i appreciate taking the extra time to add the subtitles for when you had to mute for copyright!

First of all, great video and as always, cute pupper! Felt the need to edit in this little blurb for clarity: What im saying below is not intended to be in critique of you or anyone's interpretation of the show, people like what they like and don't like what they don't. I was writing this with the intent of it just being me discussing my view on the discussion points that i hear in the video. I unfortunately am not good at properly articulating my thoughts, so i wanted to add this blurb in order to set the tone in which i was actually thinking when writing the comment, more as talking about my views, than as a critique. As to the talk about "If Luffy didn't get stuck he would be beating up Arlong right now." In universe that sentiment makes sense, but we are consuming a story that is being written. Luffy being stuck does not change anything in the sense of WHEN Arlong gets beat up. The reason Luffy is stuck is so that the Manga/Anime can focus on the other members of the Crew without having to Show the Luffy/Arlong fight in between and have it somehow moving at a snails pace, or have Luffy and Arlong just stand around looking at each other while the others fight. No matter what happens to Luffy we are going to get his fight with Arlong after the other crew members get some time to shine (which a lot of times i enjoy more than Luffy's fights), so i never really put any stock into "well if he wasn't stuck then this or that would happen right now and i want it now!", because if he doesn't get stuck then something else will HAVE to happen so that we can give the appropriate screen time to the other members of the crew. For instance, in Syrup village during the Black Cat's attack on the slope, Luffy and Zoro are delayed to allow Usopp to have a fantastic character moment when he gets to show how insanely brave he is, he is so scared that he can't physically stop his legs from shaking and he knows he stands NO chance against these pirates, but he still stands at the top of that slope and does everything he can to stop them, even down to just holding the foot of one pirate in hopes to delay him, then the cavalry arrives. That moment not only doesn't happen, but the writing opportunity missed would make that arc even less than it already is (one of the weakest arcs in the whole 1100 episodes as is). Basically, this show is not the Luffy show. He is the main character, 99% of people love him to death, he is a good sweet baby boy, But One Piece is about more than just Luffy, it's about the whole crew and the world that they interact with while trying to achieve their dreams together. Every character on the crew is just as important as any other, and part of that means that in the story we will take the time to give them their moments to shine. Also the timing of that Usopp/Choo moment was hilarious, "Usopp is so useless, and he immediately is like, "what she say? hold my beer." Apologies for the long run-on sentences, i just kind of word vomit these while watching then try to clean it up when the video is over. Much love excited for the next few videos.
