How China leaped 15 years ahead of the world in nuclear power: the same way as in everything else
China is now without peer in the nuclear power generation industry, after employing a whole-of-government strategy, vast financing at low cost, supply chain dominance, and coordination of university research.
This from a comprehensive analysis of China's rise in nuclear power, from a non-entity just 30 years ago to the undisputed world leader, and now about 15 years ahead of the United States and Europe.
The same strategies and efforts that China used to dominate nuclear power is identical to the ones used in dozens of other industries, and with the same results.

Hypersonic missiles and glide-capable munitions are the future of warfare. China's already there.

Hypersonic weapons travel at five times the speed of sound. Modern militaries are racing to develop and deploy these munitions, because they will so decisively shift power projection. According to Top Secret documents that were leaked on Discord last year, China has already successfully tested and deployed these weapons, and are adapting them for use against both land-based and naval assets, wh...

Are you sure that China can innovate? Are you really sure? China probably stole the USA's hypersonic missile technology and refined them. China cheated. China cheated the USA. China is a copycat, and everybody knows that. Well, you know what, the reality is that it doesn't matter what China has because we all know that China is really no threat to anyone militarily because China has a strict no interference in other country's internal affair, and China has never invaded anyone. The world knows that the only thing that it is afraid of with China is losing its pride when losing to China economically. We all know that China is all about win-win cooperation and collaboration and China would grab all of the glory for leading the world towards peace, harmony, and prosperity, and that would totally humble our pride. China would not only prevent the USA from dominating the world, but would also prevent the USA from enslaving the world, if the world no longer need, want, or believe in the USA's idea of championing democracy, freedom, and justice as the USA demonizes, invades, pillages, massacres, and destroy others. But China is not like the USA, so it doesn't matter if China is leading the world technologically, militarily, economically, as a world leader, etc., because China is not a threat to anyone, and on the contrary, China would only do the world good if it was leading the world. But all is not lost because for once, we can sit back, relax, have a cold one, and finally enjoy peace. Cheers!

I have argued with countless people over the past 6-7 years in the comments sections of the NY Times, Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times and in person regarding the ability of the Chinese people to invent and innovate. Whenever I point out examples of China leapfrogging the US (e.g. 5G and 6G telecommunications; pharmaceuticals; high-tech manufacturing; high speed passenger rail transport ; landing a spacecraft on the dark side of the moon); I am roundly denounced as a China stooge by a chorus of incredulous Polyannas who insist that these feats were accomplished with technology copied from the US. China has built >25,000 miles of high speed passenger rail in less than 20 years. The US is struggling to build 165 miles of real high speed rail between Merced and Bakersfield CA. It was too difficult to build the line between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The Acela is NOT high speed rail. Intel and AMD cannot compete with TSMC of Taiwan in microchip manufacturing. Boeing is so obsessed with cost cutting to ensure profitability that its aircraft periodically experience catastrophic failures (737Max crashes; cabin doors falling off in flight). There are zero US companies competing with China in 5G and 6G. China has bypassed US restrictions on EUV photolithography (cutting edge microchip manufacturing) by developing double and quad printing DUV photolithography. And the airheads who represent themselves as American intellectuals deny all of this. What we have here is an open and shut case of Aesop’s tortoise defeating the overconfident hare.

However, U.S. didn't prioritize its development until more recently. ..anyway, U.S. is making significant progress on hypersonic cruise missiles aka scramjet, which are more complex and lethal than glide vehicles. Both China and U.S. havent possess scramjet in operational service yet, but the U.S. is considerably ahead in terms of development.
