what maintenance do you do and how often? I just purchased a used 2020 BMW 330i xDrive with 61k miles. It is an awesome car but I want to make sure I keep good care of it with minimal repairs
I sold my BMW to my son after 60K miles. Unfortunately, I’m not exactly sure about all of the maintenance. I followed what the dealership recommended. I had spark plugs replaced, and I had brake fluid replaced. I ended up needing front and rear brakes, including rotors, and, of course oil change every 10k miles. Fairly expensive to maintain. I don’t usually agree on maintenance packages, but moving forward, my wife and I have purchased a maintenance package on our other BMW.
Im about to pull the trigger on this same model and colour...one question does the steering have power tilt option? I didnt see it on the one i was looking at
I may do that. I’ve had others ask the same thing. These are the costs I can think of so far. Rear brakes $900 (40k miles), front brakes $1000 (50k), spark plugs $300 (60k), oil & filter change every 10k $220, cabin air filter and engine air filter $150, brake flush $200. I pay ~$55 monthly for insurance through State Farm. I average 27mpg in town and up to 39mpg on the road and I drive in Sport Mode 100% of the time.
I’m approaching 30k Miles. Have you done any kind of flushes around this mileage? I’m not sure if I should do coolant flush. I’ve already done brake flush/ replace cabin filter
The only flush that I have done is the brake flush. I have not seen the coolant flush in my maintenance requirements or recommendations. I am currently at about 63k miles. The only other maintenance that I’ve had done besides a brake flush is the engine and cabin filters, spark plugs, and, of course, oil & filter changes. Fun car to drive. I drive in “sport individual mode” (With transmission setting at comfort) 100% of the time.
@@Drew25441 spark plugs were at 60K and was about $300. I did my rear brakes closer to 40k and my front brakes closer to 50k They require pads and rotors to be replaced with this performance style brakes. I tried to get it cheaper at another place and I did my rear at a place other than the dealership. I ultimately found that the dealership was actually pretty fairly priced and did my front brakes with them even though that seems expensive in comparison to a normal brake job with my previous cars. Both places used OEM parts.
I'm thinking of buying the 330e version. Your video was extremely helpful in understanding some basics for the car and getting a feel from an actual owner. Thanks!
do you feel like this car is unreliable or have you had no issues with it. I’m looking at one to purchase soon and just wanted to know before i make a final decision.

I would. I have 60,000 miles on my car and I love it. I am not exactly sure on pricing but that sounds like a good price. I use my vehicle to drive in the snow with snow tires and it drives awesome. And of course is lots of fun to drive on regular roads.
I have almost 54k miles on it now. Needs rear brakes replaced. Only mechanical thing that needed repair was the recall on the grill vents/flaps. I drive it is Sport Mode 100% of the time. I live in the desert and have temps of over 100° (106° today). I put snow tires on in the winter and take it up skiing. Only real complaint is how expensive it is to service it.

Unfortunately I haven’t driven the Mercedes so I couldn’t compare. If I buy BMW again I will pay for the maintenance package up front because all of the maintenance is quite expensive.

Maintenance is covered by BMW for the first three years 36,000 miles. My first oil change at 40,000 miles cost $170. They also wanted to charge $175 for engine air filter and cabin air filter each. Then they wanted to charge $200 for a “vehicle inspection.” That’s when they hook up the computer and do a “wellness check” is similar to “when you go to see the doctor.” I didn’t buy anything other than the oil change I’m gonna do a little bit of research. Next time I buy a BMW I’m going to pre buy maintenance so I don’t have to worry about the costs as they come. I love my car. So the only thing I regret is not purchasing the maintenance package up front.

Thanks for the in depth review. How has the leather held up? The Vernasca leather in relatively new so I'm curious about the durability. Also, has the vehicle developed any creeks and rattles?
The Vernasca leather has held up really well. My wife has a one year older BMW with the fake leather that already has cracks in it. I have had some rattles on the speaker cover on the dash. The other thing that’s annoying is one of the speakers is blown already in the right door. Outside of that I love it.
I agree. I had envisioned sharing better information but when I put it together I just covered mostly design like you said. Nothing really changed. Just wanted to share little things I noticed and how I feel after one year.
Well Done !! About to buy my 330i xDrive 2021....Loved the review....Was undecided but you gave me the push. How is the car after two years of ownership ?

This review and your other one are absolutely awesome. I watched many reviews, and yours is the most unbiased, honest, and authentic. I am sure that because of you, some people who were on the fence are buying the car. Quick question: I just bought one of these. Really like everything about it, except I feel like when in Comfort mode there is a sort of delay, or like a hesitation when starting at a stand still. It's hard to describe, but it's there. Maybe I'm just not used to it. Is that delay sensation something you or your viewers have experienced?
I know exactly what you are feeling. This is the main reason why I do not drive it in comfort mode. The other reason is because I can’t hear the engine noise, which is a little ironic because I’m not a big engine noise guy. I also just like how it accelerates in sport mode and I like how it doesn’t feel like it’s “lagging” trying to get the most fuel economy possible like it does in comfort mode. Also when it’s in comfort mode and I try and pull out in front of traffic there is the delay or hesitation that you talked about and I do not like that. I have learned to drive the whole time in sport mode. I get good fuel economy because I normally use the adaptive cruise control while driving in town and that gives me the best fuel consumption I think.
@@ggcools Thank you so much Gregory for this information! I noticed exactly what you said in that in Sport mode the lagging is not there.
