I'm finally so frustrated I had to look to see if others were having this problem. I've sent it back a year or 2 ago and it's getting worse over time. Happened 4 times in one gig the other night. Most embarrassing thing ever. From what I'm reading no one has found a remedy and Pioneer sure doesn't seem to care. I do not want to buy another controller, but I am at a loss right now.

Is the fix to get rid of the controller? 😂 Had this issue last night at an event changed laptops still the same. So just need to keep a phone or router away ? And switch off wifi on the laptops ?

I've had the same problem with my SX3. It happened this week 4x at a gig. It did the beep, then went silent, a few other times, it made a loud pop noise and then went silent again. I was running the RCA outs to 1/4" into the speakers, and using audio from my laptop as well as through Serato DJ Pro. I turned it off, unplugged the power supply and plugged it all back in, and switched my output from Stereo to mono, and after that i didn't have the problem again. I have had this issue before at gigs once or twice, but I thought it was an isolated incident. It looks like a LOT of others have had this problem! Someone needs to tag Pioneer in this thread and get it fixed!!! I've sent mine back to pioneer for the repair re:the black dot issue, they sent it back and said it was fixed but I've had many issues after that. For something so expensive Pioneer needs to support their products better!!!

Can anyone confirm that this is JUST an SX3 issue? Has anyone had this happen with the SRT1000 or SX2? I'm happy to get a new controller if I KNOW this solves the problem. How insane is this that it's caused by a cell phone!!???

Thanks for posting this! My SX3, has the black dot and has been okay for 3 years, until the controller started crashing. It makes a big boom and music stops playing almost like something is shorting. It restarts and then connects again. happened to me 3 times at gigs, and i've been playing with a REV1. Waiting for an XDJ-RX3. I'm ready to throw this thing. Also, i'm rocking a 2018 15' MBP, and when i connect it to the sx3, it sometimes crashes (Serato). That laptop never crashed on me. Something is wrong here.

Olá eu sou brasileiro, Tenho uma SX3 eu procurava um video desse a meses.... eu achei que eu estava ficando louco, isso me aconteceu varias vezes.... mas eu descobri o problema, CABO USB comprei um cabo USB da UDG com filtro nas duas pontas e nunca mais tive esse problema, essa controladora tambem não convém tocar com aparelho celulares próximo a ela. outra dica é, vai até o gerenciador de dispositivo do windows na parte dos USB, desativa a função do windows, desligar a porta USB pra economizar energia. Ela é muito sensivel com interferencias externas, eu toco a minha dentro do (case) afim de dar uma isolada melhor externamente. desde então nunca mais tive mais esse problema, depois que troquei cabo USB pelo cabo USB UDG com filtro nas duas pontas.

I had the same problem a couple of years ago & sent the unit back to Pioneer who did the repair (I had no black dot). It has been great since until last week when I was in a packed night club and the thing kept dropping audio, LEDs still moving etc and laptop still playing tracks. After 30 mins of this happening I had to give up, 1st time in 30 years of DJing that I've not completed a set. I've tried to recreate the fault at home but unable to do so after playing for 6 hours and 4 hours straight. Am extremely nervous about using the SX3 this week.

I contacted the pioneer service center in my city. they explained to me that the problem was solved by intervening on feeding. he did not want to tell me if it is the power supply that goes to the electric current, or the power supply card that is inside the motherboard. At this point it would be opportune to test the sx3 with a power supply of the sx2, if the problem persists then the problem is the power supply board inside the sx3. Naturally, it must be returned to the pioneer assistance center demanding an intervention under the guarantee even if the guarantee has expired. hope i was helpful.

Got same issue using SX3 with Mixxx. So it's not the issue of the software. It easily can be reproduced if you red-line 2 tracks and open both faders (you may also apply filter with resonance to increase volume even more). Seems it's a reaction of DAC on too high levels.

can you please tell us how to avoid that repeating issue and what cause the error.?

I was so excited when my SX3 arrived, but I'm about to throw it in the sea. I have not had a set where there has not been an issue. I have experienced this BEEP and then turning off once at a wedding, but most of the time I am having general audio issues. They happen seemingly randomly. Like a slight distortion or popping for a second or two. I have also had a fuzzy sound coming through the headphones on more than one occasion. I have a DELL I7 16Gb, have done a clean install, increased the buffer size on the ASIO driver, reduced SERATO screen refreshes, closed all background tasks and processes, and SERATO is showing no USB dropouts. I have tried both A and B USB ports on the controller. I have tried disabling vinyl and pitch lock. It happens also with no laptop connected and just RCA input to a line. Definitely a problem with the controller, absolute piece of rubbish. I have the black dot on the barcode... Any tips from anyone?

I just picked up a used SX3 from Guitar Center & I’m having the same audio issues. I’m considering taking it back!

I have an SX3 with an I3 processor running win 7. The audio glitches were getting worse and worse. I tried adding fer rite cores around the power supply but that didn't solve it. Finally, I upgraded to an I7, Win 10 which also gave me the ability to dl the new 1.01 pioneer driver and latest serato software. After 1 full gig this weekend, there are no glitches or shutdowns. Previously, I had a shutdown issue but I realized my USB ports were loose. t I do keep my phone away from the controller now thanks to your advice. Thank you for this video.

Any word from Pioneer on this? Or workarounds in the meantime? Mines just started doing this. Thankfully not on this level. But it's still annoying and unacceptable

Happened to me also. Makes you look a right dickhead. I spend thousands buying the correct gear and you don’t expect this. SX1 was a disaster. SX2 was a dream. SX3 was great until now. New mixer tomorrow. What is annoying is it happened two weeks ago and was certain it was my MacBook so bought a new one costing 3k. Same shit tonight so I know it’s the mixer especially as it’s the same issue as in the video. I switched it into jack manual mode and did the rest of the night without the sound card. It did help as it only did it once after that. I also loaded each song half way though the track to give it time to render as I wasn’t sure it wasn’t a software issue or laptop issue. But certainly is the mixer now you guys have the same issue

I preordered mine when they first came out, yes it had the black dot. I sent it back to Pioneer and got it back with the black dot and has never worked properly. So I now have had a $1000 paper weight. Thanks for the video now I know I'm not crazy!!!!!

Ahoj Denisi, v první řadě ti chci poděkovat za skvělé video. A ve druhé řadě máš mé uznání za to, jak tady některým nechápavcům dokážeš trpělivě odpovídat stále dokola :-) Ale k věci. Bohužel patřím také k majitelům SX3... Zakoupil jsem ho 6/2020 a stejné problémy, které prezentuješ na videu se objevily v podstatě hned u prvního použití. Ze začátku jsem se domníval, že chybu dělám někde já - že nemám pořádně připojené konektory, že songy pouštím moc hlasitě do špiček a pak to padá apod. Postupem času jsem ale přesvědčený, že problém je přímo v SX3. Postupem času jsem vyloučil všechny mé milné domněnky - že je chyba v notebooku (vyměnil jsem ho), že je chyba v XLR kabelech mezi SX3 a reproboxy (vyměnil jsem je), že výpadky způsobuje neuzemněný kontrolér (uzemnil jsem ho), několikrát jsem také přeinstaloval ovladače SX3. Nic nepomohlo. Ještě dodám, že používám software VirtualDJ. Zajímavé je, že problém nastane nejdříve po dvou hodinách provozu. Ale za to potom je to intenzivní. Nikomu bych nepřál, jak je flustrující, když se to stane na nějaké důležité oslavě. Mně se to přihodilo na svatbě asi 10 minut před novomanželským tancem... to bylo peklo!!! V tuto chvíli mám dvě teorie, proč k problému dochází. 1) Nějakým způsobem error spustí mobilní telefon. Ale pozor, ty popisuješ, že je na vině hotspot. Já si to posledně hodně hlídal. Hotspot jsem vůbec nezapínal, vypnutou jsem měl i wifi a bluetooth. Stejně se to stalo. Snad jedině ta vzdálenost, kterou jsi tu 100x zmiňoval, tu jsem nezkoumal (většinou mám mobil v kapse, tj. cca 0,5m od kontroléru). 2) Nebo dostane kontrolér/jeho adaptér nějakou falešnou frekvenci ze sítě 230V. Jak je známo, po el. síti se dnes dá posílat ethernet apod., případně může být v síti nějaké frekvenční rušení od jiného spotřebiče na stejné fázi... no jen takové mé dvě teorie, jak jsem psal. Tak jako tak musím říct, že Pioneer mě velice zklamal. Od takového giganta bych očekával profesionálnější zacházení se zákazníkem než takové, o kterém se tu dočítám. Jo a aby toho nebylo málo, tak SX3 nemá pouze tento problém, ale také problém s připojenými mikrofony. Totiž tento kontrolér občas používám i k nazvučení mluveného slova (např. pořad Na stojáka) a je velice obtížné mikrofony nastavit tak, aby při hlasitějším projevu řečníka nelezl ven přebuzený zvuk. Tento defekt na různých Pioneer fórech také reklamoval nejeden uživatel, ale odpovědí jim bylo, aby si zkorigovali hlasitost signálu lezoucí z mikrofonu, případně poladili softwarový kompresor jednotlivých mikrofonních vstupů... ale to prostě nechceš, koupit si profi mašinu a ještě to zdlouhavě ladit a doufat, že to dobře dopadne! Kdyby jsi přišel na něco nového, tak budu rád, když se podělíš ;-)
