I love this movie so much but I gotta say my least favorite part is Ken, he's basically the main antagonist to the whole movie just because barbie didn't like him like that, I don't like him lol

From what I’ve Personally noticed there’s two places you can take a story in film, (well hold on kinda hear me out) Something like game of thrones might be mainly swept by it’s story or ability to teach but also has elements of color because to a degree it’s not about the story it’s about fantasy. It’s about falling into an imaginary world for a minute. And that’s what defines Disney. And that’s what Disney forgot here. If your gonna sell a fantasy, make it a fantasy. I think that’s why some indie films seems so overly artistic. Because they want you to watch anyways when the overall message gets boring at points. ANYWAYS All this to say your story better be realllll strong if you wanna make your princess movie grey themed

I have not seen Wish. I really don't know anything about it. However, I did think Tangled was an excellent movie. Maybe not the best ever made, but there were so many things that it did right. I agree that Flynn was probably the best romantic lead in any of the movies. He came across as a cad, but it turned out he was just a little boy playing at being one. No Prince Charming to ride and fight the evil witch, he was did end up trying to rescue her, but instead she rescued him.

Where the heck is Doja Cat tho? I mean I know she is arguably a hip hop artist/rapper but I think many of her top songs crossover into pop and her impact on pop culture and the music industry has been monumental despite controversy. Personally, I'd categorize her as a performer/trendsetter category as well, although recently I think she is more on the visionary side ah la Paint the Town Red.

Somehow her music videos and styles just remind me of Ava Max. Speaking of which I don't get why Ava is so underrated in US.

Sabrina's aesthetic seems to be "hyper-sexualized minor" in the same way people will dress up as "s*xy school girls" ...i can't be the only one who thinks it's weird. 🤷‍♀️

I watched it once and one thing I remember now about Cinderella movie is that it has a good intrigue. Though we all know the Cinderella story, obviously, this movie added so much to the plot that I never knew what to expect in the next scene. So it kept me watching till the very end. I can't retell you the plot because it was complicated and intriguing... and a lot like life-like. It was believeable.

*THIS VIDEO IS PERFECTION.* 🤩 You said basically everything I think about this show and these characters and pointed out several problems a lot of other people either missed or _dismissed._ But,unlike you,I *do* want to watch the 2nd season of"Wednesday". Also,I got a little fond of the Wednesday x Tyler ship(even if Twitter spoiled to me that Tyler was the monster before I could watch ep 1x02!😖💢)and I liked Wednesday with him more than with Xavier,but probably the main reason was that I find Tyler slightly more attractive than Xavier.

Tangled is literally one of my all time favorite movies. From Rapunzel to Flynn to the scenery, it's just so beautiful and heartwarming. I'm so glad I haven't wasted time watching Wish when I could just go re-watch Tangled again😂

Tangled is my favourite Disney 3d Princess movie 100000% I am also her and wish I had my own Flynn… 🫠 I rewatch it on a regular basis and always have the music in my head Couldn’t agree more with everything you said, just wish they went with some of the concept art and turning the star into a love interest! It’s been said before and I will say it again… we were ROBBED Thank you for conveying my feelings with this movie.. Watching Wish felt.. empty. I felt like there was no purpose to the whole movie at all. I felt like they were to focused on trying to make it "the one hundredth year" movie rather than just trying to make it *good* For me, Wish sucked.

Great video! My immidiate thought about "Wish" when I saw the trailers was that the compositions felt extremely boring. Like, most of the shots feel like they just include a character awkwardly standing in a medium shot, and just... there's nothing around them. The background is just forgettable, grey noise. I think they tried to recreate the feel of old-school 2D animation, where the backgrounds were watercolor and the characters were celluloid, so the moving parts really popped. It feels like the creators of "Wish" dulled down and pulled back the backgrounds, to make them feel disconnected from the foregrounds, but that just makes every composition empty as heck. In old Disney cartoons, background elements (trees, mountains, buildings, people etc) combined to create interesting shapes and staging for every shot. Here, it's just a character standing in front of a very distant, boring background. You said that "Wish" feels a lot like current Disney and it's true: The whole movie feels like it was shot on green screen! Like their live-action remakes or Disney+ series, this movie feels like it was shot in the Volume, a series of grey, medium shots, were a couple of characters stand around in front of a distant background, interacting with nothing.

This movie just feels devoid of contrast in every sense of the word. Color, lighting, plot, good vs evil, meaning behind songs, personalities. I think that's why it feels AI - AI isn't necessarily bad at writing things but the things it makes are so clearly not "thought out".

How can one of the most lauded animation studios make a freaking film with FLAT LIGHTING. The amazing gift of watercolour is contrast! You can see it in the concept art! But they just didn't add any of the dramatic lighting. For shame

Honestly just keeping a few scrapped elements could have made this way better. The village being a place where people are hiding to keep their wishes!? That's one i didn't hear before, but that would fix major story problems

In all the talk of how badly Ken is treated, I never hear anyone point out that Barbieland is basically a five-to-nine year old girl's fantasy. But definitely nobody would expect such a child to have any knowledge or interest in boys or romance or physical love beyond the parody that children know, which is that men are around (but not centered in a girl's world) and boys are kind of yucky, and girls have boyfriends but they don't really know why. It's not a value judgement against men, or a statement of where they belong. It's meant to be childish. Giving Kens a voice at all is a rebellion of us in the real world feeling it's unfair for men to not have representation. But somewhere in the five-to-nine year old boys fantasy land there certainly are no girls or female representation. It's all matchbox cars and G.I. Joes. That's why this movie is so silly. (Totally fun! But meant to be silly too.) Because no little boy OR girl would want to play with the Kens in Barbieland. They're just not the point.

The first time I saw the characters of Wish videos I litteraly reckon these weird Barbie movies.

I thought I knew everything about these books, and you still gave me new insights! Thank you so much. It's the best analysis I've ever seen! I do hope for a Part Two, because there is still so much to unpack about deeper details, like Katniss' Appalachian accent, the Capitol fashions being exaggerated for the sake of American audiences, and Peeta's devotion to Katniss being so much a part of who he is, that he cannot leave her even after being hijacked, even when she is catatonic. And how disdainful Katniss feels not only at the Capitol for their shallowness, but also for other districts who name their children ridiculous things like "Glimmer". And the prep team who seem so self-centered that even deaths in the Arena become all about how THEY felt seeing it while getting their eyebrows waxed. And yet her unique ability to empathize even with these people she despises, realizing that had her own life been different she may have become just like them. And how much like her mother she was in her grief, though she never admitted to being anything like her mother in any way. And why the heck were we never given the names of Katniss' parents? (Which I think was because we're supposed to think of ourselves as Katniss, and to us our own parents have no names beyond "Mom" and "Dad".) And how children were sent to the Reaping in their best clothes "to look good for the Capitol", but really to look their best if that's their funeral.

Something that I was so disappointed by in this adaptation coming from the musical was how they treated my favourite song, Apex Predator. This was originally a duet / back and forth between Cady and Janice, where Cady sees Regina as this imposing force that gets what she wants, and Janice is trying to talk her down because she got discarded by Regina in the past (as a friend). Like, I get that you wanted to take songs away from Cady (poor girl, why was she headlining a musical?!), but the dynamic here was so important and also good!

I loved the movie ❤I bought it on DVD including all of the other live actions. Ariel is my childhood character. Halle’s Ariel gave me all of the heartwarming emotions when I watched in theaters for the first time. ❤

It isn't even impossible to create something that looks like a painting but is 3D, just look at Arcane. I actually had more examples in mind but i forgor. But yeah the most notable one is Arcane in my opinion. EDIT: Spiderverse. I was thinking of Spiderverse. Especially Gwen's world is designed to look like watercolours.

The way they ruined an amazing and beatiful classic by actually adding a lot of nonesense and just incoherent stuff that cannot and wont happen in real life, for me the worst thing of all was ariels saving eric from ursula like when or how did she managed to be this badass taking control of the ship, a mermaid that knows nothing nor has experience at sailing while eric being born in a family of Mariners with innate skills for sailing, being one himself great at what he does of course, with actual knowledge about sailing, years of experience and most Likely one or too degrees, graduated with honors besides having all of his documents in check, owns a ship himself yet couldnt do the nothing at all not even the sailing part😅 so ariel (the mermaid) had to do it herself 😅😂 meanwhile eric be thinking all those years at sailing college didnt prepare him for this😂❤ ( part of your World reprise starts playing in the background) they get married, END🎉.❤

I watched it last night, I didn't feel too bothered with the animation style, it was whatever. But god it was so bad, the bad was the music...who the fuck wrote these songs and thought yeah, these are good. No one is going to ever sing these crap songs. Remember the disney sing along videos disney would make? Imagine they trying to make one with these songs. Holy shit
