see that bloke in glasses with his ugly bird --0:49?.....probably taking the piss as it was not third rate , corrupt modern crap
The song is "Tennessee Woman", which can be found on the "Coming In Person" (1st) album from the Planet Rockers.
A very class act :)
great...😎👍👍👍
where is this from????? any idea?
Ronnie Hawkins Cuz.
He's playin a Gibson Jr???? Well I know he's not 'playin' but he's aping it... that's James Burton I hear who played on the session.
Funny to think how he was dancing by lifting and shaking his leg was considered provocative ha ha. But the world was a much better place in those days not that I know as I'm 45 but it sure was way better in the 80s and 90s then now.
The great James Burton and his famous guitar the Fender Telecaster made the iconic riff on this song.
Just came about this doing a UK Chart research and loved the video with good music, fashion and dancing but I often read on the net that Rockabilly had give way to the Psychobilly scene in the 80's yet this tune was 1982 and The Jets were on Top of The Pops in 1982 as well as Showaddywaddy...so can any one give me any more info as I was to young back then and was involved in the Sv=cooter Scene in the laye 80s ?
I was a fan back in early eighties. Went to all clubs Manchester . This kind of Bill Haley swing music was popular but not rockabilly. Bands like Restless, Deltas, blue cats etc were more rockabilly. Meteors were popular too but not really played in rock n roll clubs apart from 'voodoo rhythm ' a few guys tried to bop to. Hope that answers your question.
@@leeetchells609 @leeetchells609 What years and what clubs were about in Manchester and what tyoe of tribes did you get...London gets all the attention but love to know more about Manchester between 1977-1986
these guys looked super cool!
Used to love going to see these guys ...Chatham town Hall gigs were the best....
Brill band bring em back
so stinky but what an important part of my teens....see these guys soooo many times in the early days....
Saw them live at The Royalty ballroom back in the early 80’s at one of the bank holiday all day events! They certainly stole the show.
Saw them for the first time at Feltham football club whe I was about 14. Feltham Friday night Rock n roll nights, brilliant t nights.
One of the greatest 50s rockers!
Wow. Thanks for uploading. This is great.
Just discovered this song and its great
Adoro o estilo do Eddie Cochran!
Me cai pero a todo dar! Edamas lleva mi nombre😁💕💕💕🔥🔥🔥🔥🙏🏽
Dejalo a john fogerty que lo ara mejor men
Dale Hawkins only wrote the lyrics to this. The classic riff and the rest of the music was written by a then 15 year old James Burton at the recording session but Burton was not credited as the writer of the music.
Yep! Glad you said it because O was gonna.
Bought this when it came out. Great track. unfortunately never saw them live.
This was back when every singer had to have his own signature leg movement.
The original and best!
Very rare
Hilarious play back
Dale Hawkins and his cousin Ronnie Hawkins were Rockabilly royalty. 🎶🎸😎👍
Ronnie infected Canada with this Rockabilly sound 😎
@@SPINNINGMYWHEELS777 infected in the best way ‘cause Canada needs it! Canada sucks!
yes i remember this group, they were on top of the pops with a couple of songs, the real rockabillies did not like 80s rockabilly groups, it was called plastic rockabilly and the people who liked it were called plastics. Back then late 70s and early 80s the rockabilly clubs would only play 50s rockabilly so there was a divide between the jets, straycats, shakin stevens ect, and the johnny burnette , lew williams, mac curtis fans, seems childish now but to be labeled as a plastic was the biggest insult a so called rockabilly could get.
Fuck Yeah 👍👍👍
Sooo good this Susie Q. I only had heard the amazing CCR version. I've seen this sometime ago... but I just wanted to thank you for posting this here. What a rock'n roll gem.☆
very hard to find original Rockabilly album from 1957 :)
Best perfomance
I was 12 when I heard this. Couldn't sit still.
My band King Memphis backed/toured with Ronnie Dawson. He said “the folks overseas were not even ready for The Planet Rockers.”
Yeah.....boomers' time !!!!!
Sounds so fine!!!
Bought the CD called epic rock and roll its awesome

Yeaaaaah!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Yes sireeee, at last we can all enjoy .
no one on american band stand ever performed live. american band stand would play the record and the recoding artist moved ther elips to there song and just went through the motion of playing a guitar or some other instrument. thats why jj cale would never per form on american band stand when he was invited to appear on bandstand. he told the people in charge thait if he couldn't perform live with is band. they could go where the sun don't shine.
🕵🏼♀️🙂👍🏿
LIVE is my thing. Unfortunately for early rock n roll most stuff like this was lip-synced. Great song I grew up dancing to. Only CCR does it justice. This is Dale Hawkins own song, and the remastered studio version is amazing. It is the gold standard of the song. 1957.
I miss Ronnies shows.
