      @jc_newton Před 4 dny

      I don't do much to my eyebrows other that occasionally pluck a stray hair, and I had them relatively tidy before the procedure. I wouldn't think that something like waxing would be advisable until the stitches are out and your doctor says you can wear makeup, but I don't know for sure. Ask your doctor what they recommend on this one!

    Your surgeon did a great job. Who did it? I had my upper lids done for medical reasons by an ophthalmologist/plastic surgeon. I am not lucky with surgery. She didn't take into account that not only do I have natural hooded eyes but also chronic blepharitis. It's hard for me to apply eye makeup, especially eye liner. Thank you for responding to my previous question, but I have a follow-up. You said you met with 4 doctors. Did they all recommend the same approach/procedure? I have met with a few doctors and one recommends the skin pinch and the other recommends using the Erbium YAG laser to tighten the under eye skin and smooth wrinkles. I’m having a hard time deciding which is the best approach. I’m only doing a lower bleph.

    • @jc_newton
      @jc_newton Před 11 dny

      They didn't all recommend the same approach. Some recommended the skin pinch and others the laser (and one said both!). The Erbium YAG laser creates teeny holes in the skin so your body will generate more collagen (which plumps up the skin so wrinkles are so apparent) -- but it doesn't remove sagging skin, it only can make the skin appear smoother. The skin pinch procedure actually lifts up and removes the sagging skin so it is tighter. So it will depend on whether or not you have skin sagging down or not and whether or not you'd like it removed. Regardless of whether or not you have a skin pinch, you can always do the laser or red light or other technique to generate collagen.

    • @robins3672
      @robins3672 Před 11 dny

      @@jc_newton it’s confusing because the doctor told me the laser will tighten the skin and smooth wrinkles. The recovery is somewhat easier without the external incision, so it’s a tough decision. Both doctors have very good reviews. One is an ocular plastic surgeon and the other is a facial plastic surgeon. I do worry a bit about getting a droopy lower lid with the external incision because I think he removes the fat pads from the outside. I need to confirm that. I think you said your doctor removed the fat pads from inside your lid.

  • @robins3672
    @robins3672 Před 13 dny

    Even on day 7 your eyes look much improved. I’m trying to decide between a lower bleph with external incision vs lower bleph with internal incision to remove fat pad combined with laser on lower lids to tighten skin. Did any of your doctors recommend the internal incision approach?

    • @jc_newton
      @jc_newton Před 12 dny

      @jc_newton Před 23 dny

      Don't worry! I thoroughly washed my hair after my stitches came out (after about 8 days). It REALLY needed a good washing by that point! I'm not sure what other people do -- maybe they carefully wash their hair while taking a bath so that they can lean their head back and not get water on their face? Or maybe they go to the salon have have their hair washed? I don't know! I have long thick hair, so washing it in the shower is the easiest for me, which is why I waited.

    Your results look amazing but most of all you didn´t look awful post surgery! Later today I´ll be exactly 7 days post surgery, and I still look really scary, very swollen and very bruised. Healing is fine, even fast. I bruise a lot normally and due to a thrombosis incident (not deep vein but nore superficial) I had taken blood thinners a week prior to the surgery (was off them for 3 days pre surgery and 36 hours post surgery only) and am taking them now again, so that obviously doesn´t help. I wish I had bought arnica before surgery, not sure it helps but cannot harm, I´m using it now. Also using bromelain, vitamines, drinking loads of water and trying to eat as many vegetables and fruits as I can. I find it hard to see other people with these scars/bruises/swelling. People I don´t know seem either look at me in shock (maybe asking themselves what happened to me) or with pity, while people who have seen me before my surgery but don´t really know me are questioning why I did this to myself. I didn´t really have a strong indication for this surgery, I did because of small details that have mattered a lot for me for as long as I can remember.

    Honestly i don't think the surgery was very well executed. The doctor should have suggested a lateral brow lift, however slight, since there still some tissue hanging over the corner of your eyes. The doctor should have known that the removal of fat pads will lead to more wrinkled and should have done a skin pinch on lower eyelids 💁🏽‍♀️💁🏽‍♀️

    • @gwenp9809
      @gwenp9809 Před měsícem

      A little filler or fat is all that’s needed on lower eyelid. I agree that wrinkles are better than the puff! Wrinkles can be fixed easily!

    • @jc_newton
      @jc_newton Před měsícem

      The doctor did suggest a lateral brow lift, but I didn't want to have another additional procedure, and I was aware (and okay with it) that my eyes lids wouldn't be perfect. Also, I did have a skin pinch on my lower eyelids (that's why there were stitches on the bottom). If he'd have taken a bigger skin pinch, my lower lids would have been pulled down, so he took as much as he could. I knew going in that removing the fat pads could lead to more wrinkles, and between a choice of wrinkles or the fat projection, I chose the wrinkles.

      It’s worth it and no pain at all!

    • @jc_newton
      @jc_newton Před měsícem

      If you're considering it, I'd first check with a dermatologist to make sure that the eye bags you have are actually due to sagging fat pads. At 31, I wouldn't think that the fat pads would have migrated that far, but I don't know. (I'm 52, so mine had plenty of time!) There are lots of reasons for puffy eyes that removing the fat pads won't fix, so first have a consultation to diagnose the reason for your puffy eyes, and then you can determine if the solution your dermatologist suggests is worth it to you.

      @@Sop12349 Yes, I had clear dissolvable stitches right under my lower lash line. Those were from the "skin pinch" where they removed a small amount of skin that would have sagged down after the fat pad was removed. They go in and remove the fat pads through small incisions on the inside of the lower lid, but the surgeon said that they just sort of seal up on their own, so there are no internal stitches.

      Nothing in San Diego is more expensive than Seattle, so there hasn't been sticker shock. It sounds like you wouldn't want to live in California, which is why I hope you don't have to. I hope you live where you're happy.

    A cat and lasangna stains? Big surprise! Cats seem to like that sort of thing because of the flavour. Remember, cats eat gross things like mice, birds, insects and mont old food from the back of the fridge is "aged to perfection!"

      What's so funny is that in this case, it was my nephew, not my cat, that deposited that lasagna stain on my sofa! But, the reason I have my Little Green is because you're right: Newton brings dead mice and birds into the house, and cleaning the rugs of those stains is a regular occurrence at my house!

    I have model 3369 and the suction mode is useless. I ended up with a soaking wet sofa and an empty waste water container.. Hope your model is better.

      Mine works fine, but I can imagine if I had a really soiled area where I needed to add a lot of liquid that it would struggle. I'm sorry you didn't end up with a model you like!

    Thank you! I just got an omnilux contour face mask and the neck chest one and I was curious if I could use it on my hands without affecting my arm tattoos! And this helped!!

      I checked with my dermatologist, and yes! Red light is good for new tattoos while they are healing and don't harm established tattoos. 🙂

    Nice vid! I saw about 10 of them before stumbling upon yours which was very straightforward. One question though, after the dye is the mink oil, then you brushed it?

    • @jc_newton
      @jc_newton Před 4 měsíci

      Yes, and it turns out I used more mink oil than I needed to at the time -- that wasn't really a problem, but I ended up having to really work it in and buff off the extra (my camera overheated and I didn't get that part on film!). If you're doing it, go with a very light coating of the mink oil and let dry completely before you buff. Even better, use a higher grade conditioner like the Saphir Medaille d'Or Pommadier Natural Cream Leather Conditioner (linked in description -- same link as the leather dye). It's expensive, but it goes on easier than the mink oil. Either will work, though! I hope your process goes smoothly!

    Its great just wish you would of shown how you hung or attached the scratcher and the hammock 😊

      This was one of the first videos I created, and unfortunately, the camera overheated and I lost that footage! I attached the scratching post directly to the steps with screws. The steps and the hammock were attached directly to the walls into the studs (or where there were no studs, I used drywall anchors and screws). I hope that helps!

      @@jc_newton did it all hold up well after time?

    • @jc_newton
      @jc_newton Před 5 měsíci

      @@Okie-Girl This particular project has only been up for a few months, and it's super solid and holding up very well. The only issue, if you can call it that, is that the cats love the carpet so much that they are scratching and shredding it up pretty quickly. It's likely I'll need to replace those carpet squares every year or so, just due to them wearing out. The rest of it was pretty over-engineered with 50 lb. drywall anchors, etc. -- so the build is going to last until I decide to take it down! There's of course the possibility of the sisal rope eventually wearing out, also -- but that would also be easy to replace if necessary in a few years.
