Best cooling system on a Jeep XJ

Best cooling system you can have on your Xj by far....works amazing and has never let me down
Whatever is being cooled by the radiator needs to have its own cooler. New cars have a power steering cooler. Clutch fan died on ours at 215k.
what’s the name of that high pitched shill that comes right as you start to rev ? mine has it too
Same bro I can't figure it out maybe it's the intake
@@arizonatrailsadventures8682 does it only do it after a cold start?
Dude can we get an update video on your Jeep? Would love to see where it’s at now.
Hey where can I get the bolt for the AC compressor ?
By the looks of that jeep you must be taking it down dirt roads real offloading will over heat a stock xj system have 3 of them and did the badge course for jeeps, one stock didn't make it an hour did it again with the 3 shrouded fan and aluminum rad never went over 180..
You’re missing the point here along with no to all of that
@flex-jsteve540 yeah ok been building jeeps over 15 years. I know bullshit when I see it..
@@theviper6602 lol sorry to hear you’re mad that you’re missing the point
@flex-jsteve540 there's no point missing bro, I literally have 2 cherokees trail rated by jeep , you don't? .. put your money where your mouth is. I'll meet you any trail you want and I promise you , your jeep won't hang ..

Best sounding exhaust, with no sound. That piss-poor bro
Only person to have ever had an issue with the audio in the video. Unmuting helps
The old setup sounds good but im very curious to see your updated setup
Zero comparison new one is $2,000

I would hope not I would never do such a thing

Want kind of water pump you put on ??
Literally in the video
@@flex-jsteve540 thanks
Very nicely done and explained! I like it. If you could put the name and perhaps part # of the special parts you used to improve the stock system it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
All the names are in the video
Thank you for the video. Could please share with me the links of where to purchased the thermostat housing, and also the lower hose with the coil in it. Thanks
Names of all parts are in the video
So this won't be legal in California, or will it?
I don’t live there
Where in the world did you get a 380amp alternator for you Jeep xj???
Virtuality any custom high output alternator company. That’s not even a lot
I just happened to come across your video... I see your Jeep xj has an OR-Fab front bumper which by the way is no longer made. I think I might have bought the last one they had before OR-Fab went out of business. Yes, I have the same exact bumper on my Jeep xj. I also see that you have a winch. What I want to know is, what brand or kind of winch you have and what size is it??? I'm not sure which winch to get and by looking at yours, I thought you might be able to help with an idea. I'd very much appreciate your input.
They still make it. They shut down for a while and then they opened back up again. What you are talking about is what happened a long time ago that’s not recent at all. I have a Smittybilt x20 10k synthetic with the box relocated in the engine bay by the firewall with 2/0 wire ran for it and a 380 amp alternator.
Whats in it?
Entirely different now everything about it and axles going in in a few weeks
Recommend any lifts looking for a 3” or a 4.5”
Depends on what you’re using it for there’s a lot of factors
@@flex-jsteve540 I’m just daily driving it nothing off road I just really like the look of the lift on the car
@@shanedunn8789 I wouldn’t be daily driving an xj that’s not smart by any means but using it as a pleasure vehicle like you take it out on the weekends or something is ok but what size tire do you plan to use
Can I have all the names of the parts. That sounds really good
It’s not the same as in that video anymore that’s old now it’s Banks header chop off the flange weld on a v band 2.5” all the way to the back all 304 stainless tig welded with a high flow acat cat and a slp muffler with 2 other v bands throughout it for easier section removal
The stock setup works fine but it robs power and uses fuel. Electric fans are more efficient in that regard.
So saving a nickel every gallon of gas and 5 horsepower is more important to you than a better correct higher cfm system that is not hacked together? You’re on your own
@@flex-jsteve540 well, I’m in Australia, so when it comes to fuel, it’s not so much about the cost, it’s about the distance! Some places I travel to, fuel stations can be 500kms apart! Not only that but outback fuel prices are crazy. So yes, fuel economy matters! Also, I may be carrying a lot of extra weight or towing a boat, so yes, 5hp (actually, it’s more like 10hp) actually does matter! You need to remember that not everyone’s needs are the same as yours! Oh and why would you assume that just because my cooling system isn’t stock that it’s “hacked together”? Because it’s not. It’s high quality, tried and tested and I can crawl along all day in 45 deg C heat without overheating. But whatever, you stick with your old fashioned tech if you want to…
@@officialWWM you completely had that go over your head
@@flex-jsteve540 so did you!
@@officialWWM i didn't though....your thought process is fucked
CHECK YOUR FUEL PRESSURE. I had a weak fuel pump causing a lean running condition. Leaner mixture runs hotter. My XJ would start missing like a stormtrooper whenever I got near 210. Its kuz the fuel rail pressure was not high enough to keep the fuel from boiling. New pump, runs much cooler, and even when I have gotten it up to the line after 210, no misfire.
You’d get a cel and or notice lack of fuel pressure lol
@@flex-jsteve540 nope. My 2000 Cherokee never once threw any cel other than a p0303. Cyl 3 misfire. And that was only if I sat with it idling too long. Fuel pressure got so shitty that it would just fall on its face if I tried to throttle up at all. When I finally tested fuel pressure with a gauge rather than depressing the Schrader on the rail, she made a whopping 3 - 7 psi. New fuel pump also solved what I thought was a transmission issue, nah just turned out it couldn't supply the necessary amount of fuel.
@@TheRealMikeWilly so that’s yes not nope go back and reread
@@flex-jsteve540 cel was intermittent and would clear itself after a few drive cycles if it didn't get hot. Snap on Apollo D9 scan tool identified the problem as bad coil or bad plug. Injector was functioning as designed and there's no fuel pressure sensor, never once did it point towards the fuel pump. Lack of power was definitely noticed but was attributed to 37's on 3.55's. I've had plenty of 4.0s but never had such large tires on such a tall ratio until I picked up this one. Nevertheless, a fuel pressure test never hurts unless you spray it in your eyes and according to FSM 43 psi is the minimal pressure acceptable.
Looking for a lower hose with the spring in it 96 Cherokee XJ 4.0 HO. Looking for a factory coolant temp sensor with gauge same vehicle. Also looking for factory radiator same vehicle. Also looking for a quick disconnect for the automatic transmission line The female end. I didn't catch what kind of thermostat housing you have on it thank you for your time

Did you have problems with the hesco thermostat housing leaking from the bottom of it? I've put on 4 blue gaskets from autozone, before I replaced the OEM thermostat housing it wasn't leaking before but now it is. I haven't checked to see if their is any cracks on the head where the thermostat housing goes on but I doubt it's cracked though. Can you give me some advice why it's leaking?
There’s only a handful of ways it’ll leak. You didn’t put the hose on all the way, it’s cracked, it’s not machined flat, you didn’t clean the surface well, you didn’t rtv both sides of the gasket, you didn’t torque correctly.
@@flex-jsteve540 Thanks for the quick reply I did put new hoses all around and their pretty tight on the connections I did clean off the surface too. About how much torque should I torque them down to.
