What has always puzzled me is that the Eel went from pristine in 1848 to completely compromised 100 years later. 50 years into that we realized what we were doing. Sine then, NOTHING has been done except embracing the extractive model even further. 50 years to ruin it and I would say 50 to years to fix it once we decide to. I won't hold my breath. Most of the watershed lives close to the poverty line and yet they are acting like they all have something to lose by fixing the watershed.

Wonderful to see these again! It was a pleasure working with Dr. Art Campbell & his colleagues on the 2nd Editions of these films in the 1980s. I worked at Wexler Films in Los Angeles filming the titles, credits & much of the animation. Thanks to the Lawrence Hall of Science for making these available outside the classroom.

Frequency Vibrations = Levitation. The Pyramids worked like a "Tuning Fork" and could be easily picked up close by to power the tools used to shape the stones, and other devices. Each corner of the Pyramid used Sound Waves to place the Stone blocks in place, with instruments amplified to project sound waves, in a controlled environment to lift stones.

Hello! I am Cassia, the educator in this video. Just wanted to offer a little bit of context for this lesson since it was impossible for the video to capture everything. I shared the bird story only after the children explored with the natural materials because I was curious to see and hear what they were wondering about real bird nests and what would happen when they tried to build their own nests without any glue or tape. The story illustrates some of what I observed the children doing. The bird hurt its beak (empathy) as it was picking up the sticks to build its nest. The sticks wouldn't stay on the branch of the tree (challenge). The children shared many ideas about how the bird could use certain materials to make its nest sturdier and had opportunities to try out their ideas (trial and error). The children came up with so many ideas that they didn't want to stop trying them out. Stories should never end!
