Just after the War we were stationed with my father at RAF Oakham. Every Sunday morning we had Duck come round Married Quarters to take us to church. Us kids loved it.

BERNARD DUBAJ (DUBAY) OF ERIE, PA, USA, LIVED THRU THE EUROPEAN THEATER AS A P-38 LIGHTNING PILOT, WENT ON TO SSA, CIA, EMPLOYED BY GENERAL ELECTRIC AERONAUTICAL AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING -- MY HERO UNCLE!!
The Corsair had 11 to 0 kill ratio, so as they say every dog has its day.
Don't forget that it took two atomic bombs to get Japan to surrender to America...sad but true. Blue sky's.
Borinquen field in Puerto Rico received one P38 . Someone taxied it into a hanger post
Eveyone forgets the techs & engineers that helped us help win that awful war.
Quit telling me pearl harbor was unprovoked! Tell you what... cut America off of oil and see how fast we invade! Stop the lie! Teach truth
They did have a choice and options were discussed among the leadership. In the end, they chose to attack.
The embargo was imposed after the Japanese invaded French Indochina. It was a response to an attack.

Sikorsky is Ukrainian, not Russian.
Landing on the mettle / steal runways was like landing on ice so said my father ( 454 bomb group B 24 )
There was a lot more to the PT109 story than was told here. Jack did a lot more inter island swimming than what was told in this documentary.
Kelly Johnson pre skunk works, man, he designed some legendary aircraft.
P38 LIGHTNING and SR 71 BLACKBIRD. Both beautiful and elegant. Engineering marvels. Both setting records. And both by Lockheed and Kelly Johnson
Wasnt he a nazi
I went to Army Air Assault School at FT Campbell, KY in November of 1981. The Blackhawks were coming it but there were still a fair amount of Hueys. To be honest, I preferred the Huey to the Blackhawk. It was noisier, vibrated a lot more but unassing from one was a easier and rappelling a whole lot easier because you could jump down on the skid and push off from there. The "hell hole" on the right side was also a lot less in the Huey.
But none of the PT 109 would talk about the incident, " whatever the Capt. said ..." was the response.
Utterly INCREDIBLE! 😳 he designed & drew every little piece & part, each with it’s precise size, & then had each one created & assembled, & it all worked wonderfully! It’s really beyond comprehension!
My mom saved a P38 pilot who crashed,by pulling him from wreckage as ammo was cooking off all around her during WW2, No Calif.
Ppppppp 9th 8 of course in 0
A110 s grammar so cool
The A10 of the Ocean
I'd like to see more of Jacob's rescue.. Seems like a story within a storyline!
Did the torpedoes ever work? I am reading that they typically failed to detonate. Come to think of it I have never read of any PT torpedo attack sinking a Japanese warship. High altitude bombers that could not hit within 1000 feet of a target and PT boats that had to toss torpedo tubes. WTF? Were WWII designers and engineers that bad? I suppose fat man proved our scientists and engineers we could actually develop a weapon system that worked.
Surface Nip killers. Oceanic Viper. Killer of Giants. Filling the lockers of Davy!

Who is the narrator of this series? Sounds a bit like Richard Vaughan
Muy buen documental...lastima ..yo no hablo inglés
kennedy was a fiction, start to finish
Respect to those that fought in the RAF when Britain stood on its own right from the beginning , example Handley Page Hampdens to the Famous Lancaster. Thank you.
Poking fun at the documentary's history remix - turning facts into a comedy show! 😄🎬
And my God is American! Aryeh Judah Schoen Nusbacher doesn't look to fond of America!
Holy freaking Dooley people 🙄. It’s an entertaining video that’s also informative. Thanks for the video and I can say that yes, a main battle tank approaching your Sanger is going to put you on edge. 👍
Thank God for all that Survived.
Question were the later P-38's supercharged?
All American P38's were turbosupercharged
Everyone that served in WW2 is my Hero, the bravest of the brave. Thank God we had such great People Defending the World's Freedom.
I am hooked on WW2 History,love it.
Those WW2 Pilots were & are true Hero's,the reconnaissance pilot were very important.
When I think of American bombers of ww2 I think of B-17, B-24, B-29 and B-25 but so often overlook the B-26. This was a gem of a documentary to find and super stoked to learn something new about a true underdog
Always the same.the elite steal health and use the peasants to fight for them
They didnt say if they solved that Compressabilty problem. Guess they must have. Skunk works could fix anything.
Hardly a mastermind when you loose, he started a war and regretted it.
I am the son of a Vietnam vet, a Hawaii trained M60 door gunner. He served with the 145 Aviation Battalion, home based in Fort Rucker, Alabama. His main base was Tan Son Nhut Airbase, but his company's area of impact included Bien Hoi and Vung Tau.
I can't understand why some Vietnam vets consider him a REMF. 2500 combat hours and 25 Air Medals¹ sounds like real combat to me. ¹with a CIB and a V device on his Air Medal that by rights and in the opinion of his pilots should have been a DFC.
The US government supported this dictator until it became convenient to dispose of him
great stuff. I found this video after listening to a book called Skunkworks. Kelly Johnson of Skunkworks also designed the P-38. The book has tons ofpeople mention how Kelly is the best damn plane designer they ever met and this video confirms that Kelly knew his business.
Us the scum of the earth
