it's more than just a love triangle.
I can't wait to see this movie again. Challengers is maybe not the movie I was hoping it would be, but I still love what we ended up getting. Zendaya was a perfect fit for this film. Josh O'Conner and Mike Faist were her equal in every way. Regardless of how it ends up doing in the box office, this is going to be a Gen Z cult movie, I guarantee you. Luca Guadagnino transcends all generations.

A Scene-by-Scene Breakdown of BARBIE

Barbie was the biggest movie at the box office in 2023, and I wanted to take a closer look at it to better understand how it worked. Often the best way of understanding anything is to simply break it down into its individual parts, so that's what I did. This is a complete summary and explanation of Greta Gerwig's Barbie (2023). 0:00 Prologue 0:10 Act One 1:26 Act Two - Part 1 3:16 Midpoint 3:37...
Reviewing Magic Mike's Last Dance
zhlédnutí 511Před rokem
When I first saw the Magic Mike movie, I was really blown away. It was so much better than it needed to be, and much of that was down to the focus on and honest portrayal of its central characters. Magic Mike XXL took a somewhat lighter toned approach but nevertheless put the movie in the hands of the Kings of Tampa. In Magic Mike's Last Dance, there's certainly an emotional core to the movie, ...
Knock at the Cabin Review

While watching this movie last week, I just couldn't help but appreciate how much Shyamalan commits to each of his movies. It's bold storytelling wrapped in bold filmmaking, and we need more of this out of the film industry. Although not every aspect of Knock at the Cabin worked for me, I was really glad to have spent the hour and forty minutes watching it in the theater. Dave Bautista was amaz...

Everything Everywhere All At Once is a gorgeously dense film that absolutely rewards subsequent viewings. The Daniels nailed prett...

This also serves as an analysis of Glass Onion and a full review of what I thought of the film as a whole. Let me know what you thought of Gl...

I'm not even as big a Tarantino fan as most people but he's completely right and the directors I respect the most write all their scripts, and I put them in a separate category from directors whom I also love but who don't write anything.

The one where she went homr to file her taxes really confused me because its set up the same as part 1. To summarize this, which universe does she "wake up" to?

Oh, Eddie Izzard and his opinion about Clay Pigeons-he threw that yh? What Do I have to say? Throw another one before he kills me with the thin bit? ... Eddie Izzard ey? He's my favourite lemon lollipop. He's a so-daddy , he's a Cold Front Coming. I used to make a list ( this was after i thought about moving to NYC) of people i ought to make ice with witchcraft for if I could. Like...Hitler. The thing about Eddie is his stand up ( i love by the way) is school in the bar. I was suspicious: what next? Only it turned out he was completely cuckoo juice and clearly jolly yeah? So i thought in the name of Picasso i ought to let him continue . Yes! Eddie izzard I thought: twang people into a tree! Bl**dy scientologists think they won the game of life! Eddie's so freakishly good-looking he could make anything fashionable he ever wanted like...if he wanted to make a skin tight catsuit out of a Beatles mohair psychedelia someone in town would say "that was FRESH."

And they were so happy! Plaid Cymru (who are the racist Welsh nationalist team on site) waved banners like the Irish like "F*ck you buddy!" To the English right? And in London they missed the money huh? This homeless guy was like "this is a bit of a skinny pigeon? Could do with some mushrooms with it ey ey? F*ckers." Yh whatever.

I’m a writer/director myself (3 feature films) but in regards to Fincher and other directors that direct other people’s scripts, you can still have that voice. A director ultimately is the lead creative of the film, so he choose the look and feel of the film and how it is told. If a director likes a certain topic and continues to find scripts that fit that topic, there’s a clear distinction of the director without him/her having to write the script as well. I use Denis Villeneuve (director of Dune) as an example. He only directs but his film discography is very wide and you can still spot his films just by the tone, visuals and storytelling.

I still haven't seen this yet. But, ,will watch it. The stair thing reminds me of, The Exorcist. Stairs were indicative of the priest, Damien. He was always seen going up and never down. That was talked about on the DVD. Also, it shouldn't be, "is" all the stairs. But, "are" all the stairs. Why are people not using "are" when they use something that's plural? It's as if they see the "s" at the end of the word they're describing and think "is" should be used. Simple grammar goes a long way.

However - if a movie is good or not is not decided by someone's own preferences, but by acting, plot twist, régie, the whole theme, hidden critic etc, aspects that proove this movie deserved all his awards. And apart from that - this movie CAN't be hyped, bc it was the first Korean movie that actually has been noticed by western movie industry, so if they were able to suddenly recieve attention with one movie after being ignored in that business, they worked for their success. No one came and hyped this foreign movie before that 🙄
